    Just a tip from a concrete guy when you were first epoxying you should never let your roller “get dry” like when it makes that sticky sounds and it isn’t going on 100% perfect… that could be an issue. Always make sure you have a ton on epoxy on your roller like you did at the end… the best way to apply epoxy also is with a squeegee and then use a roller for the edges if you don’t know how to use a trowel. I enjoy your tank and I hope everything works out for you man!

      Thanks for the tip. I ended up with a 1/4” of epoxy in the base and it leveled out so it’s pretty smooth

    I’m a concrete guy too and no one know the force that concrete has during a pour in between two forms, a lot of pressure and weight. Water does the same thing and I believe that using the fiberglass on the joints and corners could help too, you’ve gone this far don’t give up

      Looks like we are all concrete guys lol 😂 unfortunately I got rid of the fish and the tank is gonna go next. I’ve made my decision to switch to small tanks so I could focus on my aquascaping

      Sad to hear you’re taking the tank down. I’m really interested in knowing about the big plant you had in it. Where can I get one like that?

    You need center support the whole length. To prevent sag

    • @Scaping_the_six
      @Scaping_the_six  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      There are 40 supports under the tank. 16 on the back 16 on the front and 4 in the middle. Unfortunately it’s still not enough because I just ran into another issue

    Hey mate thanks for sharing the good and the bad, plywood aquariums is something that reslly interests me alot. Can I ask, did you use fibreglass reinforcing fabric over the joins? Also I saw thay you ran into another issue can I ask what happened?

    • @Scaping_the_six
      @Scaping_the_six  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi, I did have fibreglass on the corners. My issue was I didn’t support the stand in the middle properly which caused it to sag and spring a leak. I’m keeping the tank and I’ll be fixing it in the future

      It’s our worst nightmare but as long as you catch it quick enough it won’t cause much damage and you’ll save all your fish.

    surprised you didnt put an extra lot of fibre glass on the joints while you had the tank empty

    • @Scaping_the_six

      I should have done that because it just leaked again today 🤦🏻 I’ll be posting a new video soon to explain my next move

      @@Scaping_the_six ooch sry
      yeh any wood framed plywood construction flexes to some degree under pressure
      ive seen well over engineered shuttering for concrete work fully braced with acro's still flex out over night and leak down the joints
      some extra fiberglass tape on the joints should stop the slight flex from making even a pinhole size leak
      and once its dry maybe a bead of black silicon on the inside of all the joints (belt and braces job)
