Wow! Your passion for these cool little roadsters is amazing! Keep enjoying them haha. Thanks for watching brotha, I appreciate the kind words! Yea evan's car sounds great, but miatas sound nice in general, especially since you can ring them out and not break too many laws lol

Saving up for a Miata and binging a bunch of videos rn it will be my first car my end goal would be to learn more and be hands on about cars also want to learn how to drift!

You should get one as your first car! They are great to learn how go drive a manual, teaching you car control and how to handle a rear wheel drive car, easy to work on, and easy to modify. You'll love it!
This video made me buy a stock 1992 Miata. I literally just bought it yesterday and so far..... I legit love the hell out of my new car! I wont be keeping my car stock, HOWEVER I can understand totally why this guy wants to keep his stock. It really is an awesome car to driveas is from the factory... So happy I found this video and bought this car. I'm sure I would get along with these guys in the video well.
So happy you bought one bro! Evan has actually sold this car and got a 2000 special edition, low miles, supercharged. Review coming soon! I also just purchased a 1999 NB1 miata myself. Many videos coming on the channel!
@@MaxSpeedMike Can't wait to see the review of it! :) I plan on getting a NB in the future as well, congrats on your NB purchase :p I got the NA first because not only is it a classic and first gen that started it all, its because I have emissions where im from and sense the car is so old I don't need to do any emissions on it :p
I’m nearly 15, i really want a mk1 for my first car, i just love everything about it, pop up headlights and a really good first car, it’s not really fast but you don’t need a fast car when you start driving, definitely my dream car for sure
Dude, you need to learn to row down the gears on the way up to junction instead of just dumping the clutch. It sounds like you've got a diff bearing going as well. Smart car though, RPF1s look great on them.
reviewed another miata. you'll see my driving is much better in this one. I try to drive these cars like they are mine but something in the back of my head always limits me because it's someone else's car and I feel bad for ragging on it. That changed since this video though :D
My stock NA is very different than this one. This one seems to have a radio/cassette delete, different gauges, aftermarket wheels, short throw shifter by the looks, blackened front bumper lights, exhaust, rear wing delete?, aftermarket headlamps, intake is way different, radiator, etc. Now let me get off my soap box. 60K miles NA?! That's crazy!!! Mine has 230K which might be why mine is way more run down than this. This is easily the cleanest, most well upkept NA I have ever seen, internet or otherwise. I am definitely saving this video as motivation to get mine cleaned up and working smoothly again. That's a fine lady you got there!!
funny guy lol. Title is referring to stock engine. Makes about the same horsepower as a stock one too. Glad this video inspired you :) Evan has since sold it and now has a 60k mile supercharged 2000 special edition nb. This specific miata is still roaming around though hehe. I have since picked up an nb myself too. Bought from the 3rd owner, it was stock, and just needed paint and a top. I have since added tasteful mods (you can check out the build in my channel if you'd like) and I am absolutely in love with my miata. I drive it every chance I get. I have a daily but the miata ends up being my daily more often than not ;)
Lol honestly it gives the car a nice aggresive rumble at idle, and sounds good at lower rpms. It can get a bit raspy toward the higher rpms but overall it's bot annoyingly loud, and I liked it.
@@tylerwitmer3769 It's an HKS Dragger exhaust, they don't produce the exhaust anymore but I'm sure you can find it used online somewhere. I like it for the idle, and lower rpms. Higher up it can get a little raspy but you can fix that with some modifications to the setup.
>"stock" >lowered suspension, aftermarket wheels, smoked turn signals, NB wheel etc. If the motor being stock means that it's a stock Miata, then like 95% of Miatas in existence are stock haha Side note to the owner - I noticed you leave your hand on the shifter for long periods of time between shifts, seemingly with some lateral force on it. This can shorten the lifespan of your gearbox if it's a continuous habit. And it's also a good practice to maximize the amount of time both hands spend on the wheel, only leaving the wheel with your right hand for the amount of time it takes to make the shift - mainly for driving corners but yeah. Don't mean to come across super negative - this was a well put together video and this is a clean Miata. Just some thoughts!
I had a 1993 Miata and I'm 6 foot even. Yeah you can fit but your eye level sits around the top part of the windshield. I even took the drivers side sun visor off and still had to squat down in my seat to see overhead stoplights. Fun car, easy to work own, I sold mine and switched to an e46 330ci when a guy running from the cops almost hit me head on.
Roll bar (safety) and a lower bucket seat helps those 2 issues you had (safety and visibility). The 330ci is a nice ride though. Hope you bought it with the 6 speed manual for the most amount of fun ;)
Great video. I remember when the Miata first came out and I had no idea what it was or who made it. I was in love with MGB's and I thought maybe it is the new MG..... well it was. I have a Midget now but I can see myself owning one of these one day.
It's an awesome car. Really fun to drive! If you like this and want a little more, I'd reccomend the s2000. To me, that is one of the best driver's cars ever made.
Similar to me with my 92 VW GTI 16v. I maintain it. K&N, Chip, Tectonics Exhaust. Concentrated on Suspension with Stock size 15” Wheels wrapped in 205/50 15’s. Full KW Coilovers with all new suspension bits like tie rods, boots. F & R Neuspeed Sway-bars. Handles like a Go Cart sticks like Glue. It sounds purposely sporting.
Nice, mine is so stock it has the original tape player (and an aux jack for the phone!). Great cars, it’s my second. One many years ago in the UK, current one in Australia. Top tip, carry sun cream and a spare cap in the glove box. ;)
I got sun burn after this video, no joke! That's a strong tip right there haha. Keep enjoying your miata. The fact that you're on your second one shows how fun and addictive they are!
I drove my 2002 MiataB LS 5 speed stick from SW Florida to Chicago in 21 hours, and it was a blast! Drove back to Florida 2 weeks later and had zero problems! Fantastic vehicles! By doing minimum maintenance the vehicle should last 350,000 miles plus!
Thanks man!! You're about the same height as I am. I find myself to fit perfectly in miatas. If you enjoyed this video, I recently uploaded a 30th AE miata review that is worth checking out.
Awesome video guys! I have a 95 and keeping it relatively stock as well. I did however keep my radio and upgraded to the Clearwater speakers in the headrests and doors. It sounds like an upgraded system from a modern vehicle. Driving and music go hand in hand so I'm surprised you deleted yours. If you havent done frame rails and theyre available for the NA6, you need to get them. It makes the car feel so much more planted and stable at really high speeds. I always say its the best addition you can make to a NA Miata. I'm hoping to keep mine a really long time.
Thanks so much man! Appreciate the kind words :) I'll let Evan know about the frame rails. He didn't delete music entirely. Just the radio. He has a bluetooth reciever behind that plate that he put in place of the radio. He connects his phone to the bluetooth reciever and plays music that way, since he never actually used the radio stations before anyway haha. I agree, music and driving go hand and hand. Have you heard of synthwave? Great driving music haha. I have subs and an amp in my daily driver civic, and I love listening to music in that car. It beats most modern sound systems I've heard, and has great bass.
@@MaxSpeedMike That's a good idea to have everything hidden and music still plays through Bluetooth. Passengers probably think it's a magic trick lol. I haven't heard of Synthwave, but I'll definitely check it out!
@@TheAdventureAuto LOL didn't think of passengers and how they probably think Evan is a magician when he starts playing some tunes. Speaking of synthwave, try Farenheit by Neon Nox, Nocturnal by The Midnight, Eyes of Madness by Dance With The Dead, and a Race Against Time by Pylot. @@trck5639 true. If you can't have fun with 100 hp, your loss. Sure, 500 horsepower could be more fun depending on the car. But when it comes to miatas, there aren't many cars for the same money that can bring the same smile to your face.

