A thing to note is that Last Wish gear drops from the chests even if you've never done the raid. Decided to take a friend when i was grabbing those chests and they got some nice stuff. Now they have a near full set of armour and a couple cruddy weapon drops.
another thing to note, you can get two chests in one run i haven't found a vid explaining this, so i'll break the process down the best i can: - load up morgeth on the wish wall and cross the chasm behind you - get the first chest that's after shuro chi, then go back to that same entrance - climb some trees until you can get to the highest platform - make a huge jump from that platform to another. it's just before the chest, and it's tricky to reach - then go to the platform that's above the chest(that has a tree) and go out of bounds - make your way to the left and into a building - fall down a hole and into a platform - walk up to the door that's on the right. it will load you into another zone which allows you to get the chest that's under the bridge hope the explanation helped

tip for titan flying he didn't mention: when you tap the jump button immediately cancel dont just sword swing after. rhythm goes jump-jump, wait a quarter of a second, swing, jump-jump, wait a quarter of a second, swing. you can fly indefinitely with this rhythm and if you're really good at it, you can even ascend while flying. so basically no need for thundercrash at all. you know you're doing it right if you get to the top of the building
Deep stone just kill all the ads at each bubble, because if you make it to the end and die you spawn at the 1st bubble but if you kill all the ads you start at the last bubble before the chest.
For the unaware, it's also possible to solo the first encounter of VoG (and get an extra chest), it may seem super hard, but it's really not and I bet most people can do it with a bit of practice, and you also won't have to do the wall glitch, (even with a macro it never seems to work consistently for me). You want a slug shotgun (any kind except void) and ratking, for invisibility on any subclass, this makes it 10x easier to solo because you'll only have to worry about the minotaurs while invis. use solar subclasses, avoid any abilities that have aoe damage (sol invictus, consecration, solar nades, ignitions etc etc) and spec into survivability as much as possible, Karnstein armlets for warlock is a good choice, for titan stronghold or just throwing hammer for cure if you prefer. You'll want healing grenade on both. For hunter, just run solar with whatever throwing knife you prefer so long as you get your knife back everytime, pair with assassin's cowl, this is easy mode compared to the other 2 classes. kill the first minotaur as you capture the plate ahead of you on the right from spawn, turn around whip out your slug and take off the head of the minotaur that spawns next to capture the plate, this will make them aggro you and ignore the plate (this is why we want no aoe damage, and max survivability, and why we avoid void slugs, cause the shield explosion will kill the minotaur) do the same on the next plate but you'll want to kill 2 minotaurs this time, kill the first one capture plate then go back where the first minotaur whose head you took off spawned (and who is currently spamming you with concussive blasts) and kill them before heading towards the 3rd plate, before going down the slope, wait for the minotaur to spawn and do the same thing take off his head so he focuses you. Run down to the third plate and kill the minotaur and capture the plate. Now the hard part you can either take off the 3rd minotaurs head now, and kite all 3 to another area (dont want any minotaur standing on their respective plate) and just swap between ratking/assassin's cowl invis, and healing nade (karnestein heal on warlock, or stronghold sword guard on titan) until the spire finishes building. Alternatively if you have a machine gun, void preferably you can take out the minotaurs that spawn to capture the 3rd plate, 1 will spawn in the corner under the overhang from the direction you came from, the other will spawn out in the field by some rocks. Takes some practice but most people can do it I wager. Took me about 3 hours to get it done the first time on all 3 classes, and took significantly less time each subsequent week as I refined my strategy (the one explained above), for an extra 15 spoils per week solo, its not bad (last season VoG gave spoils even when it wasnt on rotation, I do not know if it still does post lightfall as I haven't done it yet)
you can change your fov on current gen console too you know (ps5/Xbox Series X/S). so thats pretty much everybody since not many still play on a last gen console.
I've never needed to do that, once you get the technique down it shouldn't take you more than two or three attempts to fall through the map. The bigger tip is making sure you have your dodge left and right for your sparrow set to a single button press (I use q and e) instead of the default which is to double tap a or d.
for the RoN raid loot, I saw this from Wilhe1m Scream's video. One thing you mentioned though (that he didn't) was lowering the frame rate and showing how to do it. Much appreciated.
A few things to help. If you fail the rocket timing in garden, just respawn, place stasis at your feat and die somehow without touch any ground further than ~7m away (preferably none) from where you spawned. If the stasis crystals are still there when you respawn, they will block the spawn and get you to the chest. Also, if you don't own last wish, you can out of bounds into the raid from the dreaming city and get the first chest. It is a cool place to get high(ish) stat armor and fashion.
on Last Wish, strand hunters can also use their super to "Strandicopter" to the bridge using this method: First, activate super. Second, use both grapple charges to get out as far as you can. Third, Jump, heavy attack, jump, heavy attack, heavy attack, heavy attack, heavy attack, until your super is used up. Next use your grapple to reach the bridge. Last, PROFIT!!!
2:11 you don't need to kill enemies. Just trigger encounter then you can unlock chest. You will die to the darkness dubuff, but will respawn right where you died.
For grappling the rocket on Garden Chest 2, you can do it right in front of the closed end-gate door instead of on the side platform you used to climb. There's a Vex Field wall you'll be flying up past, and that's how you know you're definitely in the right place. Once you finish flying straight up, jump over the wall and you're golden. Saves you walking back and forth, and you also don't have to worry about jumping through turn-back zones.
For Vow, don’t kill any enemies and just complete the objectives. You can usually do it in a minute or two with 2 deaths. This is faster than killing the ogres.
12:00 another, much easier way, to get trough the invisible wall is the small steps to the right of where fallout is standing. It's next to some vex looking metal which stands out in the concrete. You can just walk trough the barrier this way.
Two corrections: 1. You don't have to kill anything except the Projection of Savathun to get the Vow chest. Dying respawns you in five seconds and moves you like a couple steps back at most. Just sparrow straight there and don't forget the cruxes. Should get it in one death if you're fast. 2. You don't have to run to do shatterskate; you can just do it from standing still.
