Would like to see a play through using Stuka Joe’s cards.

Really good unboxing RS - like you, I've held off on it because of the solo suitability (or potential lack thereof). I'd love to see a brief series of this, with maybe a couple of turns to show how well the CDG solo system works with it.

Thanks for this great unboxing. I have gotten into this hobby in my retired years. I was reluctant to purchase any games based on WW1 because I saw that conflict as a bloody slog confined to the trenches. Since then I have gotten involved with Nangwaya's (Chris Prest) overview of this conflict and discovered that The Great War was so much more than that, thus I have purchased both strategic and tactical games that cover it. In the strategic area I have the recent game from Compass, 'The Lamps Are Going Out' which is by design able to be completed in a single session, the game having an area control map for Europe with smaller Point to Point map insets of the Middle Eastern Theatre and the German East African campaign. I have purchased this edition of the 'Paths of Glory' and I just purchased the 'Pursuit of Glory' which uses the same system but is limited to the Middle Eastern Theatre of the War. The Pursuit of Glory has Brad Stock and Brain Stock as the game designers rather than Ted S. Raicer. I have also purchased another Ted S. Raicer designed game, 'The Great War in Europe 1914-1918', a game published in 2007 which has 6 hex maps on three different 22"x34" sheets. This game has both more map area and counters than the other games but no card decks. I wonder if Raicer wanted to do a hex game on WW1 after he changed the map type on the original Paths of Glory? I guess I have made those purchases to keep myself from being tempted to buy the monster series of games, 'Das Weltkrieg'. The scope and the cost of that game overwhelms me.

Excellent un boxing and I pre ordered the game when the CDG solo system was released. My game arrived on Tuesday along with White Plains, Chomping at the very bit to play them both. Looks like a lot of reading of the rules for POG.

Thanks for unboxing, I have seen the lastest version.
There are lot card sharks out there who have set plans, & know the decks inside out.

Looks brilliant! Still awaiting my copy. Generally love your way of unboxing videos, you don't rush things, with paying much attention to details, greetings!

Looking forward to your solo play with the Stuka Joe system Rough, hopefully you'll get to the table soon!

Good unboxing. I was skeptical of the Stuka Joe system at first, but used it with Washington's War and For the People and it just works. I guess because you are the AI for both sides but it puts enough card play impediments in the way and builds in enough uncertainty as to what card you can play so you can never follow through with the perfect plan. I'm in the original map school, I like to be able to see the topography background plus I find the new map's colors to be a little dark & ugly and the individual spaces a bit overdecorated. Wish they had revised the historical game VP spaces on the original map but that probably would have added too much expense.

This is a fantastic (6-8 hour :-)) game. Still in the top 100 of BGG I believe!

It's a masterpiece. One downside is the plethora of rule exceptions.

    Long time no see Rough...
That game certainly is good. I wrote some articles for the Players Guide if you can find it. I might have to break it out and try it solo

I love this game. I have played many times and it is always a (lengthy) experience. Never tried it solo but if I did I would play it on VASSAL.
Not seen the new map before your video but I instinctively like the older map.
