Hi Sir,,, can i use this photometer to determine NPK in fertilizer?
Does the method to extract N P and K use the same way as soil or we have to preparation it first by adding some acid to destruction?

Hi, how much soil do you measure and how much distilled water do you add to make one sample?

better not to used distilled water to extract the nutrient in soil
you can follow this method: (1) 2.5g of soil add with 25mL Mehlich 3 extracting solution to extract phosphorus & potassium. shake at 200rpm for 5 minutes. filter & proceed with HI83325 analysis. (2) to extract nitrogen - 5g of soil add with 50mL calcium sulfate 0.01M, shake at 200rpm for 15 minutes, filter & proceed with HI83325 analysis.

1st remove the cap of the demineralizer bottle & fill it with tap water. then u replace the cap & shake for 5 minutes & now its ready to use. when the resin inside the bottle change color from green to blue then you have to replace a new bottle.

Please guide how can we apply the dilution factor during soil sampling as its initial concentration is unknown. Please share your email address as well.

if you are following the soil extraction method with Mehlich 3 solution, then you need to apply 10 times dilution factor because the the ratio for soil & extractant is 1 to 10. (1 soil:1 extractant)