Fun fact about VoG, it IS possible to do that opening encounter solo by shooting the heads off of the minotaurs and making them chase you so they can't recap their plates, just gotta keep them alive so they don't respawn and take the plates back. It gets you one more chest than the clipping method, but, honestly, probably not worth the effort
I just LFG "first 2 chests" every week and pretty much never have a problem getting people since the spire is so simple with no comms needed. A nice 30 spoils a week + loot
Improvement for Last Wish: Do Morgeth first. After grabbing the chest at 9:27 platform to the ledge directly above it (Strand grapple, Salvation's Grip, etc.), run left toward the roof, jump down to the broken walkway and follow it to a door which triggers a load zone (you may want to cap your FPS). You should now be loaded into Shuro Chi and can grab the chest the same way as detailed in this video. Correction for Garden of Salvation: You don't need to suicide at the load zone anymore, it takes you directly to the Undergrowth. If you have trouble replicating, I was on Hunter with a sword in my hands and approached the load zone from the the left (not the right as seen in this video).
For Vow of the Disciple, if you don't bother with the abominations the darkness does kill you, but you spawn on your orb. I just zoom through. In two deaths you're at the chest.
You can actually get both last wish chests from just the morgeth cp using an out of bounds near the morgeth chest and lowering frame rate trick. I could show you sometime Fallout or there may be a video already.
Hunters can also make the last wish gap with Strand super very easily (easier than learning skating if you have trouble with that) since it resets your grapple. you use your grapple charges then super to reset them. You can also right click with the strand super to regain (or gain) some height if you lose some.
I use to do the Deep Stone first chest when the glitch that let you not freeze was working. However, since the patch I've just been to lazy to run it. The only one I do each week is VoW for the red boarders. Once red boards come to Last Wish I'll be back to farming that chest for sure..
@@Gabriel3Gamu no you do not get spoils from the dsc chest sadly. Just the loot. I had to double check but yeah they haven't given spoils in a long time.
IIRC only Vow and RoN give spoils out of everything listed here. DSC is probably still worth it if you don't have all the red borders, as is Last Wish if any of the guns appeal to you or you don't have the armor in collections yet (e.g. Techeun Force is a good PVP fusion). I wouldn't bother farming Garden chests unless you literally don't raid, as you can't get the guns that way even if you've already unlocked them (you might want the armor for transmog though). I think King's Fall chests still give spoils? But to my knowledge there isn't a way to solo them unless you can get the appropriate checkpoints, since the opening warmup can't be solo'd. RoN first chest is also technically soloable, in that you can solo the first encounter and then just get the chest the normal way afterwards, but that's more work than most people are willing to go to, especially if you're running the raid regularly anyway. Likewise the VoG chest; the OOB is easier, but if you can't get it working for some reason, the first encounter solo doesn't seem too bad if you know the trick (only the minotaurs can capture the plates back from you, but if you damage them enough to break their faceplates, they'll run after you instead of going to the plates, so you can just kite them until the door opens a few minutes later). I haven't done it, maybe it's harder than it looks. tl;dr to Spoils-max as a non-raider, get the Vow chest by killing the Projection of Savathun and then sparrowing past the Scorn enemies (you don't need to kill anything like Fallout does, because respawning barely moves you, so it's way faster and less hassle than actually pushing the payload; you do have to start the Pervading Darkness to make the cruxes spawn, though), then grab the Nezarec checkpoint from d2checkpoints and backtrack to the chest as shown here. If you can find a Scission checkpoint, that's probably the easiest way to get the other RoN chest, but those aren't as trivial (except this week because it's the rotating challenge). Repeat across all your characters.
I just do a quick LFG for 5 other people to grab the spire entrance chest + the secret one and then just ask someone to swap with me to get a nice 30 spoils per week
FYI you get things from the free chests if you did the raid before. The only raid that give ms you weapons or armor if you did it or not last wish.. just making it clear before people get their hopes up
For all raids except last wish you need to have unlocked the weapon by completing encounters/the raid as a whole to get them to drop from the chest, so it's not really solo player viable. You need to raid to get raid loot.
For hunter players like myself who can't shatter skate yet, you can also get across to morgeth chest using strand. Jump and grapple as much as you can, pop super, grapple some more, spam heavy until super's up, grapple 2 more times
6:10 if you're on console, don't worry about turning down frames, you can't anyway, but it will still work and you won't get sent to the beginning, im on series x and it still worked
How does he do that with the grapple at 13:50? It doesn't seem to work for me at all, the tether just breaks amost immediately no matter what I press. Edit: For anyone struggling, you basically have to shoot and grapple almost simultaneously. Just press the grenade key once and nothing else.
You don’t need to shatter skate for the second last wish chest. Just eager edge and then swing non stop to go across. Just be careful to go by the turn back screen quickly
Garden of Salvation - 12:15 - If you fail to kill yourself in the right spot, backtrack to where you climbed the wall by that big green root/tree, you'll get another loading section and retry! Worked for me without having to reload the raid!
For the GoS invisible wall I had to use shoulder charge to get through. Also, if you screw up wiping when the area loads you can strand grapple back to the front to try again. Climb back up and strand berserker melee through the invisible wall.
Also worth mentioning that the Last Wish chests are the only chests in the circuit you don't get Spoils out of, but are also the only chests you get gear out of if you've never done the raid
the first garden skip does not work for me at all, tried with 30 and 300fps. saw some people saying it loads them in with a suicide, but with or without it did nothing for me.
Good news is if I don’t do the RoN on any of my other characters I’ll only be able to get the sidearm from the chest making it easier to get the red border lol
I made a point of doing this when Vow was new, hah. As long as you only run the raid on one character, the other two will always get guns from the chests since their armor isn't in collections. That said, I think over time just running the raid on all three is more practical if you have the time and desire to do so. 12 encounters, 6 secret chests, and a red border puzzle across three characters is more loot than 4 encounters, 4 secret chests, and a red border puzzle, even if two of the secret chests in the latter are guaranteed to be guns instead of armor.

