An awesome ocean. It provides rich food for human beings. At the same time, we must implement strict fishing ban to get the gift of the ocean in a long-term and sustainable way. It's inherent in human nature to harvest (take) more than is sustainable. Examples of over fishing, even well managed stocks, are very common. We will always take more than we should especially as world population pushes 9 billion. On a hake trawler the preferred cod-end catch size is about 10 metric tons because that weight matches what the processing plant can handle without loss of quality in about an hour.