Awesome video guys. I’m looking into get a Miata for my son’s first car been doing a lot of research and this help a lot on the thing I should look for and do to one when I get it.
Please factor in the roll bar into your budget. It keeps the chassis stiffer and makes it much safer. Your son will absolutely love driving it. Get him a manual one. The miata is a great car, it teaches you car control, and I'm sure your son will learn a lot from working on it, and modifying it. Both of which are fairly easy to do, even for a complete beginner.
Looking forward to getting my first miata soon, already have soured a hardtop if I can’t find one that comes with one and have a bunch of mods I’m looking forward to cracking into, honestly can’t wait.
When you do the clutch make sure you do the rear main seal too. It sits between the motor and transmission so might as well get it done with the transmission is out for the clutch job. Congrats on the new miata man, youre gonna enjoy it for a long time!
Thank you brotha! I'll have to review my twilight mica blue NB miata soon haha. Miatas are awesome cars. Truly believe everyone who loves driving should own at least one
Got a 93 too. It needs some repairs but at least it runs alright. It does has some leaks into the trunk when it rains so I would need a new convertible top with rain rail, and taillights seals.
MaxSpeed I did recently repair some surface rust in the trunk and repainted it. I have all the drain holes opened so water doesn’t accumulate it has worked. I do have to fix my drive side fender, mirror and replace it someone did crash into me. It still drives fine only cosmetic damage. After the repairs if I do decide to keep it for a while will do some mods manual transmission swap, exhaust, intake, roll bar, and coil overs. I am tempted when I can to get. A newer miata with a manual when I can hopefully I won’t end up trading in the 93. If I can keep both I will mod my 93 a little. The new miata is good got some friends who have one they say it is good.
@@rolon-ew5kl it's an auto? Oh man. I say fix up the cosmetics and sell it, then buy a manual. Or if the car has some sort of meaning, then keep it and swap everything in. You'll have a lot of fun once it's manual!
I'm not sure what year these came out...but I believe my friends mom bought one in 1992 or so. She drove it to work everyday. We drove around in it on the weekends sometimes IF we weren't in the K10 Chevy 4x4 lifted truck. Good times. The Miata seemed so "exotic" back then. Neat car for sure.
As fun as Miatas are, I can't own one. The legroom is just not enough for me, and I feel like the pedals are too close together. I gotta stick to my roots. The inspiration for the Miata: the first generation RX-7. I've driven NAs, NBs, and NCs; but none of them compare to my FB RX-7. I got mine entirely stock and just did some light mods to help with reliability/make it simpler. The 4 bangers in the Miata just aren't quite the same as a good ole rotary, lol.
I haven't had any experience driving an rx7 yet. I know how great they are from word of mouth. I will have some cool FD rx7s on the channel this year though! Have you ever driven an s2000?
@@MaxSpeedMike I don't think I've even seen an S2k in person before, lol. The car scene where I live is pretty lame, though we get some cool stuff every now and then. FDs are pretty sick, I've not driven one, but I have seen a stock one at the dealer I got my FB from.
@@eastman5181 wow. A stock one is certainly rare these days. Anywho, try driving an s2000 whenever you get the chance. One of the purest, best driver's cars ever built.
@JP Bandit Gaming for the 12A rotary engine, disabling the smog pump and switching to a dual alternator pulley is one of the best mods you can do. The smog pump adds complexity and is a point of failure. But you still need two belts driving the water pump, so you drive the alternator with two belts instead of one. However the best mod you can do to a rotary, is to add premix. The OMP doesn't meter oil off throttle, so when idling and coasting the apex seals aren't being lubricated. But by adding premix, you get that lubrication off throttle and the double lubrication on throttle doesn't hurt. While it doesn't necessarily effect overall reliability, most people completely remove the emissions system as it's just something else to go wrong. Not to mention, it's near impossible to get vacuum solenoids for these cars anymore and the solenoid rack clutters the engine bay.
Nice. My NC 06 limited is also stock except its on Tein coilovers. I like the stance of your miata. Im 2 inches drop. Thinking of replacing the wheels. Getting Enkei. Should i go 15 or stay 17 lol. Shed some light pls
Not sure for NC miatas. Only familiar with good wheel setups for NA/NB I'd go on the forums and local fb groups to see what people run. Also try fitment industries' website since you can see a bunch of different wheel/suspension setups
Thanks brotha! He does not, but the new owner is enjoying it! Evan now has a supercharged 2000 special edition nb, and a turbo nb as well. And i personally picked up an nb miata myself :)