it would help to show what you actualy got from each chest because there might be new players that are farming for spoils and last wish doeasnt drop any spoils from those chests
At the morgeth checkpoint, while skating and sword skating is a thing... Strand + low velocity Rocket Launcher + a bit of practice = Rocket Propelled Grapple... its kinda nasty if I'm being honest xD
Just wanted to point out: you can only get armor drops that you've gotten before, weapons will drop regardless. So if you want weapons, it's actually better to do it on a character that has never gotten any raid armor because then it'll only drop weapons
@@JuiceJub Last Wish is the only raid where the secret chests will give you gear you haven't gotten before. I recall hearing that Garden secret chests will only give armor (you've previously acquired) and mods (i.e. no weapons).
The frames only matter for saving time, you can still get the chest just fine just need a way to do the jumping puzzle without the launchers since they don't work.
You can do it on console, I've pulled that chest multiple times on my warlock (the one character that hasn't played the raid) on Xbox, I don't bother to change the frame rate and just use strand to fly over the jump puzzle bits.
Great guide! Maybe a followup video could be non-encounter solo dungeon chests (or ones with really easy solo encounters). I'm thinking chests like the first secret chest in Grasp of Avarice. I don't know if there are others like that.
Tbh every dungeon opening encounter is easy to solo apart from GoA and that's mainly because the boss has a ton of health. Prophecy's first encounter is also a boss but it's pretty easy to one phase him.
It amazes me how people still don't know that you can get the second DSC chest solo and all 4 VoG chests solo DSC 2 - before the first encounter, sparrow breach the wall, climb on top of the map, jump up and summon your sparrow, then get it to the space load zone by going down the big ramp thing, and move your sparrow to the top left-most corner of the space station (left being looking out into space towards the playable area) and jump off the sparrow. From there, go to the chest and loot it. For the other VoG chests, the first one requires you to solo the entrance, although that could be counted as an encounter, so whatever, but the other two you just need to bring a sparrow down into the first encounter area, slipstream out of bounds, and do a second sparrow breach to hit the gorgons load zone. If you go back inbounds by dying in that load immediately after hitting it, you can loot the gorgon chest by doing it normally (although if you get spotted you go back to the start). For the fourth chest, you repeat what you did for the 3rd quest but stay out of bounds until you hit the jumping puzzle load, where you then can die and spawn in map to loot the forth chest
DSC was patched forever ago, unless you have relatively recent footage of it, and I know a lot of people complain about sparrow flight being hard although I haven't sat down to learn it yet.
If you are feeling saucy, might I reccomend grabbing a Rhulk CP and watching a guide on how to get to the 2nd chest frkm Rhulk on Vow with OOB methods. Possible on all classes (I checked personally) l, but debatably not worth the effort.
1. For last wish you get the drops even if you’ve never done the raid before. You can also get to the shuro chi chest from morgeth 2. You can get an extra chest in VoG. Just go to where the door is and the chest spawns. It’s also easy enough to get an LFG team, as it’s just ad clear and requires no raid knowledge
Pretty sure there is an ivisble wall that just barely prevents you from getting the door chest if the door wasn't opened. Unless that has changed since I honestly haven't even attempted since Vog was the most recently added raid

