- Kamal Kunj, standing 56 feet tall is one of the most striking pieces of hand-painted textiles on display in the #NitaMukeshAmbaniCulturalCentre. It is one of the largest ever commissioned Pichwai paintings and it aims to revive the 400-year-old art form native to Nathdwara, Rajasthan. Pichwai paintings are intricate depictions of festivities, passing seasons and other ambient elements, traditionally hung behind the idol of Lord Krishna. It has been delicately made on traditional cotton cloth using natural dyes and 24-carat gold. Make sure to check this unmissable piece of artwork on your visit to the Cultural Centre.

the detailing is gorgeous. Thank god, we have craftsmen who continued the tradition, though many can be doing less in business,money, still they continued in the sake of our culture and preservation. THANKS TO NMACC for trying to preserve the oldest living arts, and more and more of such arts, the dying arts which is withering away due to the lack of manual support should be preserved, these are our culture, heritage. Hope this will inspire more artists(small,unrecognized to some recognition) to come forward and present their art in future. NMACC should continue searching for more would-be-extinct arts from around all parts of India, and give them their deserving platform.💯

Wow, you can easily manipulate people these days. Pichwai may be there in North India ...but the style of paiting originated from kalahasti Andhra pradesh, srikakulam..this is the problem if nothing is noted...just like how we r leaving our borders to Pakistan, srilanka, china ...
