Miss Mississippi Pageant 1992

As a Mississippian I’ve always wondered how well Amy Showalter would have done at Miss America. I went to college with her and she was the sweetest and also had a great singing voice as well.

THANKS @PageantsHayDay for posting? I needed a jogging of the mind for that year as I was in the audience and it was all a blank. now looking back its interesting how the winner didn't make top 10 2 years before and how 2 future Miss Mississippi's were not called to the top 5. This pageant also showed why I always thought Missy Hurdle should have placed higher than 4th at Miss America...

Laura Williams was 1st runner up in 1992 and 1993. Amy Showalter was 2nd runner up 3years in row 1991, 1992 and 1993.

Yep, I was always dumbfounded how Laura was ahead of now 2 former Miss Mississippi’s but never made it farther.

Showalter kept coming back and kept doing the same old marimba song over and over and over. She just didn't have that sparkle she had the first year. Honestly I thought Laura Williams was better than the winner.

I can't believe that Holder was not in that top 5! Omg, what a talent! She won the following year tho and should have!

@@pageantsheyday I always wondered, if you look back at 1989 pageant she was very very raw. She came a long way.
