    R36S with internal wifi and fixed buttons from factory would be an instant win for me. I don’t think I’d be confident enough soldering to the usb c traces

      buttons feel good in my book , because my expectations are set accordingly, i paid 20 bucks for the r36s , if i was paying something like $60 or maybe $100 you bet i will be furious 😡😡😡😡

    You're not worried about a short with those wires? Is that discoloration on the wires from heat buildup?

    • @justinc8157
      @justinc8157  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Those wires are not bare wires. They are enameled. Even if they did touch something, they wouldn't short out. The discoloration is just burnt flux from when I soldered them. I should have cleaned it off, but I was worried about using alcohol to clean it because the adapter is glued down to the PCB and I thought it would come losse. I didn't think cleaning it was worth the risk at the tiime. But yes, the professional thing to do is to remove all flux after the job is done.

    Nice mod, im looking at maybe replacing some of those loud tactile switches with membrane type. Just have to measure the size of switches. Any opinions on that, maybe you could make a vid on that if u wanted

    • @justinc8157
      @justinc8157  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Interesting idea. Those loud buttons for the start, select and shoulder buttons are little tiny micro switches which mount directly to the motherboard as a separate part so I don't think there's anyway to make them membrane like the A, B, X, Y and dpad. But you might be on to something. There might be different micro switches with the same footprint that could substituted which have a more soft feel to them.

    • @raulprado5620
      @raulprado5620 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I think it does that because it doesn't receive enough power to work properly, but if you adjust the voltage enough... It seems to me that that sound stops making it.

    I noticed that the board has VCC, GND, RX and TX soldering points, aren't they the same connections as USB? Wouldn't it be better to solder at these points instead of connecting to USB-C? It would probably be a third USB, thus leaving USB-C free for other features

    How's your battery consumption? and how about the speaker shielding?

    • @justinc8157
      @justinc8157  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It's probably only drawing at most 200mah if you're downloading constantly in the background. I keep it switched off while I play games so it's not drawing anything. What speaker shielding? There was no shielding in the adapter other than the metal USB plug. If you're talking about the sound distortion from the adapter, well actually it's less noticeable now that it's been internally installed than when I used it through the type c port/OTG adapter. Not sure why but maybe it's just the orientation that's changed.

      Yeah I've read some places mentioning the dpads could be fixed. My dpad seems alright for me so I never looked into it. One mod I did do which I forgot to mention in the video is cutting the thin piece of plastic which connects the A and B buttons and the piece which connects X and Y buttons. Before I cut the piece of plastic, the buttons would make squeaky sounds when pressing them. They feel and sound much better now.
