- We used a randomizer to randomize our Starter Choices in Scarlet & Violet, once we've picked our starter, we'll give them any ability BUT that ability can only be chosen ONCE!

Giving Levitate to the Regieleki is honestly a nerf in an electric terrain team, as it doesn’t get the terrain boost because it’s in the air
Especially with Earth Eater being an option

Imposter chansey is better, but imposter blissey is quite strong
Is imposter allowed? A simple ability like motor drive or misty terrain is enough to counter gbl line up

You guys should be using Earth Eater over Levitate. Its basically water absorb but for ground instead of water.
Thank you! No one ever tamed earth eater, and I was starting to think I was insane or it was a RadRed ability like Feline Prowess.
Tho with levitate you get an immunity to all hazards apart from rocks

While Eviolite Chansey with Imposter would be better, I'm unsure if they can unevolve pokemon for the battle
@@DeafGamer-ut8sgI think the rules have generally been, if it’s unevolved you can evolve it, or keep it at its current form (they don’t do that often, but I’ve never seen it happen in reverse)
Eviolite doesn’t work like that

I died watching him put Hadron engine on a Thundurus, you know, the pokemon that flies?
It beeps the Hardon Engine boost, it just doesn’t get the normal boost to electric moves
Also puts levitate on regileki so it no longer gets its normal transistor boost and can't the boost from the terrain

I really like the plan of having an eletric terrain based team, and still allowed the thunderus to get something from the ET even though it doesn’t normally
hardon engine's spa boost only works on grounded pokemon so it gets absolutely nothing from e terrain it would've been better on regieleki bcz it's grounded and uses primarily electric type moves
@@thecreationist3216 the special attack boost works wether or not the Pokémon is grounded. I agree that it would have been better on regi so it could get the terrain boost. I checked before I made my original comment specifically so people wouldn’t come and say I was wrong

Hadron Engine also boosts the Pokémon's Special Attack stat by roughly 33% (or more precisely, by a factor of 5461/4096) on Electric Terrain. This boost will occur even if the Pokémon is not grounded.
i kind of want to see you guys do this in reverse. pick the ability first (however you want ie choosing, wheel,dice, etc) and then choose from the random starters who should get it

a CONVINCING victory by luke here. vinny was checked ALL the way out for this one. didn't even remotely take the battle seriously. couldn't even be bothered to use a ground terra.

I'm 95% sure Hadron Engine's effects don't work on pokemon immune to ground, aka flying types and levitating pokemon, so the thundurus used here didn't get the special attack boost, BUT. It's still part electric so it's electric moves get boosted in terrain regardless.. again I'm not 100% sure if I'm right or not,
it should be the other way around

Actually, it's the other way around. Hadron engine does boost thundurus special attack even with it not being effected by electric terrain. It does not get a boost to its electric type moves though since it has to be grounded.
@@RadiantAether actually it doesnt get any boost at all to get both boosts you need to be grounded go on showdown and test it on game modes like almost any ability i was using zapdos with hadron engine than i realized he didnt get any boost cuz he is part flying

I'd pick "Well-Baked Body" from Dachsbun's ability.
I like the fact that this ability made Dachsbun completely immune to all Fire Type moves! It helped me with one of the Raid battles!
Just something to note, while giving Thundurus Hadron Engines boosts its Special Attack, it doesn't get an extra boost by the Terrain itself because it is a Flying Mon so it doesn't touch the terrain.

He only gets the special attack boost from hadron engine, but not the extra terrain boost

Vinny forgot the one ability that shuts down electric gym's, lightining rod. it started off just as a redirect. now it's redirect and electric immunity.

The Hadron Engine based team strat is insane. You get so much more team diversity here then how it would normally so it gets much more crazy.
I like the immunity abilities like sap sipper, storm drain, etc

I read that the difference between them is that one keeps its boost when ability copied and the other gets reduced, that true?
@@T-ZillaSaur when huge power gets copied with an ability or a move it gives only 1,5 times attack while pure power gives 2x attack

It will not affected by terrain but the ability still boost its stat, I think?