The door chest wasn't obtainable then and never has been unless, like I said, something has changed and made the wall NOT be there anymore because like I said it was there since Vog came to D2 as far as I am aware
as a true solo still wanting to get always on time sparrow and tarrabah (tho i guess thats nerfed now) the main thing i wanna know is which chests reward spoils and how many? nowhere is that mentioned
VoW, kings fall (i think, not sure) and Ron give 5 spoils per secret chest. The best way to get spoils is to farm whatever spoilfarm there is each season. I think this season the best farm is nezarec, pretty quick encounter and you get 5 spoils per run

FYI, DSC chest doesn't drop spoils. So if you're looking just for spoils you can skip it.

You can just clear the bubble before the brigg/final bubble and it'll respawn you at that one instead of clearing them all

Note for the VoG chest: If you're on PC, change your FoV down to 85 from 105, it makes lining up the dodge/jump off much easier

If u don't like dying to pervading darkness, it's required to kill the yellow bar abominations.

You don't need to suicide at the load zone anymore, it takes you directly to the Undergrowth. If you have trouble replicating, I was on Hunter with a sword in my hands and approached the load zone from the the left (not the right as seen in this video).
For Vow of the Disciple, if you don't bother with the abominations the darkness does kill you, but you spawn on your orb. I just zoom through. In two deaths you're at the chest.

You can actually get both last wish chests from just the morgeth cp using an out of bounds near the morgeth chest and lowering frame rate trick. I could show you sometime Fallout or there may be a video already.

