i'm seeing these pyrite knives all around the 50 dollar mark, for that price i'm very fond of the kershaw covalent. i've been carrying one of them EDC for the last 2 years and it has been top notch.
I purchased one of these same colors, for my son's nephew in-law for his birthday. Great knife, had to buy one for myself, and at $25.00, I couldn't pass it up. I got the blue scales and the black AR-RPM9 blade. Not a better deal anywhere. Thanks, Ken, for your video. Oh and I'm carrying my Benchmade Bugout in S30V and Bailout in 3V today.
I know you like big knives so I hate to tell you there is an XL version of the Pyrite Lite and it’s awesome (I picked one up from a channel sale). In your latest video you mentioned buying some Rit dye (that went missing), you going to try dyeing the pink? Some people like an inch per ounce, but I love to get ~1.4” (or ~0.7 oz/in) 😂 The latest knife I had to try (coming Mon/Tue) is the Spyderco Stretch 2 XL at 2.7oz with a 3.92” blade (0.68oz/in) 💥🔥 I love FRN knives-I want to get all the Seki and “Seki style” FRN Spyderco models. Picked Steel just did a Live going over their product line that was fun. 22:30 do you like the Wharnecliffe over the regular Spyderco blade? I’m surprised you went with it for an Endura tbh. I love how you always display the knives clip up, it’s a pet peeve of mine when channels don’t 😂 Thanks for the video, Ken F.
I mostly use a Worksarp Precision because it is easier to maintain an even bevel. For budget knives I will freehand with Atoma diamond stones so I can get better at it. Scadi blades sharpen the same as others. The only difference is the primary bevel is not as acute (higher angle number) the edge bevel can be the same as over blades, but it will be thicker behind the edge, making the edge grind taller. Hope this makes sense.
Interesting knives in your video. I don't have a CJRB yet. Only one I have been interested in is the bowie pyrite. I learned to surf when I was stationed in Hawaii. Haven't been on a board since. Once you've surfed the north shore of Hawaii east coast waves are boring. One day when grow up I'll get a Spyderco. 😂

Its a great knife for sure.
Very nice Ken! Thank you for sharing!

This is even a little cheaper than the Penguin. Both are great knives!
Noticed one of your budget knives was a Scandi grind how do you sharpen it?
