Interesting start. Hopefully, Goku shows some more unique moves fitting for a guardian. As in magic based, perhaps since Kami and to a lesser extent Piccolo has shown. From clothes beam/weight training, slight ki based healing techniques, perhaps further enhanced visual range/perception, both Ki and non Ki related, etc. Chi Chi gave her position. Hopefully, it is more active as well, besides raising Gohan on the Lookout with training given Kami and Popo assistance. This scenario can go in slightly different positive and negative ways unque to this one change. Perhaps due to eating the herb, no heart virus and no future Trunks or other story. Though possibly more powerful and dangerous Androids due to new data collected. I mean, given Goku is stronger than end Saiyan Saga already, and Gero bots were still data collecting at this point. It can have the ripple effect of stronger Androids in general. Outside of Cell, who is partially also dependent on certain DNA, not as far yet acquired in this early story atm. Obviously, if Frieza shows up on Earth still, eventually, then that makes Cell similar/better. Imagine if Goku convinces King Kai to bring the entire group to train. A near year of that would make Goku probably not need to participate outside to observe when Vegeta and Nappa show up. Given Goku currently is enough to take on Great Ape Vegeta since Goku can go all the way up to Kaioken ×20 which is overkill. So I can see Goku focus his training more on those on Earth, be it with King Kai. So Goku is focused on his guardian duties as well. Perhaps in that year trying to befriend Piccolo as to similar what Gohan in the short time did. This could show to Kami Goku not only pure hearted but also a good replacement as he found a way that Kami didn't even see as possible. Showing mercy and possible redemption to someone Kami saw as impossible to change.
At least Chi-Chi can't complain that Goku doesn't have a job here. 😆 Goku training under King Kai early here makes sense. 👍 Goku helping in training Piccolo, the Humans, and maybe Gohan would be cool to see maybe they learn different techniques Goku could've picked while training with King Kai like Kaio-Ken or the Spirit Bomb. I do wonder if Goku will remain Kami during this whole series or not because him passing it onto Gohan could work later? 🤔 My idea would be Goku remains Guardian of Earth, but Gohan becomes an Apprentice Supreme Kai later when Shin and Kibito come into play. Anyways another really good start to this new series, and looking forward to the next part soon.

It wouldn't make sense for Goku to spare Vegeta, since Vegeta was pure evil when he was introduced, and the reason that Goku let Vegeta go( Goku spares Vegeta to show him mercy in the original Z and in Kai, Goku spares Vegeta coz he wants to fight him again), with Kami being the driving factor for Gokus morality, it means that Kami will tell Goku to kill Vegeta and nappa

I’m only 5 minutes in but I just wanted to point out that king Kai wouldn’t know that Goku is a saiyan because he didn’t in the normal story until Goku told him
King Kai is more knowledgeable in the what ifs in general, often SaladSaiyan says something along the lines of King Kai brings Goku to the Supreme Kai, but at least in the anime King Kai says that he's never even seen the Supreme Kai

Goku gained a substantial increase in the year before the Saiyan Saga so he gon be in the 6 digets before they arrive. + kaioken and not even 2 great apes beating him. And with Kamis influence, nothing will stop Goku from killing them. If he was convinced to kill someone who couldnt destroy the planet, he can be convinced to kill them too. Cant wait to see more Kami Goku

I like this concept a lot and excited for it, but as I have asked before and will again, please make one where both broly and goku are sent to namek as kids. You've done it with them separately and it turned out good, so I believe it would be better if both of them went. I would understand if you are busy, but please make it.
