0:09 - OG Cuicide gets a shoutout on the No Jumper Show every week
0:39 - Being from the west side of Compton. There’s only one Compton. Born in ‘69
1:16 - Being found abandoned in an apartment as a kid with his brother
1:53 - Meeting his real mother for the first time at 13 yrs old.
2:56 - Didn’t know his foster mom wasn’t his real mom. Meeting his biological family he had never known about.
3:51 - Biological mom blamed her actions on dr*gs. Took his brother out of foster care but never came for him.
4:50 - Going back to see his biological family when he was older. Trying to connect with his younger siblings.
5:30 - Speaking about his real life in his music: being abandoned, born a crack baby, having a learning disorder, attempting su*cide
6:08 - Seeing his biological mom later in life. Not getting along with his biological brothers because of his music.
7:17 - Meeting his biological father for the first time at 22 yrs old. First thing he said was “pull your pants up”. Knocking on his aunt’s door for 3 weeks to find his father.
8:42 - Never seeing eye to eye with biological parents. Both deceased. Not feeling remorse at his father’s funeral.
9:33 - Never getting the answer as to why his mom got his brother out of foster care and not him
10:26 - Feeling like a different person after he learned about his biological family.
10:39 - Growing up going to school with a learning disability. Turning F’s into A’s
11:17 - Being involved in the streets since 8 yrs old. Peeping game from the older guys.
12:10 - Fascinated with hustling from the age of 13 yrs old. Selling homegrown weed at school. Graduating to white girl and sherm.
13:00 - Watching crack hit Compton in ‘83-’84. Before that people did PCP
13:21 - Never been a person to sell his gun.
13:34 - Growing up in a gang. Protecting the neighborhood. Graduating from fights to knives to guns
14:20 - Starting to get in trouble in elementary school. Stealing cars. Breaking into school. Smoking weed. Not sampling other dr*gs
15:03 - Getting locked up. Being in and out of juvie.
15:22 - Being a su*cide survivor at 22 yrs old. Being asked to leave Ms. Price’s house at 16 yrs old after the house got shot up. Couch surfing with friends.
17:12 - Explaining how he felt on the day he tried to k*ll himself. Not understanding the idea of being depressed. Friends tried to stop him. Being ungrounded after Ms. Price got sick and passed away
19:27 - Showing Adam the scar where he shot himself in the head. Not knowing if there is still a bullet in his brain. Being in a coma for days.
20:30 - Explaining exactly what he experienced and what he saw after he pulled the trigger, and when he woke up in the hospital. Feeling bad he was still alive.
22:00 - Recovered in 2 months. Back to living on the streets. Seeing therapy as a waste of time.
23:22 - Deciding to get his life together. Stopped taking heavy medication that would make him sleep for days.
24:06 - People in the hood making fun of him for attempting su*cide made him want to start making music. Try to help other people feeling the same way
25:10 - Making music was his therapy to overcome the incident. Music resonates with people all over the world
25:27 - Being more influenced by the streets than music. OGs were on a different level of gangster back in the day.
26:44 - Learning more from life than from school. Sharing the lessons he learned through music.
27:44 - AD was one of the kids Cuicide helped steer in a more positive direction. Known AD his whole life, certifies his background. Watching him get into music.
28:56 - Started going by “OG Cuicide” in ‘93, right after he recovered. Made his first album comparing his street life to having a terminal illness and getting a big response.
30:28 - Signing a deal with Leon Haywood and being shown the ropes of the music industry
31:56 - How he met Eazy E and almost signed to him. Being invited to his radio show and studio sessions. Writing raps for Eazy E.
34:05 - Eazy E put Compton on the map. Also shoutout to Mix Master Spade and Tiny T. Being around Eazy before the Dre beef.
34:43 - Being in the process of signing to Ruthless Records when Eazy passed away. Seeing the decline of Eazy.
35:42 - Eazy’s passing didn’t deter his music ambitions. Touring Japan after ‘Wonder Why’ album in 2000. Getting used to the food
37:05 - Striving to empower and inspire people instead of glorifying gang v*olence. Talking people out of committing su*cide, talking a 14 yr old kid out of it over text
40:32 - Being an OG for people struggling with su*cidal thoughts from all over the world, even 3rd world countries
41:47 - Fans wanting to see him on No Jumper. People crying after his powerful conversation with Housephone.
42:45 - Seeing that Housephone was battling demons and didn’t have a big brother structure. Reminding him how smart and intelligent he is
43:40 - Adam wants to see Housephone take his health more seriously
45:00 - “You can’t make no one do nothin”. Including Housephone. Something has to happen to force a decision. Not everyone will grow up
46:20 - There’s still time for Housephone to grow up. Cuicide believes in him
46:51 - Feeling nothing but positive energy and good vibes at No Jumper
47:30 - Not renouncing ties but not being an active g*ng member. Feeling obligated to help “family”
48:55 - Gang life filled the void of family
49:48 - Still dealing with the fact that he was abandoned as a kid. Seeing other examples of abandoned kids all over the world.
50:55 - The only way to overcome huge obstacles is to want it. Doing something every day to make something better. Building a record label.
52:20 - Getting shot in the neighborhood while his son was in the house. Still having the bullet in his back. Adam wants to know more about the shooter but it’s classified
54:48 - Coming home from the hospital one week after getting shot with a California Zipper scar.
55:19 - Son being in the house when it got shot up. Helping the homie before he helped himself. Comforting his son but not telling him he was shot.
58:13 - Adam tries to understand how people can be so violent. Cuicide explains that all bets are off when a loved one is k*lled. Have to grow up in it to understand.
1:00:25 - Steering young people away from the cycle of v*olence. Looking at your future in 5 year increments. 4 kids and 5 grandkids.
1:01:50 - Putting the streets ahead of his kids earlier in life. Being a great grandfather to his grandkids to make up for it.
1:03:34 - Found his purpose, his real calling is speaking/connecting with people
1:04:19 - Speaking at an event and being recognized by the paramedic that took him to the hospital after he tried to k*ll himself
1:05:27 - Not having any regrets in life, including trying to k*ll himself
1:06:07 - Urging anyone considering su*cide to not. Reviewing the story of a 7 yr old who k*lled themselves after being bullied. Su*cide doesn’t discriminate
1:07:17 - Living in an emotional time where people don't know how to cope. Can’t solve your problems with dr*gs. Only you can stop you.
1:10:13 - You shouldn’t stop loving a kid just because you find out it's not yours.
1:11:36 - Life is about being successful. Helping other people. Keeping your word.
1:12:43 - Speaking your mind and speaking from your nuts. Not going to start trouble, but will end it
1:14:05 - Being proud of AD for maturing but never switching up. Not letting your ego be the thing that destroys you
1:15:43 - “Don’t call yourself a boss if you’re the only one eating.” Help people wherever you can.
1:17:26 - Being tired of making music. Trying to retire but there was an uproar from overseas fans. New album coming out.
1:18:27 - “Phone Call to Heaven” is a song about Ms. Price. Taught him how to love. Seeing her live through him. Becoming his legal guardian.
1:22:06 - When he was first rescued after he was abandoned as a kid, his body was covered in eczema.
1:22:51 - Not letting drugs be an excuse for not taking care of your kids.
1:24:20 - Dealing with friends who may be neglecting their kids. Says Adam is doing a good job with Parker.
1:27:16 - Plans for the future. Making On Track Records a household name. Continuing to answer every message he gets and be someone that people can talk to.
1:29:39 - Potentially saving a guy’s life by saying hello to him at a 7Eleven
1:31:07 - Living life to be the face of “Never Give Up”, raise awareness of su*cide, and be a resource for people in trouble
1:32:15 - Getting shot in the leg during a drive-by, one year after the first time he got shot.
1:33:09 - Looking at the times he got shot as payback for the bad things he’s done.
1:34:25 - Not looking for trouble anymore because he blacks out when he gets out of character
1:35:08 - Wanting to see everybody win. Showing people how to get out of dark places. Giving out his phone number for the past 17 yrs.
1:36:39 - Giving out his social media and personal phone number to invite anyone anywhere considering suicide to call him

