When you take the positive terminal off the battery there is always a risk of your wrench grounding to metal creating sparks, that's why you should only remove the negative terminal instead. It does the same thing without grounding out, cause it already is a ground.
I think you meant negative cable. You never leave the negative cable sitting on a battery Alone because then you become the ground the electricity will run through. I Always only remove the negative cable

I disconnected both battery wires from the battery but ty this was a lot of help to change my starter ty for the video