I have a fun idea for a challenge. Could y’all please catch eight Pokemon of your choice that all have random abilities. Both of you also get to pick out the move sets after catching the Pokemon. Once you both acquire teams, read off each of your team members’ Pokedex entries. If the one being read to correctly identifies a Pokemon entry, he gets the option to force a trade without knowing the moveset of the identified Pokemon. The player who gets the identity correct is also able to pick out a custom ability for the traded Pokemon. Sabotaging some of your own team members is legal. Let’s say that the two leftover Pokemon with easy Pokédex entries are physical attackers like Machamp. You can rigg the entire moveset to be special or support moves. The Pokemon can’t be pseudo legends, legends, paradox, ultra beast, mythical or, starters to make it a bit more challenging.

Thundurus Therian is 10 points slower than his incarnate form, and if you aren't out speeding Garchomp in Gen 9 then you're too slow.
Vinny not picking volt absorb as Luke crafts his team is wild
actually, that tauros was better off with normalize than adaptability due to one simple reason. adaptability replaces your 1.5x stab with a 2x one, while normalize stacks with stab (1.5x1.5=2.25). the difference is even greater with tera normal
Adaptability + tera = 3x
Normalize + tera = 3.37x
Drafting the abilities with a points system next time would be fire. More uncommon or niche abilities get taken.
One of these days I want to see a choice band slaking with scrappy as the ability, extreme speed as the illegal move, normal as it's tera, and a belly drum baton passed to it. Thing would destroy everything and even a ghost type couldn't stop it

I know Huge Power is banned this video, but I am kind of surprised nobody has ever tried Deoxys Defense with Huge Power to make it an offensive and defensive threat. With Huge Power, it's attack would be between Regular and Attack form, not bad at all.

Ok so with a randomizer, the team I got with abilities are as follows
Infernape- contrary
Mightyena- strong jaw
Decidueye- flash fire
Garchomp- pure power
Kyogre- primordial sea
Calyrex/ice rider - beast boost
Honestly one of the best then we fights ive seen because of the rain/electric team. I love seeing creative teams
Changes I would have made to Vintendo's team:
Scovillain (Contrary), STAB Leaf Storm and Overheat
Blissey (Impostor), High HP and steal everything the opp has.
Tauros (Gorilla Tactics), Choice Scarf + Gorilla Tactics + STAB Double Edge
Walking Wake (Lightningrod), with Tera Water you are only weak to Grass, which you can cover with Scovillain
Deoxys Defense (Ice Scales), 3/4 of Luke's team at that point lean Special, so buffing Special Defense makes more sense to me.

Like the theme, but a good spin on this video would be opponent chooses your team, you pick the abilities. Would likely be a welcome challenge.
Water Bubble. Easiest the best ability for a water type pokemon. Doubles the power of water type moves, halves fire attacks (doubles resistance), AND entirely prevents burn? In terms of these kinds of battles, a pokemon with Water Bubble, Mystic Water, Tera Water, and Aqua Jet can sweep teams. Maybe throw in a little Swords Dance action?

TBH, regieleki getting Levitate was such a nerf compared to Transistor. Even earth eater would’ve been better but since you got some Electrics, earth eater would be great, instead of just being immune
I think a good spin on this is you turn and look at your starters and you list off what ability you'd give to them and your opponent picks your mon without seeing them based on just what ability you'd give them. So you are giving custom abilities but your opponent doesn't know what mons their giving you.
Vinny taking a simple iron boulder is cool, but I’d have kept his normal Ability… use Luke’s Terrain against him…

Vinny totally missed the opportunity to take an Imposter Blissey.
For those who don’t know, transform copies all the stats and stat changes of the opposing Pokemon EXCEPT for HP. This means that whatever Pokemon it transforms into now has a maxed out HP stat due to Blissey’s HP stat being the max it can be. So, if you switch it in on a defensive mon, it becomes pretty much unkillable.
Should do one where you have to take the worst of the 3 but you can give it any ability you want to see if it becomes cracked
