  • This is a full independent review of the Heta Icon Eclipse, we test the stoves real world performance in:
    Clean glass
    Fuel economy
    Ease of lighting
    And controlling
    I also give my views and a bit of background information. The videos are designed to be quick with only the key information, but you are welcome to ask questions in the comments.
    We are a little independent channel that started doing this purely for a love of the industry. Over time it has become what we do, and we have been fortunate enough to cover our costs and make living. This is achieved through:
    Manufacturers sending us stoves, that they allow us to keep.
    Some paid work, making videos for TH-cam or a manufacturers own website.
    Your views and the ad revenue generated.
    and our little shop here on TH-cam.
    Thank you so much to all of you for your support!!!
    If you would like any further information about the stove or us please feel free to drop me a comment or you check can out the manufacturers page here:

    Another great review - thanks. For those liking the modern Scandi style but not wanting to spend Termatech, Contura, DG or Morso level money / plus costly curved glass, this Heta looks a real winner. Superb control, if lacking an ash pan and auto air.
    It's good Heta have followed other Scandi types like Hwam to make a near full feature stove that is nearer £2k than £3k+. They will sell lots, if the popularity of the competing Hwam Wiking range is anything to go by. The side glass at night would really bring the hearth to life, noting it will cast reflections and slightly alter burn chamber thermal properties over a vermiculite wall.
    Must be a top 5 stove in its class for value and looks great as a feature 5kw stove built to stay looking smoooooth.
    Look forward to reviews of the rivals.

    Love your video’s! Could you perhaps show us some expert level overnight burn? I just got a new Dik Geurts Jannik medium and I’m reluctant to fill it up way above the maximum advised weight of the wood. Which is really low.

      This!! I want to see expert level 🎉

      You don’t really need to over fill. Just allow logs to burn down to charcoal and then re-load. As long as you re-load, you will build it up, and it is this that will give you a huge burn time. Your stove is particularly capable of a long burn, so you shouldn’t struggle to get a very good, long burn.
      Thanks for the video idea though, I will find an opportunity!

    Awesome vid - still waiting on Contura to sort you out with a 800’series model to review 😅
    Also like the “start big” comment - I think people sometimes get into a competition of “how little kindling can I use to light my fire” 😂

      How big is the room?
      How will it be used, just for the evenings or more seriously?
      What is your main fuel, wood or coal based fuels?
      Finally, what do you like the look of, stove wise?
      Let me know and I can suggest some ideas.

    Good morning. Can you please advise if this stove was used with the defra kit Insitu. It closed down very nicely. Thanks

      @TheTortoise  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I didn’t remove a kit and it says DEFRA approved as standard, so I definitely believe that it was DEFRA approved (there was also no kit in the stove that could be added. That said, I agree, it was superbly controllable.

    Hi. I take it that's a bottom row of air inlets as well as top row ?

    • @TheTortoise
      @TheTortoise  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yea, HETA’s solution for lower air is quite clever. I believe they were the first to design air systems like this.

      @@TheTortoise I've always thought a lower air intake would work well especially when needing a good blast to get fire started. Will expect to see this on a lot of stoves soon.

      It’s certainly getting more and more common.
