i'm mainly into heli flying anymore but my 2 Wheel Dr. stampede never leaves the back of my truck, stampede is forever I also have a brand new vxl 4 x 4 I'm in no rush to use but will also keep forever
Nice to see the old girl updated! Great platform and the new BL system gives much better performance then the brushed setup AND includes the heavy duty upgrades! 👍 I'd definitely gear it for higher speed but I'd be interested to see if a 3s battery can be plugged in and how the system would hold up to the extra voltage?
3S will plug in because it is the same connector. That being said, however, the ESC will likely flash Red & Green just like the XL5 does when a 3S is plugged in to it.
The Stampede 4x4 VXL was my first car and is still my favorite. I've always liked how I can keep building and building it. I bought a TRX4 and really enjoy that one as well. Of course we all want the latest one, but I find the joy is in what we already have.
finally it came out, well first thought about it,it really looks like a hoss, and nothing looks like the real stampede 4x4 anymore hmm have to think about it,i love my old stampede 4x4
its just a smaller hoss. i think traxxas has made a downpoint here. they just needed too keep the stampede the way it was or completely let go off that model
I’m not gonna hate on the extreme similarities to the Hoss 😂 I do love the stampede. But come on traxxas, let’s have some new ideas already! Give us something completely unique like Arrma did with the Gorgon.
They should have never released the Hoss. This is what they should have done since day one. Now what are they going to do with the Hoss? 🤔. They didn't include a wheelie bar?
@AsurasWrath164 The nitride coated shafts are a waste of time and money. Put some green slime PTFE grease on the silicone O-Rings, shafts, thicker shock oil, and aluminum caps make the ultra shocks work extremely well. As good as the all aluminum big bores.
@all-is-Grass they are not a waste of money, absolutely not. The original shafts are weak as Butter. I can bend them with my Fingers, that's a fact. Not only are tit-niti shafts extremely resistant to wear ,they also do not bend that easily. And as another fun fact: the big bores actually contain less oil than the ultras. Edit: the ultras have a bad reputation but fundamentally they are amazing shocks.
@@AsurasWrath164 Bull. I've bent the titanium nitride shafts just as easily as the steel on an an extremely heavy, upgraded E-Maxx. I have bent both kinds just the same. The ultra shocks take a little less fluid because the shock bodies of them are plastic. They have to be thicker inwardly to compensate for strength. That way, they keep the intended size of the shock. There's no actual disadvantage over the slight fluid capacity difference. Yeah, the shock bodies of the 'big bore' are stronger, but the fancy shmancy gold colored titanium coated steel shafts are NOT stronger. Not at all. It's a gimmick. They're a waste of money. PTFE shock grease coated on the silicone O-Rings (and on the shafts) will make the standard steel shafts just as smooth, too. Same grease is good for servicing the differentials with those moving parts around the O-Rings there, too.
I drove the heck out of these things till I got an xmaxx now it collects dust. might have to updated an turn it into this. Hey Mark what kind of shocks would you upgrade with an do they still use a slipper clutch or did they go w cushdrive like hoss. also what upgrades would ya put on a hoss and Maxx? Thankyou for the Entertainment
I have two of the vintage original Stampedes. The chassis on the new looks like an Arrma outcast. With AM receivers and transmitters! Mark come on man! 😂😅
Absolutely does not! The arrma chassis has nothing, absolutely nothing in common with the 4x4 traxxas platform. The chassis of the new stampede is basically the same like the slash 4x4 that came out 13years ago.
I see it there, still funny it's not where I'd normally look for this product, but I'm sure it will be soon. The entire electric line-up is a bit extensive. Thank you!
You have a nice family and well paying job. Please don't resort to conning the RC community (which is filled with little kids) like that KT guy in the UK. KT is basically a full time casino now where every video is an ad to gamble to win whatever product he is showcasing in his entertaining COMMERCIALS.
I think you need to watch some more of his videos. The last thing Mark does is con people in RC. Every YT review goes over some new content but he's never pushed people to get new cars. He shows the new cars available so people know what to expect when buying. He gives a ton of RC products out to the community and has set up a ton of amazing events to bring people together.
@jrr352 - Yes but reviews are generally done by individuals that purchase the product and can say anything, positive and negative. Channels that get it before they are even available usually are sent it free for advertising and the channels featuring them tend to only highlight the positives to satisfy the company and to continue to get the freebies. Not really a review, more of a promo vid. It’s cool either way, but I usually steer clear of these types of vids when considering a product and wait for the actual “reviews” if you know what I’m saying
He's an influencer. It's obvious that he's not the average, struggling Joe running a few RC cars. He has a nice house, car, and family... and always has the next new TRAXXAS, usually. No normal Joe Shmo could afford the new flavor of the month RC toy all the time. The influencers may as well be truly honest and admit that they either pursued being an influencer or fell into it. But, either way....influencer. I don't dislike this guy at all. Am subscribed. But it's time for everyone to fully see these TH-camrs for what they are.
The HD kit is definitely something that Traxxas should integrate into all of there vehicles! Because let’s be honest, there’s nothing better than a durable basher….
They like to charge a premium for parts that should be on every model if they wanna call their stuff hobby grade in my opinion. They have better parts and purposely leave them off so they can upsell a better model or sell you the parts later when stuff starts breaking which is usually the first time out. Lol.
I don’t think he bought it, likely given to him for promo and advertising. Tough to trust these type of reviews as they tend to only point out positives and won’t say anything negative to continue the freebie gravy train

I love my bl-2s slash , I love the clip less body system , it’s got plenty of trq, and top speed , with it being 4wd and the heavy duty kit already on it and a brushless motor you can’t beat the price .
Just my opinion after having many crazy-fast machines: excess speed leads to more broken parts, more down time, more cost, and more disappointment. When a truck this size goes to 3S or 4S then the likelihood of more broken parts and more down time increases exponentially (and I have a comprehensive diagnostic evaluation to prove that - ha, j/k). As usual, very nice review and your final summary is excellent. I wonder if instead of replacing the shocks if you could obtain the improved performance with different shock oil? (would be nice to see a link to the shocks you'd recommend - hope I didn't overlook that if you already included that) Regardless of all the marketing and hype, in the world that claims "more is always better," I really like seeing the 2S brushless 1/10th platform for bashing which, in my opinion, simply provides more bang for the buck than anything else out there in that category. Let me know if you want me to send you an ID tag w/MSM logo - could be attached to Tx or whatever (I ONLY make these for family, friends, people who make useful videos & so forth - never commercial and STL's are published free) 👍