@@speedsquadracing6090 just check the entire car for rust. Rust is a killer on cars especially these. Everything else is relatively easy to swap; motor, transmission, interior, panels etc. Check for rust in the engine bay, trunk (near the battery and underneath), rocker panels, and pull the carpet behind the seats where the soft top sits when it's down. Notorious spots for rust
Thing about buying a miata for $ 2,500 Is you can sell them for more even after years of driving them. Especially now that they are wanted by every teenage/ young guy cause they're rear wheel drive and that = mad skids.
I want to know about the radio delete/Bluetooth adapter. I hardly ever listen to radio or cd’s so it would make sense to get rid of the radio and listen to my phone. The empty space could be used for a few gauges.
Agree with you Havnar, except for Wheels/Tires (hardly ever see "daisies" left on NA) they needed mine.... almost eveything on it came with it from Hiroshima in 1989... still has the original muffler (and no, it isn't load) but I am due to put new suspension bushings etc. in it... I mean it does have 284,000 miles on it! only "modifications" are Konig "rewind" 15" rims with 205/50-15 Federal 595 RSR tires as well as a Corksport strut tower brace... but hey 4 nuts and I can take that off or put back on in 5 minutes (I take it off for autocross so I'm not in the same class as cars with MUCH more power & mods) I just LOVE the 1.6!!! my daughter had a 1.8 & it didn't seem as "rev happy" plus you have to be a better driver to get a 1.6 to perform... it just "keeps me on my toes"....
The rev happy effect also has to do with your clutch and flywheel. My 1.8 in my NB is pretty rev happy. Glad to see another fellow miata owner enjoying their car! :)
Yea that's all i meant with the title. Stock motor lol. Some wheels, suspension, and interior mods to make the driving experience a bit more pleasurable. Goes to show how good these cars are

