That sucks about the mold! The corn we get here from the Midwest, is full of 💩.. they don't want it there for the hogs, dairy and feedlots...so it gets sent to both ends of the country. Found that out about 10 years ago. Was a bad year in the Midwest for mold and toxins. We lost a few pretty good size hog farms because of it. Sows don't breed, piglets died for no apparent reason.. then the feed got tested.
Too bad about the corn oh well there's always next year really enjoy your videos Happy Thanksgiving I hope you had a wonderful time I really enjoy your videos keep up all the hard work and you always want to thank a farmer thank you thank you for all your hard work cheers to you
Man yeah a two for one!! Oh no on the corn test results😢😢😳😳 I know nothing but it sounds really bad!! Hopefully you can mix some of the borderline stuff together like you said, that had to be a blow to the product for sure! That bale wrapper is pretty slick for sure!! 😁😁 The shed looks amazing , and so much better than the super huts it seems! Glad to see things still progressing along, hate the major setback...but hopefully y'all can get rid of those bad bags! Thank you again for the update and bringing us along!! Look fwd to seeing what's next!! 😁😁👍👍🇺🇸🇺🇸🌽🌽🍻🍻🍻🐂🐂🐂
We've been mixing some of the bad silage in for a couple weeks now, seems ok so far. Hopefully all the breeding keeps going good and we should be ok, we haven't had any cows get sick 👍👍 . Thank you sir. Hopefully things will slow down soon and I can get back to watching some yt videos again 🤞😉🍻🍻🍻🍻
I have been working on my old shit how’s the new tractor working out? Iam not sure if you remember me asking about the shifting on a 86 series IH ended up rebuilding the transmission and gears wasn’t to bad a lot of work
Jeez that sucks on that late corn. The late planted corn I chopped around nov first turned the chopper black maybe I'll have the mold and yeast checked on that. I do think that had some tar spot on it though. Two videos in one day you must be caught on things kinda🤣🤣 Im glad things seem to be going sorta ok for you, its about the same here.
We ended up getting ear worms in the corn. Apparently the verity of corn we used for our late planted stuff didn't have very good traits for that. Along with it germinating so late because of the drought
Biggest problem was ear worms got in the corn. Apparently that verity of corn didn't have very good traits for protection from them, along with it being so late in the season before it germinated because of the drought
@@hartungdairyfarm0713 the reason I ask we always pick our corn but I was thinking about chopping some for silage Never fed any silage so just wondering about what all problems to look for
I see. This is the first time we've had problems this bad with corn. Our early planted stuff was really good, but the drought really messed with the later corn
We've been putting some of the bad silage in the tmr, so far it seems ok. I'm hoping we can feed half and half of good and bad silage, but we're going to take it slow
That sucks about the mold! We use a product called appetite, from Form a feed, and we've had good luck with it for moldy feed.
I'll have to check that out. Sure didn't expect mold on the corn during a drought year
And another one!!
Good evening again Matt 🥃🥃🍻
I'm full of it tonight 🤣🤣 evening ed 🍻🍻🍻
@@hartungdairyfarm0713 you just had to get caught up. 👍😁
Nice new heifer barn. Nice way to keep the rain out of the bales.👍🍻🍻
Thank you sir 🍻🍻🍻

Yeah, I've been doing alot of reading about mold and toxins, it's pretty crazy what that 💩 can do to livestock

Wow that’s pretty cool I didn’t know you could wrap with a skid loader
It does a pretty good job keeping the rain off the bales 👍👍
Great to see you back!

I seen a few combines around here that were pretty black after running all day. Strange year that's for sure
never seen a bale wrapper like that but seems to do the job
Yeah it's pretty simple but it gets the job done👍
Do you know what caused the mold? I've never heard of corn doing that

What made the silage mold like that?

I will try to figure that out. Thanks for watching
The mold shit sucks I hope you can blend that somehow

I guess the mold was caused by the weather conditions>
Yep. Between the drought and ear worms getting in the corn, it sure made a mess of the late planted stuff
@@hartungdairyfarm0713 I sometimes grow corn in my garden to attract the bugs, then cut it and throw it to my ducks! They love it!
