I'm a huge Chris Isaak fan and have seen him play live 4 times. I love him! In an interview on a show here in Australia he talked about how he wrote this song ... he was in a less than healthy relationship and he wrote this in the time it took for the woman he was seeing to drive to his house! Also, he describes himself as the love child of Elvis and Roy Orbison. George I think it was watching Wild at Heart with this song that got me into Chris Isaak too :-) He has so many great songs - Blue Hotel, Blue Spanish Sky and Somebody's Crying are just 3. Baby Did a Bad Bad Thing is also well known and was on the soundtrack for Eyes Wide Shut.

No throwing shade. I LOVE this song, and unless you have really good control of your voice, it's not an easy thing to sing, either, the way it bounces between throat voice and falsetto (and try your best to hold that last high note the way he does for as long as he does; that takes a whole lot of work and/or God-given talent). Maybe Ryan would have liked it better if you'd been watching the actual video: Chris and Helena Christensen, shot in black and white, naked on a beach. Hottest video ever. Captures the seductive essence of the song perfectly.
Definitely watch her live concert that was released on video in 1994. My hubby is a rock-jazz guy, but was not familiar with her until I introduced him to her when we were dating in 1988 (I also introduced him to Teena Marie, Luther, etc.). When this concert came out on vhs I bought it, and we watched it together. He was smitten. He loves Sade’s voice, the music,, and her band, but had no clue what she was like on stage. 🖤
Before I watch, I'm more or less a Metalhead and I love this song. The way it's executed, especially the guitar and vocal. It's haunting and dark yet totally melodic. It sucks you right in... it's on my playlist
A Perfect Circle - TalkTalk Tool - Vicarious Volbeat - Still Counting Puscifer - Telling Ghosts Blind Guardian - Imaginations From The Other Side I'll repost this until the cows come home if i gotta :v.
I love love this song and still remember when it was released in the early 90's and this song stuck out beautifully against the 'hair metal', 'pop' and the 'grunge' that was taking over at the time. This song doesn't land any one genre comfortably...but it is so beautiful.
Absolutely amazing song. You should do hallelujah by Jeff Buckley. Originally by Leonard Cohen, it’s one of the most covered songs ever. But Jeff’s version is now the gold standard.
All my metal head friends used to make fun of me for liking this song back in the day. The sound of the guitar and his voice just really sounds good to me.
I love a ton of old school funk, lots of prog, Zeppelin, etc., and I also love this tune. It's got a great melancholy vibe, and since there's a connection to David Lynch, you could even make the argument there's a touch of sinister in it as well. It has a sort of understated simmering, and that simple guitar part is classic.
OMG George! I am shocked! I was laughing so much with y'all that I had to stop the video several times to recover! PLEASE do some Disturbed reactions, especially "Sound of Silence" and "The Vengeful One" (with videos)...thanks my brothers!!

Captures the seductive essence of the song perfectly.
I Have always loved this song.
Love this song and Chris Isaak I just close my eyes and swoon and sway and want to cry for him.
you need to react to Sade!
LOVE THIS SONG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! On my top 10 songs list....Chris Isaak is fantastic!!!
“Don’t Make Me Dream About You” and “Wrong to Love You” are two of my favs by Chris Isaak.
Before I watch, I'm more or less a Metalhead and I love this song. The way it's executed, especially the guitar and vocal. It's haunting and dark yet totally melodic. It sucks you right in... it's on my playlist

Have you heard HIM's cover. There are many metal covers of this tune.
@@GorgeousRoddyChrome
I think I've heard some, but I'll check them out. Thanks
I’m hardcore into metal, like hard hard metal and this song is excellent. The video for this video was hot as hell too.
Same here. Neck deep in metal but I love Chris man. Great artist, have some great songs, and cool guy too 👍
When this came out in the 90's, it was unlike any thing out there.
It came out in 89.
@@nesk2011 close enough. I was 19.
I like you picking your own songs. You can expose us to your music as we expose you to yours. Great idea always like to hear different music
It's from David Lynch's wild at heart
One of my favorite movies ever.
CLASSIC...Wild at Heart...this is so brilliant.
PS this song is amazing
A Perfect Circle - TalkTalk
Tool - Vicarious
Volbeat - Still Counting
Puscifer - Telling Ghosts
Blind Guardian - Imaginations From The Other Side
I'll repost this until the cows come home if i gotta :v.
I love love this song and still remember when it was released in the early 90's and this song stuck out beautifully against the 'hair metal', 'pop' and the 'grunge' that was taking over at the time. This song doesn't land any one genre comfortably...but it is so beautiful.
I love this song guys!
Love you both! Great pick, George. This song was so unique, smooth, & sexy...
"Black Flowers" by Chris Isaak
You should do a Roy Orbison song. "Crying", "In Dreams", or "Its Over".
Eric Moore Black Flowers from Speak of the Devil album is wonderful errie tune.
I love Chris Issac! But IMO he's more like Roy Orbison than Elvis. Especially in this song. I like the personal picks idea.
He also sounds like Roy Orbison
love re-visiting these older videos and you guys crack me up again....Ryan ain't havin it
OMG George! I am shocked! I was laughing so much with y'all that I had to stop the video several times to recover!
PLEASE do some Disturbed reactions, especially "Sound of Silence" and "The Vengeful One" (with videos)...thanks my brothers!!
Greg Potter yes. Been asking for Sound of Silence for months
Jennifer Delp Yes, lets get these guys on the ball...lol
Legion of Monsters would be another awesome first Disturbed song
If you just pay them one dollar a month on patreon you'd see they already did!! ;)
Margaret Gardner Considering the comments are three weeks old, I think they probably are Patrons of LIV. ;)
Good advice in general, though.
I love this song it's a great song good job George
You should've played this with the video dude, that video is fire!!!!!! Damn! 👌💥🔥🔥🔥
😂😂😂 you guys are hilarious
I hope all of your subscribers check this video out and don't just pass on it because they "don't like Chris Isaac". They'll be missing out on some LiV comedy gold right here. Good stuff 😂
🔥🔥🔥 his voice so unusual, the song, the words, the guitar, his style, his looks-so hot and the video 🔥 ge is not an Elvis copy, he is def his own persona and style!! Love him ❤️
I am a metal head but fuckin LOVE this song
Check out the H.I.M. cover.