1991: The Honda Del Sol is trying to copy the Miata MX5 Fast Forward 2018: Miata RF copies the Honda Del Sol Lol. Facts are Facts. Also Road and Track reviewed the DelSol vs Miata and the DelSol came up on top (other than the subjective category of style) which we now know anyway the Delsol was decades ahead. This has since confirmed with the RF following suit and most super cars and hyper now taking on a similar form/look. So in the end In ALL categories the Honda Del Sol came up on top: Luggage space Theft Security Roll over Security Engine Power Economy Acceleration Deceleration Safety Price and Styling
I see your point. I love a good honda, and del sols are awesome! However, I reviewed the new ND miata, 30th anniversary edition, and for a fun driving experience, the miata comes out on top, whether you're talking the nd or na. Rear wheel drive, shifting directly from the transmission tunnel (no shift linkage like the del sol), and a nicer interior make for a better experience. However, the del sol can be modified and made to have a ton of fun with. Have a friend with a 400+hp one and she rips! Stock for stock though, as much as I love hondas, the miata is more fun. Of course that is my subjective opinion, however you need to really drive both to understand where I'm coming from.
In the miata or frs? 100 mph is not what those cars are for. They can get there fine, but they are built to take corners like a champ! Your camry is probably faster, but these cars are definitely WAY more fun :D

I'm very fortunate to have both a 1.6 & a 1.8 in my garage. Love my Miatas. Been an owner for 20+ years. Very nice video. One of the nicest bits is the sound of your car accelerating down the highway....
Wow! Your passion for these cool little roadsters is amazing! Keep enjoying them haha. Thanks for watching brotha, I appreciate the kind words! Yea evan's car sounds great, but miatas sound nice in general, especially since you can ring them out and not break too many laws lol
Joel,is there any significant difference between the two...like if the wife said one of the two had to go which one would you keep?
how much do you feel the difference in hp? (btw is it the newer 1.6 or the older one because the hp is different)
If you have the opportunity, go for the 1.8. It'a more than just a few more hp. Better motor all around for long term use, especially if you wanna boost it.
@@MaxSpeedMike thx for the quick response :)
Nice Miata! I dig the NB steering wheel swap
Thanks for watching man! Means a lot. I've been watching your channel since Eddie did a video with your beautiful nb
Saving up for a Miata and binging a bunch of videos rn it will be my first car my end goal would be to learn more and be hands on about cars also want to learn how to drift!
Perfect starter car bro! Go for it!! You'll love it.
I'm doing the EXACT same
Nice man! You got this
If you haven’t yet bought it and you’re still toying with the idea, get an NB2 (2001-2005) as they have the same solid feel as the NA but with a Torsten LSD and a little more power, which is great if you wanna learn to drift as a first car.
I have a '90 daily driver. Makes my drives to and from work fun every day.
That's why i love the Miata. It creates a fun driving experience, whether you're carving backroads or commuting around town. Always a blast!

Wow! 6"5 is tall af haha that's awesome! I'm happy you're able to fit in the miata and experience how fun they are. Keep enjoying yours 🤘

I plan on getting a NB in the future as well, congrats on your NB purchase :p
I got the NA first because not only is it a classic and first gen that started it all, its because I have emissions where im from and sense the car is so old I don't need to do any emissions on it :p
Nice man that's awesome! Haha. Enjoy your new na bro!
I’m nearly 15, i really want a mk1 for my first car, i just love everything about it, pop up headlights and a really good first car, it’s not really fast but you don’t need a fast car when you start driving, definitely my dream car for sure
Go for it dude! It will teach you to be a better driver. It is easy to work on, and to modify. You'll absolutely love it!

