I'm still looking forward to more coffee & beers with you but wholly understand, and look forward to your future adventures. You've really highlighted life in Ha Long life quite well!
Steve, it’s a bittersweet moment to hear that you and your family are packing up and heading back to sunny Australia! While it’s a sad day for all of us fans who have loved watching your incredible videos from Ha Long Bay and beyond, it’s also an exciting new chapter for you and your family. I just want to say how much I’ve truly enjoyed your content as your videos have been such a joy to watch, full of life, culture, and adventure. You’ve given us a window into a beautiful part of the world, and it’s something I’ll really miss in the future. Wishing you and your family all the very best as you settle back in Australia. I hope this move brings you as much happiness and fulfilment as you’ve given to us through your videos. Hopefully, we can keep in touch in some way, mate. Stay safe and take care! Cheers, Brenden
You’re doing what’s best for the family unit. We wish you all the best. We’re seriously going to miss your videos. They’ve shown us the quirks and beauty of Vietnam through a “regular” guys eyes. If you pop up again on TH-cam you can be sure we’ll be watching!
Aussie Steve? Well I have to say I’ll miss ya! I’ve only been watching for 6 months or so and really enjoyed your videos. Cheers 🥂 Hope you continue to do what you enjoy.
You going to miss that view, Steve. You are going to hit Aussie right in height of summer. But not so muggy as Vietnam summer.. Best of luck to you and the family in your new adventure. Happy New Year Dude.
I've only started watching your videos in the past month or so, but do enjoy your Vietnam videos. I hope everything works out ok in the move for you guys. It may be tough for your wife due to both the language barrier and such a big cultural shift but with you and the girls all there together you all should be ok. I'm currently visiting Hanoi and would love to stay indefinitely, but also have school aged children who need to finish that back in Aus. My wife and I, and our eldest child, previously lived in Hanoi and my plan had always been to basically retire there, at least part time. i.e. split my time between both countries. I love living in Australia but equally love Hanoi and northern Vietnam so its a hard choice to make.
Just because the location is going to change doesn't make you any less Vietnam Steve. We all know that while your body will be in Australia, your heart will always be in Vietnam. I also want to warn you that once you start a creative process like you have, even when it is a hobby, you will always find yourself wanting to document things. We watch because of who you are, not where you are. I am also curious who will be craving to go back to Vietnam first. You or your family. It is a big change for all of you and not everyone is as enamored by the west once they get into it and see how it operates. Haha Good luck on your adventures and I am sure that we will see more of you here.
Good luck with family in Aust mate. The education system here is way better than back in VN for sure and I can understand why you would want to come back here for the kids. I just stumble to your channel today so will definitely watch all your videos :) I miss VN heaps and am looking forward to my next trip.
Just hope you've made the right decision, remember, the cost of living in Australia is crazy, plus adding school fees onto that 😩. Ive lived in Cambodia, Vietnam, Malaysia and Thailand now for 10 years and the thought of ever going back to Australia gives me anxiety. I'll live here till it's humanly possible. Australian education system aint that good to be honest. Good luck anyway, I've only just come across your channel.
It's wonderful that you love being in Vietnam. However, if you're considering what's best for your family-your wife and your two angels-experiencing life in Australia could be a great opportunity. My thoughts about their choice? With your university degree and used to professional experience working with Vietnamese communities in Vietnam, I believe degrees do not matter. The differences you'll encounter will primarily be in skin color, language, and culture. To almost Vietnamese people think outside is better, especially in USA. But to me, it's not. Just let they experience the world outside. The adventure and the new experiences that living and studying in Australia with your family is not bad right?
@@VietnamSteve Just do not let them relate to bad people and things. Let they know cost of living in Australia is not cheap. And they should prepare for what is called First World First Class = Money First or How Are You? - Donald Trump
I moved away from VN for the same reason. Thinking my son should go to school abroad. It's difficult to know how things would of turned out for myself as things in VN weren't that bad and were looking quite good. I must say though that my son would of done just fine in a VN school. Looking at the rankings, VN is actually right up there. I now can't wait to get back to VN and wished I never left.
