I realized a new thing concerning software, regarding battery change in a MINI/BMW. # If we change the specs of the battery during replace, we need to use BimmerCode app to let the car software know regarding the new amps & type of battery we r installing. #2 After the first step it is essential to additionally also register the new battery by using the BimmerLink app. Both steps need to be done, when changing the battery.
Hi mate, thanks for the video. I'm about to change my battery and have been reading through variance post online, so apparently registering your battery is different to coding your battery type. so you will still need to get your battery registered or the system won't charge your battery correctly. I have a mate who has a scan tool, which i will asked him to help. others mentioned the used of ISTA software (on laptop) connected using ENET cable. Cheers.
Ok. I have changed my battery to a third party battery with higher specs/amps, and used the BimmerCode app to register the change whilst also chosing the relevant options at the time of register, to indicate the type & specs of the new battery to my car ECU. I now have the new battery for around 1 year and all is well.🙂
@@varmaTrini cool, what option did you choose to register the battery? My mate's scan tool software needed an update in order to register my battery today lol. So now I have a new battery but not registered lol
@@thecarguy888 When U register your battery, it/the app will ask you to choose the specs of your battery from its "built in drop down menu".My new battery was 850 cranking amps and i chose "800amps + AGM/Start Stop" option. The more gadgets you have, the higher the amps your would need your battery to have for long life. I believe i saw that you could go all the way up to 1200amps of battery, but the problem would be to find the suitable size to fit in the bay that MINI has designed for the need. The battery registration can also be done via the BimmerLink app.

The mileage of a MINI is part of its engine data. It cannot be manipulated. Even if Car radio head unit is swapped, the radio will continue to show the real mileage. There is no fake mileage with MINI.
Where did you get that multi color trim in the center instrument panel?
AliExpress.
Any way you can send me the link?

hi, can you please tell me how to check the real km of a Mini using bimmercode or bimmerlink?
