It sorta is. Some times I'd make a class that buffs all learning speed in replace of General magic just so they have better chances at good jobs after they leave. How ever you simply don't care about them other then fodder. You can't really turn down teaching any child but if they are trash, they are trash.
The hardest thing about watching your videos is that half the time I either don't like the game and get bored, or I like the game enough that I want to avoid spoilers and play it myself ASAP!
If you click on the classes you've leveled up you can apply some extra bonuses depending on the type of class it is. The elementalist dojo is a good one to upgrade cause it lets you earn a lot of money early game with student fights betting
Really enjoyable and chill game, also satisfies the giant void when it comes to magic/Harry Potter games. Good tip for below average students that would otherwise clutter your houses, customize the general house (or normal house where you got not so good perks) in such a way that only teaches one or max two magics that don't interfere with your main magic focus (so these sillies don't fill up classes meant for your top students). This way even the bottom of the barrel has a chance to come out with a decent job because they have a focus instead of trying to learn everything, which even the top students struggle with.
If you get lucky and get a house with Jack of All Trades (+100% learning speed up to level 1) can also be quite good for at least avoiding your students ending up as peasants you can even get decent futures even with just level 1-2 if they learn enough different kinds of magic In the most extreme case there is Thaumaturg which requires level 1 in all kinds of magic and it has pretty nice bonus of making your students start off with some magic skill (though obviously it is rather difficult to actually accomplish.... It isn't that difficult because going from 0 ---> 1 is rather quick it is just usually not worth the effort to micromanage your students to make sure they are rotating their classrooms so that they actually get around to learning all the magic at level 1+)
I really like this game and thanks for showing it again. One suggestion I have with the lake is to keep any dragons you get as you need that for the quest for the spirit of the lake. :) Also, Chatty students reduce everyones ability to learn so it's a good idea not to have them in your school anywhere.
we play this game completely different. I go for as many magic types as possible, because I wanna get me some Archmages. Usually by the last few rounds I get so many of them, it's incredible for prestige.
While an audience who appreciates the term might be relatively rare, you could have used 'Glamour' rather than Wizardry - 'glamour' being a term used for illusory magic.
I like to go wide in this game, just build a giant school with 200+ graduations per run, i only get 1 archimage per run maybe, but i get like 20% in permanent stats.
Started the video with the intent of having it in the background while I finished painting some miniatures for a D&D session, then I realized I got this game for free through Twitch's Prime loot. Miniatures didn't get done and I sunk almost 13 hours into it in one sitting, the miniatures forgotten. Apparently when you progress far enough you can start sending 4 students to a dungeon for loot (and to die) so making sure your houses have a good combo of magical skills and that you use artifacts to boost them up upon reaching certain levels in their studies lets you build up a balanced team.
This game reminds me of a wizardry type of kingdoms reborn. Especially with the card building system it has. Looks pretty awesome though and I will be buying today. Thanks for the play through you’ve presented us with today. Love all the content and just a great channel through and through. GG Splatter Gaming
Nice review: very informative, without belaboring things overmuch. Incidentally, as I learned from my own university, usually the books in a realistic library are stored as low to the ground as possible, because they're heavy, and they get heavier as the collection expands (and it always does).
Your videos are great. I have a suggestion: for games like this that offer end game specialness and repalayabilty, you should show that end game and replayable stuff at the end
I think the game strikes a great balance between enjoying the spectacle of watching students and teachers go about their days and planning for the long term objective and reacting to outside events.
I really enjoyed this game and 100% it on Steam. I’ve been waiting for the DLC ever since the initial announcement and it will be a joy to finally get back into it.
Love this game! Was already planning another playthrough. What was the update though? I didn't notice anything new from what I've played already. Just wondering if I should update or not 🤔
Imagine this exact same game, but on a larger scale. The same mechanics, but with a whole town. Taverns, blacksmiths, farms, ministries, militia, companions, crime, knights, different guilds ect.. and the better you manage all of these, the better your town does, the more wealth you gain, the bigger you can expand. Eventually becoming a big town, kingdom, empire ect.. and you play against cpu doing the same thing for prestige
Your description of your "Leave Most of the Children Behind" policy had me rolling with laughter. Ditto! I've gotten to the point where if a student is particularly bad (bully, chatty, or just plain Dumb [the Intelligence rating definitely matters!]) I bin them no matter what other traits they have. Waste of beds and classroom space otherwise, and that could affect the students who actually have potential!
I really enjoyed the gameplay during the stream and picked this gem up yesterday. I paid full price and have no regrets. Great Game can't wait for the content drop in a few weeks.
i played this years ago! i got really far into it but the game bugged out and the teachers kept rotating between two rooms, or a door, back and forth, something like that. made me highly disappointed in it. but now that it's further in development, it should be ok and fixed already. hopefully
Splatty doesn't know but that's basically how the English educational system works. Although it attempts to alleviate the impact of having worse grades/results at the end of compulsory education, it very much piles its resources on the most gifted students because, like your jails, schools are managed like for profit companies.
A fun little title. Beat it a while back, and I really wish there was more to it later in, but it still sucked me in anyway. Worth the low price I got it for on steam though.
Its been a long time since i last played this. I dont think the ability to upgrade rooms existed yet, so thats a cool new feature to see for doubles of cards. Maybe I'll brush the dust off and give it another spin. :)
If only the player for my public school would have thought like you do in this game. Not good for the rest of the students, but I would have had more education.
bothered me a lot that splat never used that refectory card to upgrade it. i stared at thatcard for so long waiting. still, cool game and great video as always
Lol 2 blessed by light at the start of the game!! You would have been better off telling the village you're with the church if light! It sounds like your selection basically chooses what school of magic youd like to focus on.
> Splatty, "Burning children seems like one of those things that later on down the line I'm going to earn a hashtag for." It's good to have life goals.
1:47 You could've used glamour however there is no word that is know of that defines a place of residence that starts with "G" So I guess you can have this one.
Just Splatty being clueless as usual. Intelligence absolutely DOES matter and brilliant gives almost as good a bonus as the school specialization traits he was looking for and way better than worker trait.

I like how Splat makes general magic studies sound like the Spec-Ed magic class.

I love this game, but I feel like it hasn’t had much support since it’s full release. Really happy to see the content patch coming soon.
This game is an amazing indirect strategy sim. Love it.

"Isolate them from all the idiots!"
😂🤣😂
Splats isolation explanation sounds all too much like real life college and public Ed.....
If only real schools did that. Too many smart kids sit around getting bored while the idiots are taught.

Gaspode, Detritus. Love seeing the T. Pratchett references.
Just make the director of the school be named Mustrum Ridcully and all will be good.