Idk if Adam ever went through any mental health issues in his life, but the most important thing to have towards someone who is going through it, is empathy. You could really change the direction of a lost soul by just being supportive.

Man, bro, I lived ur exact life. My mom was a prostitute who literally threw me in a trash can when I was kid. I grew up angry at the world in a gang and with no feeling for anyone but my close friends. This story hit me hard. My adoptive mom is black, and I'm Hispanic. The woman I call mom had her issues as well (bipolar), but she is who I called Mom. Now, as an adult, I've had my biological brothers and sisters contact, but they mean nothing to me, and it's impossible to believe that they love me.

Great interview. Hearing OG talk about what he went through as a homeless teen takes me back. It was like he was telling my story. On the streets hustling to survive. Sleeping at your peoples parents house. Riding the bus back and forth the city to stay dry. Tough times only make you a stronger and more grateful person. Much respect the the OG. 💯

Facts.. all the people who I kno that went through homelessness at a young age. Grew up to be very independent and strong, they all got good jobs now and their own spot. They had no choice but to grow up fast, I look up to them coming from a house where I was spoiled and it staggered my growth. I always knew I had someone to rely on if I messed up so I never cared about saving money and getting a good job. Now that I’m hitting 35 I realize how spoiling a kid can cause them to mature really slow. I still wouldn’t change the way I grew up though, I had a blast up until I was like 25 and stopped asking for the things I needed. I got it on my own and life became more serious lol.

Thank you for sharing your story and your words OG Cuicide. I’ve had friends commit suicide over and over since I was a teenager, I watched my brother try to commit suicide when I was a kid, my grandpa shot himself, I pulled my twin sister out of a 3rd story window real shit, I could go on but I ended up trying to do it myself a few years ago and made it out. I usually only hear people like you talk like this in therapy groups and private rooms, but it’s always been very impactful to me. This podcast/interview is so important, it’s unbelievable. It’s so important to have ogs like yourself alongside people your age to reflect with and gain perspective from. I’m grateful as hell.
