Actually, the earliest Disney cartoons in the 1920s originally looked like this surreal and Fleischer-esque rubberhose style animation. As the 1930s rolled in, Disney progressively started retiring the 1920s "rubberhose" style in favour of improving the animation quality to the highest quality possible.
