    Rhys Hoskins, Schwarber and Harper broke that Padres pitching rotation and bullpen. Padres pitching looked untouchable until they met their match.

    • @MiaouwPhilliesSuki14

      Don’t forget about Realmuto, he had some big at bats and got on base consistently for Bryce to drive in runs.

      @@MiaouwPhilliesSuki14 Realmuto’s offense is overlooked by his defense. But I do agree he had 3 walks and 4 hits the entire series. I like his game a lot. This Phillies team can put a beating on this Astros bullpen if the Phillies bullpen can hold their own.

      @carsonwalker4330 2 ปีที่แล้ว +18

      @@thomasjames24306 It was 4-1, but those games were all very close. There was one game where the Phillies won by more than 2 runs. The Phillies outscored the Padres 24-19 (5 run differential). The Phillies were much more clutch and didn't go away. They came back from several deficits.
      This was definitely an evenly-matched series. It just came down to which pitching staff could outlast the other and which hitting core was more clutch. And that was the Phillies.

  • @aquila519

    i think this series was criminally underrated and will be underrated for awhile. Most of the games were close and every game was really entertaining from both teams. Padres put up a great fight but that clutch hitting from the Phillies was just incredible.

If the Phillies win the world series, not only would this be a complete Revenge game from the regular season, and give them their third overall WS win, they'll also be the third National League team to defeat houston within 3 years. Maybe my standards are "too high" when it comes to baseball, but Soto and Machado are basically nonexistent this entire series. I mean borderline awful. Furthermore, if you want proof that the Gold Glove Award is more of a popularity contest than it is about actually being elite in the field, just look at Soto defensively in this series and think about how he was Gold Glove finalist. Gross.