Hunters can also make the last wish gap with Strand super very easily (easier than learning skating if you have trouble with that) since it resets your grapple. you use your grapple charges then super to reset them. You can also right click with the strand super to regain (or gain) some height if you lose some.
can you not just rocket grapple across that gap too?
oh wild, i didn't think about lowering my frame rate in the RoN route. like it's still DOABLE without doing so but that looks slick and clean
I use to do the Deep Stone first chest when the glitch that let you not freeze was working. However, since the patch I've just been to lazy to run it. The only one I do each week is VoW for the red boarders. Once red boards come to Last Wish I'll be back to farming that chest for sure..

@@Gabriel3Gamu Spoils got removed by bungie. You only get loot that you have already unlocked. Otherwise you don't get anything.
IIRC only Vow and RoN give spoils out of everything listed here. DSC is probably still worth it if you don't have all the red borders, as is Last Wish if any of the guns appeal to you or you don't have the armor in collections yet (e.g. Techeun Force is a good PVP fusion). I wouldn't bother farming Garden chests unless you literally don't raid, as you can't get the guns that way even if you've already unlocked them (you might want the armor for transmog though). I think King's Fall chests still give spoils? But to my knowledge there isn't a way to solo them unless you can get the appropriate checkpoints, since the opening warmup can't be solo'd.
RoN first chest is also technically soloable, in that you can solo the first encounter and then just get the chest the normal way afterwards, but that's more work than most people are willing to go to, especially if you're running the raid regularly anyway. Likewise the VoG chest; the OOB is easier, but if you can't get it working for some reason, the first encounter solo doesn't seem too bad if you know the trick (only the minotaurs can capture the plates back from you, but if you damage them enough to break their faceplates, they'll run after you instead of going to the plates, so you can just kite them until the door opens a few minutes later). I haven't done it, maybe it's harder than it looks.
tl;dr to Spoils-max as a non-raider, get the Vow chest by killing the Projection of Savathun and then sparrowing past the Scorn enemies (you don't need to kill anything like Fallout does, because respawning barely moves you, so it's way faster and less hassle than actually pushing the payload; you do have to start the Pervading Darkness to make the cruxes spawn, though), then grab the Nezarec checkpoint from d2checkpoints and backtrack to the chest as shown here. If you can find a Scission checkpoint, that's probably the easiest way to get the other RoN chest, but those aren't as trivial (except this week because it's the rotating challenge). Repeat across all your characters.
I just do a quick LFG for 5 other people to grab the spire entrance chest + the secret one and then just ask someone to swap with me to get a nice 30 spoils per week

FYI you get things from the free chests if you did the raid before. The only raid that give ms you weapons or armor if you did it or not last wish.. just making it clear before people get their hopes up

For all raids except last wish you need to have unlocked the weapon by completing encounters/the raid as a whole to get them to drop from the chest, so it's not really solo player viable. You need to raid to get raid loot.

For hunter players like myself who can't shatter skate yet, you can also get across to morgeth chest using strand. Jump and grapple as much as you can, pop super, grapple some more, spam heavy until super's up, grapple 2 more times

Edit: For anyone struggling, you basically have to shoot and grapple almost simultaneously. Just press the grenade key once and nothing else.

You don’t need to shatter skate for the second last wish chest. Just eager edge and then swing non stop to go across. Just be careful to go by the turn back screen quickly

It always amazes me how people figure out these shortcuts like killing yourself in certain spots to spawn somewhere else.
Garden of Salvation - 12:15 - If you fail to kill yourself in the right spot, backtrack to where you climbed the wall by that big green root/tree, you'll get another loading section and retry! Worked for me without having to reload the raid!

You can pick up the second chest in the VotD if you go back from Rulk. Through a bug, of course
For the GoS invisible wall I had to use shoulder charge to get through.
Also, if you screw up wiping when the area loads you can strand grapple back to the front to try again. Climb back up and strand berserker melee through the invisible wall.
Also worth mentioning that the Last Wish chests are the only chests in the circuit you don't get Spoils out of, but are also the only chests you get gear out of if you've never done the raid

the first garden skip does not work for me at all, tried with 30 and 300fps.
saw some people saying it loads them in with a suicide, but with or without it did nothing for me.
Good news is if I don’t do the RoN on any of my other characters I’ll only be able to get the sidearm from the chest making it easier to get the red border lol

I made a point of doing this when Vow was new, hah. As long as you only run the raid on one character, the other two will always get guns from the chests since their armor isn't in collections. That said, I think over time just running the raid on all three is more practical if you have the time and desire to do so. 12 encounters, 6 secret chests, and a red border puzzle across three characters is more loot than 4 encounters, 4 secret chests, and a red border puzzle, even if two of the secret chests in the latter are guaranteed to be guns instead of armor.

