I completely agree. I dont understand why we glorify mental torture here in india.
I remember students at my neet coaching talking about parental pressure, money and prestige to be the reason why they wanted to pursue medicine. I'm happy I chose to talk to doctors about my plan to be a doctor and discuss what my career and life would be like before taking a firm desicion. This video needs to be seen by NEET UG aspirants
edit: a friend of mine went to private college to spend over 1 cr on mbbs degree just for job security. I feel terribly sorry for him 🤧

There are many NEET Aspirants here so my message for them :
    1. If you are thinking medical as a safe option/ career you're absolutely wrong, this profession asks for more than giving to you. Don't really fall into the traps of Medico vloggers , I have seen few of them and all of them are BS, they make money by your views.
    2. This BJP Govt has somehow picked that MBBS can be a centre around politics, so they somehow try to make it as their vote card. Eg : Hindi MBBS Course in MP (Shivraj should work on improving the IMR which is highest in MP)
    ,Increased reservation
    3. Toxic Work Culture : MBBS is fine but you'll eventually face a very toxic work culture which people have normalised by saying ki PG h
    4. For Student of General Category I directly speak to you : Bhai MBBS me aate hi USMLE/ PLAB ki tyaari krlena, mai late hogya ( Batch 2015) you still have time, tumhari izzat nhi h yha..bahar jaao waha ka racism face krna is way better than yha ka face krna

Sir I've been following your channel since the last three months and I really appreciate the way you're guiding aspirants like us. You make us see not only the good parts of the medical profession, but also the unglamorous negative parts. Money and respect are important to almost everyone, yes. But I truly believe that your drive to actually be dedicated to your profession is the most important thing to be good at it. I really really want to become a doctor, not for the reasons most people want to, but because i don't see myself doing anything else for the rest of my life. I truly love biology and everything about medicine fascinates me. Will definitely come back in a few months to comment that I finally realised my dream. Wish you a great day ahead sir!

4:26 I appreciate your rigour for shedding light to this specific topic. This is quite the problem in India where we think - oh! This person is a high grade officer he/ she must be open minded- this presumption comes from us because we have associated it with the status/ hierarchy. The fact is that high academic education doesn't not guarantee you that one would be less rigid/ conservative.
It's really frustrating when we, as a society, are determined to put people inside boxes that mustn't be there in the first place.
Kudos to you for not allowing such scrutinization to shatter your spirits.

They don't understand the one put for being a doctor...
Also I don't think if someone changes the field after mbbs to IAS or MBA.. There's Anything like.. waste of seat... Because when u enter mbbs ur are a 18 yr old kid... May be u didn't knew what u wanted to be... slowly u became mature about ur choices...it their choice man...
People only judge doctors... They don't say same thing to engineer aur any other filed that u have wasted a seat...

Imagine people like me cracking mbbs late in life and who graduated late in life have to see this. I am someone who got addmitted late in mbbs despite circumstances against me but sometimes when I look at all this i feel why do we deserve this? Do we deserve being scrutinised like this constantly and being talked over, insulted ,gaslighted, abused ? Obviously no. Don't they realise most of us are more than happy to serve and not everyone is oppurtunistic? That we are humans too who get sad, angry, depressed , demotivated and not just Machine . I am only going forward in life due to passion for medicine nothing else drives me but yes this fear of being defamed for no fault lingers me.

And I literally ran off to AFMC Pune to make my dream come true, as much as I knew, I was medically fit according to the information available online, but nah I was wrong, my eye power was more then the limit and my hemoglobin defecient, you won't believe me how worthless I felt after not making up to AFMC, I got AIIMS nagpur and my 1st year of MBBS is soon coming to an end, but I still feel sad to not make it up to AFMC, also I feel like maybe medical career was never meant for me? bhaiya a big question here how do we know we love treating patients from our heart ,we as class 11 12 student have done nothing more than taking care of parents grandparents and helping a injured person and as a person has humanity any person likes helping people and taking care of them . is this enough reason to become a doctor ? we are not ofc qualified enough to treat patients like doctors so we do not know the "fun" part and the passionate part of treating a patient with our own hands . we do not know whether we like to spend 72 hours continuously in hospital . most people say there is a caliing or whatever but whats ur opinion?
btw i love studying zoology and cant think my life without it and treating a patient with the knowledge of human body seems more exciting but i dont know whether its really that exciting and worth it . but unlike other student who try to crack neet because they hate maths i truly love zoology and even if do not get a chance (which i will ;) i ll pursue zoology no matter what!

I am a NEET UG aspirant and it's my 2nd drop. And, my primary motivation for joining MBBS is that I love medical science and I want to learn about it. I am willing to study. I am willing to put my 12-13 years. I am happy with a decent sustainable salary. The thing I don't like and which is making me doubt my decision is the RESIDENCY LIFE. Literally, they have 36-48hours duty. They don't sleep somedays and live on 3 hr sleep. They, don't have a life other than that. No, work-life balance. They are tortured by their seniors. And it is very TOXIC.
I love medical science but I also love my sleep. I am not a robot who can work that insane amount of time without eating and sleeping.
If the workload of doctors should come down. They should not work more than 10-12 hours max. They are also humans. They also need rest and they also need time to enjoy. I think the government should do something about it and the seniors should be more responsible and ragging should be stopped at all costs.
I wish these things in India gets sorted ASAP.

If u r afraid of residency then it's better to do it abroad like uk
Uk residency I thinks take around 7-10 years but in india if you pursue DM then total years are going to be same .....just don't get demotivate during your drop years......if u truly love profession go for it

Am a doctor currently working as a medical officer at a PHC in a periphery village in Rajasthan, after completing my internship I joined state services and it’s been over a year now , I have completed my probation period and currently preparing for neetpg ( as during probation govt doesn’t give permission for appearing neetpg) , yesterday’s news of dr Archana’s demise and situation that made her to do it , saddened me and I totally connected with the scenario, as working in rural area , many local politicians ( chutabhaiya neta) try to interfere in your hospital matters just for sake of their own benefit, and it really takes a toll on you , my escape mechanism for this was to clear neetpg asap and get to a city asap, other thing I concluded is to not take a life saving branch , wanted earlier but not at cost of my mental peace as violence against doctors is at peak!

I honestly love medicine but devoting my entire youth to books makes me rethink my decision sometimes. I also have a LOT of hobbies and digesting the fact that i won't get time for them once i join med college haunts me. I'm in a dilemma but I'm still preparing, my family has high expectations from me because I've been a "topper" since childhood. And it's not like they're forcing me or smth, i want to do it myself as well but then as i said, the second thoughts.
