As a dinosaur researcher. The newly discovered carnivorous Meraxes gigas.
Was for carnivorous dinosaur size… it was underwhelming as it’s though to be about 4 metric tons.
And the tyrannosaurus seems to be bigger than expected by reaching weights of 9.5 - 13 tons.
Plus the skull sizes are drastically different. Meraxes skull was 4 foot long, roughly the same as Acrocanthosaurus but I’ve seen Tyrannosaur skulls about 6 foot long.
And for most deadly dinosaurs. For the many species the top ten.
    1) Utahraptor
    2) Saurophaganax
    3) Megalosaurus
    4) Giganaraptor
    5) Tarchia - Asian ankylosaur
    6) Edmontosaurus - hadrosaur
    7) Gigantospinosaurus - stegosaur
    8) Megaraptor
    9) Certaosaurus
    10) Sinraptor - Asian carnivore related to carnotasaur
    11) Tyrannosaurs of any kind.

I just read an article that said while the meteor assisted in the extinction of dinosaurs it wasn't the only cause, scientists believe that dinosaurs were at the peak of their evolutionary ride, meaning they couldn't get any better but they also can devolve either!

The bigger, more specialised dinosaurs certainly met their demise. But the smaller, generalised ones were able to adapt to the new harsh climate better. These were mostly theropods that evolved into some of the birds we have today.

I have been saying for years the small forelimbs on these dinosaurs were some kind of sexual clasper. You are the first person I've seen to agree with me. Tests on the muscle attachments of T. Rex arms indicate one arm was capable of lifting over 400 pounds. If they were useless, why would this be so? While they may have been of little use to the female T. Rex, the males could certainly use them during mating.

Early examples of the Hominidae include Australopithecus (a progenitor) and a number of other species that gradually led to Homo sapiens. The Hobbits, who lived on an island, didn't have much to do with that evolution.

@@floydriebe4755 Okay, here’s how evolution works in the most simplified way possible. A fish lays some eggs, right? Well in that egg is another fish that might have some beneficial mutations so it hatches & has it’s own eggs. The fish in the new egg has it’s parent’s mutations on top of it’s own new mutations. & then so on until the thing in the egg is no longer the same species, it has a combination of mutations that makes it different enough from its family that it classifies as a different species. That’s what happens when you keep piling up mutations, eventually you end up with something different.

    • @floydriebe4755
      @floydriebe4755 2 ปีที่แล้ว

@@IxxieNyx granted, the egg gets layed and, eventually hatches. somewhere along the line, mutations of dna occur and species evolve. got it. no sweat. however, a critter has to formulate an egg before something can hatch from said egg. sssssooooo, where, when, and how did this critter, the egg layer, come to be? ooorrr, where did the first egg come from?

I am so very happy that we don't have Mosasaurs anymore. Although my thelassophobia would be more justified.

Huh….while that statement _is_ correct, even if the average human was 6’…it’s _5 TIMES_ a human. Not sure why you chose only _3._ Lol!

Sorry but incorrect and misleading information is an insult to a palaeontologist that’s studied this particular specimen for many many years, Tyrannosaurus rex did not have 3000lbs of bite force, Tyrannosaurus rex generated and estimated Twelve THOUSAND pounds of bite force, 12,000lbs.