At the morgeth checkpoint, while skating and sword skating is a thing... Strand + low velocity Rocket Launcher + a bit of practice = Rocket Propelled Grapple... its kinda nasty if I'm being honest xD

Just wanted to point out: you can only get armor drops that you've gotten before, weapons will drop regardless. So if you want weapons, it's actually better to do it on a character that has never gotten any raid armor because then it'll only drop weapons

You can also only get weapons you've had drop before, but obviously they aren't class specific.

The frames only matter for saving time, you can still get the chest just fine just need a way to do the jumping puzzle without the launchers since they don't work.
You can do it on console, I've pulled that chest multiple times on my warlock (the one character that hasn't played the raid) on Xbox, I don't bother to change the frame rate and just use strand to fly over the jump puzzle bits.

You can do the gos skip without having to die in that spot, go underneath then jump up the hole

Great guide! Maybe a followup video could be non-encounter solo dungeon chests (or ones with really easy solo encounters). I'm thinking chests like the first secret chest in Grasp of Avarice. I don't know if there are others like that.
Tbh every dungeon opening encounter is easy to solo apart from GoA and that's mainly because the boss has a ton of health. Prophecy's first encounter is also a boss but it's pretty easy to one phase him.

However both Vow and Vog still drop spoils even if it isn't the weekly raid (I believe KF does too but I could be wrong).
It amazes me how people still don't know that you can get the second DSC chest solo and all 4 VoG chests solo
DSC 2 - before the first encounter, sparrow breach the wall, climb on top of the map, jump up and summon your sparrow, then get it to the space load zone by going down the big ramp thing, and move your sparrow to the top left-most corner of the space station (left being looking out into space towards the playable area) and jump off the sparrow. From there, go to the chest and loot it.
For the other VoG chests, the first one requires you to solo the entrance, although that could be counted as an encounter, so whatever, but the other two you just need to bring a sparrow down into the first encounter area, slipstream out of bounds, and do a second sparrow breach to hit the gorgons load zone. If you go back inbounds by dying in that load immediately after hitting it, you can loot the gorgon chest by doing it normally (although if you get spotted you go back to the start). For the fourth chest, you repeat what you did for the 3rd quest but stay out of bounds until you hit the jumping puzzle load, where you then can die and spawn in map to loot the forth chest

DSC was patched forever ago, unless you have relatively recent footage of it, and I know a lot of people complain about sparrow flight being hard although I haven't sat down to learn it yet.
If you are feeling saucy, might I reccomend grabbing a Rhulk CP and watching a guide on how to get to the 2nd chest frkm Rhulk on Vow with OOB methods. Possible on all classes (I checked personally) l, but debatably not worth the effort.

just one question wouldnt it be easier to go to planets encounter for RoN?
if you only have one weapon unlocked from it's nice to not do the raid again & just farm the 3 chest every week to quickly get a pattern unlocked
1. For last wish you get the drops even if you’ve never done the raid before. You can also get to the shuro chi chest from morgeth
2. You can get an extra chest in VoG. Just go to where the door is and the chest spawns. It’s also easy enough to get an LFG team, as it’s just ad clear and requires no raid knowledge
Pretty sure there is an ivisble wall that just barely prevents you from getting the door chest if the door wasn't opened. Unless that has changed since I honestly haven't even attempted since Vog was the most recently added raid

The door chest wasn't obtainable then and never has been unless, like I said, something has changed and made the wall NOT be there anymore because like I said it was there since Vog came to D2 as far as I am aware

VoW, kings fall (i think, not sure) and Ron give 5 spoils per secret chest. The best way to get spoils is to farm whatever spoilfarm there is each season. I think this season the best farm is nezarec, pretty quick encounter and you get 5 spoils per run
