    they actually very much upgaded bots tho! they go for objects, they can attack u, etc. ofc they are still easier to fight than real players, but they at least are improved lol, on late game u can even get materials from them or credits

    I played this originally on mobile (black survival) and jumping from that to this was VERY much shocking lol.
    And you're absolutely on point with the bot games. Sometimes i use them for practice and i remember thinking "the most inaccurate thing is the bot killing me and letting me Revive 💀"
    I play on the North America server and i can say over there from my experience its been fairly friendly and helpful! I've had 2 different teammates give me tips.
    This was a good video and 100% would love to see a lore video!

    I was just watching another of your videos and this popped up lol, so I started playing this game like, this morning, it's so much fun, the only thing is that in the menu or the "plan"/"build" page the things are in a different language any idea on how to fix it?

    • @grubbiez
      @grubbiez  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@TheMangoOwl I think you might be referring to the build plans that have been made by Korean players haha. That's just the title of the build, and unfortunately there's nothing we can do about it at this moment. But! Nimble Neuron has said they have an in-game translator in the works tho, so fingers crossed that will be released next season-ish? 🤞
      If you're curious about what "right" items to build, you can go to dak.gg and look up your character there and see what people are building! Hopefully that helps! 🙏

    • @grubbiez
      @grubbiez  หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      @@Chabs4632 There are the Challenges you can complete in game and every time you complete one you get a little nugget of lore! You can also read the characters backstories through their character pages if you want a little more there. Where I've found the most is through a group that is trying to bring back the mobile game, now called "Project Lumia" which if you are interested in they have PVE enabled and are working on the PVP currently AFAIK! You can also check the Eternal Return wiki as well for some more lore on certain background characters like Dr. Nadja. 💙

      There is a Google doc containing the research journals from isbs (predecessor game that eternal return is based on) which gives a lot of lore for the individual characters that were out on immortal soul at the time as well docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1McyWxKYdtUD3rC8zsLMfFOvbHI6jC_1okGU_6kKJVh8/htmlview

    I first tried this game like 2-3 years ago. It was so hard to get into. I tried a few more times but I just couldnt stick it even in bot games. When I did get out of them I was miserable. After getting tons of experience in other games I felt more ready to tackle ER again this past March. I fell in love. I finished 3 battle passes in the span of 2 months. It's hard finding a main with so many cool characters though.

      @grubbiez  หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@aliencreative9360 I feel this so badly when it comes to picking a main. It's gotten to the point where I've got three characters in one role that I just kind of rotate around at this point. 😅 I'm glad you came back to the game tho!

    Hey Grubbz,
    So I have an issue with the game. I'm sort of new to Mobas. I've played them before but on a super casual level and never "got-good" at the genre.
    I'm more of a FPS/Strategy/Fighting Game type guy. In this case, I'd like to emphasize the "Fighting-Game" aspect.
    I'm used to having all the tools to "lab-out" a situation in a fighting game. I can watch a replay and instantly recognize what I got hit with, what setup my opponent used and start building counterplay to that. However, in a Moba like Eternal Return, I find that it's more numbers oriented and it's incredibly hard for me to visually recognize or understand what happened in a fight or why my team and I lost. I understand that there are characters that are outright squisher than others, and I recognize that some characters just deal much more damage than others.
    However in late game, I have trouble understanding why some teams can just burst down my character and team even though we're fully kitted out with some gold items in a few seconds. It's even more frustrating when my team also manages to survive for a few seconds but it doesn't look like we did any damage even when we got our fair share of hits off on them.
    I know that this is kind of a loaded question and the answer is entirely dependant on what happened in the games I lost. I'm really only looking for 2 answers right now, that being what are the rule-of-thumb stats or expectations I should have for gold items on the various slots. Like, I understand that gold and red weapons give players more DPS and people who have them will do more damage, but what do the other slots like accessory, head, boots and body generally do? Like, body and boots do give more defense and movement speed, but what other bonuses should I look out for when I'm engaging someone with them.
    Second question is, why do some engagements feel like I'm hitting a steel beam with my character and I pop because of it? I get that a character like Magnus is a tank and is supposed to be healthy, but sometimes I feel like I do no damage to Nikes or other "bruiser" type characters even though I'm playing a Bruiser or an Assassin type? This is also generally in a 1v1 after I get purples during the first night or start of the second day and I'm trying to contest a tree or meteorite.
    If you (or anyone) could give me some guidance, that'd be really appreciated.

      @@TheSonicfanx1 Hi! This is a really awesome question, and lucky for you I actually have some experience playing fighting games at a competitive level haha. 💙
      So you probably understand already that while the hype behind fighting games and Mobas are similar it really is like comparing apples to oranges. Fighting games are very fixed when it comes to variables and it comes down to the main rock-paper-scissors element--obviously there is way more to that than just that but at its core that's a safe way to explain fighting games. MOBAs (especially ER) have a lot more variables so making determinations as to why you are/weren't successful is much harder.
      There is no way to lab anything out but instead you have to go back and watch recordings and see what elements happened that caused the fight to result in a loss. Is it that you hesitated? Did they kill your ally in the middle of the fight and get CD resets/health back? Was your positioning just bad? Unfortunately you can only really tell by watching it after the fact and understanding what went wrong. The only way to really get better is to train your game sense by playing--a lot. And reviewing your gameplay, also a lot. 😅
      Items you should familiarize yourself with which ones you are running into the most. Usually certain items are better than others, so you will see them more often than others. Force core items are going to be much better scaling than other material items just because they're more expensive. Every head/arm/leg piece does something different, especially when we start adding unique passives to the mix. Because I don't know what type of character you are playing I can't help in that regard. A way to explain that might help is that instead of thinking in terms of rock-paper-scissors like fighting games, try understanding that certain characters are rock, certain characters are paper, ect. There are some that are meant to burst tanks, and some that are not. An assassin is not going to take down a bruiser easily, it's not gonna happen. You have to have good game knowledge in order to really succeed in those tough fights, especially if you're on an even playing field in terms of skill.
      I hope that helps! 💙 If you have anymore questions or want me to clarify please let me know I am more than happy to do so!

    what kind of comp and characters go well with laura? im confused what kind of tank/support/adc goes well with her. also the bots might've changd since the last update. noticed a pretty big difference whn using practice mode on hard but i dont know if it was in the patch notes

    • @grubbiez
      @grubbiez  หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@aholegames4207 I like playing Laura with another dive character personally, but I am also still learning her and make boo boos with her quite a bit so it kind of helps me cover up my mistakes LOL.
      Pairing her with someone that can help lock someone down would be great. Even tho Laura has good mobility it's limited due to having to land her Qs on something to reset the cooldown on her dash. I also think that while she can engage well by herself it's a little awkward in a group setting sometimes haha so that's why I like another dive character or someone that can help engage. Any support I think works well with her, esp if they have hard CC.
      Laura's shortcomings is that while she has great mobility she has to Q to keep on you. Nothing to Q = no more dashy dash. So having adcs with good poke and range is also good so when Laura can't continue the chase, someone like Katja or Rio can help clean up. :)
