Thank you for this! I would love a video talking about relationships with our parents as we grow up when you feel resentful toward them for not being there for you as a child but also feeling guilt for drawing boundaries as an adult!

Don't worry too much about being boring. I love your chats and stories. Remember, you already know what you said in the video and have possibly listened to it many times, so it's not the same for us hearing it for the first time. It is not boring at all ❤
I don't know if you've done an episode about this topic already (if so, I apologize for being too lazy to look 😅) but I have been struggling since becoming an adult with feeling the Christmas/holiday spirit, even though I do all the things like decorating, baking, watching Christmas movies, listening to Christmas music, etc. Have you struggled with this? Is this just what happens when you become an adult? How can I get that feeling back?
Actually, it seems like most things don't feel the same to me anymore. Trips, concerts, holidays...it all feels like nothing. I think that is more of a "me" problem, but I can't figure out why or how to change it.

Living in my truth is writing in my journal. I am the most genuine when I am writing journal entries. In every day life I feel like I have to put myself on a short leash as far as being who I am. My journal doesn't judge.

I relate to you so much and even though you don’t know me I feel like we’re besties 😅🩷 I also have a 1.5 year old son and I’m also still try to operate at the same level I did before having him. It’s such a journey and transition and continually learning. Thank you for creating these talks and reminding me that I’m not the only one feeling that way 🥰🙏🏻

People pleasing is a form of manipulation and that comes from not feeling safe and seeking outside approval for our choices. We need to enter the vagal ventral through practise of regulating our nervous system and feeling grounded from the base chakra. I believe this is ongoing

Loved this chat and this topic 🥰For years I felt like I was living in a constant state of high anxiety, constantly running away or from one thing to another. It was becoming too much and was accelerated by trauma. At the time I was doing a course in kids mental health and really resonated with what they were saying about Autism and ADHD and decided to explore this further. Fast-forward a year, I have my ADHD diagnosis and living my true most authentic life due to finally understanding that I'm not broken, I'm just wired a little differently! Realising that people pleasing and always wanting/needing to be busy is an ADHD trait was super refreshing!
I finally feel I am living my truth and not apologising anymore for being who I am because we are all just trying to do our best 🥰

I think the whole subject of living one's truth really comes down to not fitting anybody else's mold but your own. To me at least. In the last few months I have been discovering myself all over again because I found out I have autism and I started exploring what I wanted and liked in my life if I peeled every layer of social norms and expectations from others off. I have also been so lucky as to having a very supportive boyfriend who never expects or want any kind of false me, so that support has definitely made it easier to explore the core me. The mental image I work a lot with in this moment is if I was born a puzzle piece but people's and society's expectations made me remove corners and edges that made me not fit in into that specific part of the puzzle where people wanted me to fit, but now I am rediscoering my true puzzle piece form again with all the unique edges and curves. It's a lot of work when you have spend so much time filing yourself down but it's 100 % worth it.

What an awesome coffee talk about trust. I really related to the part when you said when we come from a place of worry we undermind our ability to put trust in somebody. As soon as i learnt that by worrying about others it may signal a sense of distrust from myself I nipped that habit in the bud! Okay I just have say it cause I didn’t see it in the comments!! And I hope this isn’t disrespectful or inappropriate coming from a stranger! But I gotta say it cause all I could think was giiiirl THAT DREAMY, SPARKLING SUMMER MORNING KIND OF LIGHT on THAT SPECIFIC DAY, SHINING RIGHT ON YOU!! My theory - It was a big day for him, and a big anniversary, and personally I think heaven gave him a nice, long, generous, hall pass - and he used it to pull up a seat next to you!🩵

I’m trying, I’m so trying to be true to myself - why do I find it so hard? It’s incredibly difficult to shed our “good girl, good daughter” skin, even as old as I am. But it’s never too late to begin. I want to take time to listen to myself, acknowledge the person I truly am - discover her, even! Thanks for this space ❤❤❤

This was a really helpful take on anxiety around others. As someone who was brought up to take responsibility for things that weren't my responsibilities, such as other people's emotions and actions, this advice is going to be so helpful in letting go of that.

I feel trustfull in myself when i seek out content like yours. Because i know it’s good for me, and it makes me feel safe in being stressed, hurt and angsty. It makes me feel normal and makes it easier to accept the Harder emotions we face in life. I also feel trustfull when i do physical things like making a good meal, being outside, working out etc. because it serves me and it shows that i am capable of taking care of myself. Journaling is the same, because i allow myself a safe space to vent and reflect❤️❤️ Thank you Kalyn❤️

    Re: 4:00 mark
You don't need to polish your speech or worry about too much fluff/conversation. You don't have to worry about boring us. If anyone is feeling sleepy, they can 2x the speed. But truly, I would guess 85% of us come here, not for education or polished experiences, but to connect with you, your mind, the way you live, the way you think, and just as a friend of you.
Believe in the power of the parasocial relationship, Kalyn! Remember your meetups. Remember how people feel about you. Work inside that. Assume we are friends-not-audiences for you. That is the sanctity of the brand you built -- is that it isn't a brand at all.

This is amazing, I’ve been journaling about this all week, great timing for me. Relaxing into connection with myself, trust, honesty with myself, using “armour” consciously to self soothe and allowing myself these things with kindness, listening to what I really feel and staying true to that, building self trust over time, a lot of themes of genuine self care, understanding people pleasing and the need to feel safe, the desire to overachieve and over-exert… it’s amazing to feel such a resonance with a video, some of it is word for word to what I’ve written! This isn’t the first time with your talks, we’re kindred spirits! Also gotta mention you look sooo much like your papa 🩷

I would love to hear you talk about actually putting yourself and your content out into the world (I'm requesting this because this is something I'm really struggling with). I remember you telling a story about how you were really horribly bullied when you first started posting to YT, and yet here you are making amazing content as a successful TH-camr. I guess what I'm asking is how do you get over yourself and your critics and just do the damn thing anyways?

I love the new style of video. I think it's interesting to hear the thoughts that don't always make it to the screen from the camera. I'm sure most of us talk to ourselves in some capacity so it's super relatable. As for the anxiety being linked to not trusting ourselves.. I think 100% yes. I've never ever thought about it like that and I think that might help me work through my own anxiousness. Worth a shot, nothing to lose by trying. Thanks for the new perspective!

I never comment on youtube videos but I feel like I just have to let you know Kalyn that this talk about living our truth was exactly what I needed to hear today. I am currently making a huge decision for my future the next year and I have felt so confused and anxious the last couple of days on what to do. This coffee talk made me fully realize that I need to trust my gut and even though I am worried that others will judge my decision or that I will regret it later I have to make the decision that is right for me NOW. I am supposed to follow MY path and MY dreams, not anyone elses. Thank you.
