Awesome stool. I think I will make one similar this weekend. One thing I might do, though, is make the pocket holes on the back stringer on the opposite (back) side so they're not showing from the front. Nice job, and cool project!
Hey i noticed your hoodie, we pass brown county on our way to church . I really liked your step stool, Im making one for my mom now based off your design. Great work!
thanks for taking the time to video this step stool. I will make a couple of different stools but for sure one like yours! you make it look simple. will send you a pic when I get it done :-)Paul Aguirre
On 4:21 about attaching the veneer to the surface. I've seen some videos that people attached it effortlessly with an iron. Make a test piece and see whether it will works better or not.
Oak plywood is not significantly stronger than any other plywood. The veneer layer is so thin that it provides almost no strength at all. What makes a plywood strong is the core layers, the amount of voids, and the adhesive.
I was just wonder since I've never used edge banding, does it take to stain and paint real well? I notice thing with the banding and it looks like plastic and would not stain.
Don’t do the edge banding. Looks stupid! Be creative, and come up with your own ideas, so when ppl see it... You can say that, you came up with the idea, and also created yourself instead of making one like this dumbass!! You can do it! Trust and believe in yourself! Do, create and have something that No one else has. That’s what I do and that’s why I love “Custom stuff.”
Just an FYI, there are plans out there for this stool that let's you make one stool with one piece of 1x8x8. It eliminates the need for extra cutting and edge banding. I forget where I found the plans, maybe Ana White but I'm not 100% on that.
Who actually cares? Actually it doesn’t matter. You are actually very petty. All of my kids when asked a question say actually when they start an answer.

I made a very similar stool but at the bottom I cut out a decorative jig so that my stool had four feet. Nice job!
Like the pocket holes. May have to get one of those jigs. Warning: Any rag or material with boiled linseed oil on it can catch fire on it's own.

That came out great Daris! You can also use an iron to apply the edge banding. Just don't let your wife know you borrowed it! HaHa
GuysWoodshop Thanks Guy...! Yep an iron would definitely work better.

takis kail Thanks..!

Very nice. Looks great.
J.D. Ransom Thanks
If you have a look at Hyezmar’s design in his Woodworking Bible, you can get a great alternative design for this.
they are nothing without the creg system
Actually you use the word 'actually' actually too much. actually.
