i entered a cycle race in majorca 1981, i was at the back and struggling to keep up but kept going, you`ll never walk alone and all that sort of thing , i ended up finding the strength to carry on and Won! everyone else had gone the wrong way .

Bottle conditioned banana bread beer is really nice and when Wells used to make it, it was fantastic. I used to get it for Christmas but I couldn’t find it for awhile. They sell that version, in bottles, in my local Asda. Might have to give it a try. Cheers.

I used to drink Banana Bread beer quite often as it was sold in my local Sainsburys in a glass bottle, but it suddenly vanished and is quite hard to get hold of now, I think it was also a different company.
I haven't had banana beer in a while used to go to tremblingmadness over 4000 beers to choose from in York , you name it they had it you can order online.

That made it even funnier when she beat Ted, then relented, showing she was a decent person. Niamh did a wonderful thing, by getting Mrs Doyle a night off every week. She took Mrs Doyle to the best restaurant on the island, AFAWCT for a free dinner, then scolded her for eating meat. Niamh wasn't perfect. That _is_ humour. Outside of Disney, *no one* is perfect. _Summary: that episode did not take the church's side, or put a positive light on it. Also, the singer, Niamh, was shown as someone with unrelenting, near dogmatic views. A great contrast. 🤔 However, Niamh did the kind and decent thing, allowing the fathers to stay in the parochial house, _and_ negotiated regular respite for Mrs Doyle._ Best Wishes. ☮ I've visited the USA several times each year for a decade. Then lived and worked there for most of another decade. *All* of my friends, colleges and acquaintances had normal senses of humour. Are you one of those mythical Americans who don't understand irony? 🤔
@@gbulmer Well I am Catholic and Irish and around this time in 1996 was when it was exposed that thousands of women were locked up by the catholic church from the 20's to the 90's for being unwed and pregnant. They were forced to work in commercial laundries while thier babies were sold to Rich Americans or Forced to give up their kids 'better' Irish people. So I know what I'm talking about the singer was in the right. Priest helped cover up around 70 years of abuse, neglect, inhumane treatment of children and women. We're discovering mass graves of children in Ireland. So please don't tell me what I actually know about and even have relatives who went through this.

Looking back on this episode it's weird that they take the church's side when it comes to sexism seeing how badl they treated women here.
I agree the women were very badly treated in this episode. However, I don't understand your comment _"... they take the church's side when it comes to sexism ..."._ I didn't notice anything. What did you see which caused you to fell that?

@@gbulmer Because Ted said not all priests are like that and puts up a fake front about being progressive when really he was a fraud. and makes the singer seem over judgemental towards the church but was actually in the right.

Do you *disagree* with _"Because Ted said not all priests are like that ..."?_ So, do you believe all priests *are* like that? I'm not Catholic. I dislike the Catholic church for all of its positions than come to mind. However, like Ted, I also don't think *ALL* Catholic priests _are_ sexist misogynists.
You went on _"... and puts up a fake front about being progressive when really he was a fraud ..."._ We agree Ted was clearly fake. He wasn't fooling anyone in the audience. So by being *very clearly fake*, Ted undermines himself. He make himself a figure for ridicule, and, hence, also makes the church ridiculous. That seems to be absolutely the _opposite_ of the episode taking the church's side.
The singer *was* an extreme character. That's part of the humour. More than one party can be "wrong" in comedy, and for different reasons. Comedy isn't limited to only two positions; it can be more than "black or white".
The singer held exaggerated views. That made it even funnier when she beat Ted, then relented, showing she was a decent person. Niamh did a wonderful thing, by getting Mrs Doyle a night off every week. She took Mrs Doyle to the best restaurant on the island, AFAWCT for a free dinner, then scolded her for eating meat. Niamh wasn't perfect. That _is_ humour. Outside of Disney, *no one* is perfect.
_Summary: that episode did not take the church's side, or put a positive light on it. Also, the singer, Niamh, was shown as someone with unrelenting, near dogmatic views. A great contrast. 🤔 However, Niamh did the kind and decent thing, allowing the fathers to stay in the parochial house, _and_ negotiated regular respite for Mrs Doyle._

I've visited the USA several times each year for a decade. Then lived and worked there for most of another decade. *All* of my friends, colleges and acquaintances had normal senses of humour.

@@gbulmer Well I am Catholic and Irish and around this time in 1996 was when it was exposed that thousands of women were locked up by the catholic church from the 20's to the 90's for being unwed and pregnant. They were forced to work in commercial laundries while thier babies were sold to Rich Americans or Forced to give up their kids 'better' Irish people.
So I know what I'm talking about the singer was in the right. Priest helped cover up around 70 years of abuse, neglect, inhumane treatment of children and women. We're discovering mass graves of children in Ireland.
So please don't tell me what I actually know about and even have relatives who went through this.

They were Nazi-level atrocities.
I am not a Catholic. I can't defend that church. I will only say, not all Nazi's were hung or imprisoned.