Dude, you need to learn to row down the gears on the way up to junction instead of just dumping the clutch. It sounds like you've got a diff bearing going as well. Smart car though, RPF1s look great on them.
He notes the mount going out later in the vid when the other guy drives,
reviewed another miata. you'll see my driving is much better in this one.
I have a daily but the miata ends up being my daily more often than not ;)
That fartcan exhaust tho sounds nice😅🔥
Lol honestly it gives the car a nice aggresive rumble at idle, and sounds good at lower rpms. It can get a bit raspy toward the higher rpms but overall it's bot annoyingly loud, and I liked it.
What is that exhaust?
@@tylerwitmer3769 It's an HKS Dragger exhaust, they don't produce the exhaust anymore but I'm sure you can find it used online somewhere. I like it for the idle, and lower rpms. Higher up it can get a little raspy but you can fix that with some modifications to the setup.
MaxSpeed a lot of headers tone down the rasp once you’re getting above 3500
@@nickelization6 you're right!
>"stock"
>lowered suspension, aftermarket wheels, smoked turn signals, NB wheel etc.
If the motor being stock means that it's a stock Miata, then like 95% of Miatas in existence are stock haha
Side note to the owner - I noticed you leave your hand on the shifter for long periods of time between shifts, seemingly with some lateral force on it.
Driving a true stock miata will put the same smile on your face
@@MaxSpeedMike I have a stock red NA and can confirm this.
Just thought it was odd to title the video that way
I had a 1993 Miata and I'm 6 foot even.
@@MaxSpeedMike 5 speed and yes
Great video. I remember when the Miata first came out and I had no idea what it was or who made it. I was in love with MGB's and I thought maybe it is the new MG..... well it was. I have a Midget now but I can see myself owning one of these one day.
It's an awesome car. Really fun to drive! If you like this and want a little more, I'd reccomend the s2000. To me, that is one of the best driver's cars ever made.

going to buy a 92 red stock w/ 140k orginal owner tmrw and im so excited to even be in one of those. Im 99% sure ill be buying it but wish me luck!!!
Good luck brotha! Once you own a miata you will be so excited. Every drive is a fun one!
Great handling cars are a lot of fun, sounds like you've got yourself a proper champ!
Love them man. Cheap, reliable, and a ton of fun to drive. Road trips in fun cars are the best! Makes me want one haha
might pick one up as a first stick car love these cars
Dude go for it!!! You'll really enjoy it
Awesome video, definitely "always the answer". I am only 5ft 10, but had to the foam trimming in my old NB, that helped a lot.

Nice dude! Im happy for ya. You're gonna love owning one. They're such a joy to drive
Just got a 90 from a cool old dude. 142k miles with a hardtop. Loving it so far but gonna need a clutch soon sadly.
When you do the clutch make sure you do the rear main seal too. It sits between the motor and transmission so might as well get it done with the transmission is out for the clutch job. Congrats on the new miata man, youre gonna enjoy it for a long time!
Feeling the love for the little red miata - great review man 🤗
Thank you brotha!
As long as you don't have any rust on your miata, I'd say keep it, clean her up nicely, and enjoy driving it everyday!

Haha. Miata being "exotic" is awesome. They began in 1990. Amazing cars especially for how much you can get one for these days.

What’s it like? Delightfully lucky... most have been trashed by teen drivers these days... they are pure drivers cars.
Agreed! They're so much fun.
Only familiar with good wheel setups for NA/NB
I'd go on the forums and local fb groups to see what people run. Also try fitment industries' website since you can see a bunch of different wheel/suspension setups

Technically this Miata isn’t stock. Although the engine is.

Lol.
So in the end In ALL categories the Honda Del Sol came up on top:
Luggage space
Theft Security
Roll over Security
Engine Power
Economy
Acceleration
Deceleration
Safety
Price and
Styling

Haha i hear ya!
great video i always wanted miata or maybe frs so far i drive a camry but this shows horsepower is overrated im sure u can get up to 100mph no problem
In the miata or frs? 100 mph is not what those cars are for. They can get there fine, but they are built to take corners like a champ! Your camry is probably faster, but these cars are definitely WAY more fun :D
What gauges are you using? I really like the look.

There isn't too much to learn about these cars. You just have to hop in one and drive it. You'll immediately be sold on it if you truly love driving
@@MaxSpeedMike Got two NBs myself. Was sold 15 years ago. :D
@@CasualGearheads nice! I would like to build a crazy nb on the channel at some point. I think you'd enjoy it
