Dude you are extremely thorough !!! You do that when the camera isnt on?....... Come on tell the truth mr!! 😆 well i have a good feeling you do so thats awesome bro!! That being said how can afford to spend so much time on one job like that when you are slammed and have calls coming in left and right? We do transport refridgeration (thermokings) and we are all flat rate techs so moving quick and getting it dones is the name of the game for us ya know what i mean so we cant afford to take our time or we wont make good money but regardless of that i refuse to cut corners all the time screw that.
I was wondering if you can put 2 different coils on a single compressor? And at work are make line keeps freezing, what could be the cause of it freezing

I do residential and have about 2 years experinced. I know how to test TXV ny warming or cooling the bulb, but using SH and SC while charging to notice a bad TXV has always elduded me a little. What does "stacking in the condensor" mean? Also, any tips on recognizing a bad TXV while charging? Love you chanel!
High head pressure low suction pressure. You’ll notice while charging that the refrigerant sticks to the high side but won’t affect the low side at all.

Do you have to be a hvac journey man license to do this on your own? Or can you file this under appliance repair like a regular fridge? I want to add commercial ice makers to my business and possibly walk ins
Have you ever consider using leak stop for a temporary fix? Sometimes due to season or other factors either the owner or the hvac company cant change the unit at the moment and what I do if they cant replace the unit right away i add leak stop and come back a month later as a follow up to make sure leak stop worked properly and add the few ounces I lost until leak stop cover those leaks or slow it down at least and that gives the costumer enough time to make a decision or time (as I said it's just a temporary fix maybe just to go through the season only and then change the unit and only works with micro leaks but it helps when you have several of them at the same coil of course if you have bigger leaks and can be braze then that would be the solution but sometimes that is not the case)
Chris...is that measure quick app part of Fieldpeice Job link? I just bought the job link set, and don’t see any option for that analog display. Love your videos. A reply would be much appreciated.

Not as dangerous as it seems... think about the “orifices” the liquid has to go through. First, the valve on the tank he’s opening by hand and the schrader valve on the access port (at a minimum). If he’s also using a manifold and low-loss fittings there may be even more. Combine that with adding just a little at a time as he’s doing and it’s very unlikely to get liquid in the compressor.

We are allowed to top off the charge in the united states, we can leave a system leaking for as long as the customers likes if the total system charge is under 50 pounds... I’m going to discuss live on TH-cam this evening 6/29/20 @ 5:PM (pacific time) come over and check it out th-cam.com/video/qAVMB2gj6Kc/w-d-xo.html
So it is entirely plausible that this repair bill was due to saving money on a cheap coil cleaning service. If they were too rushed or just didn't care they wouldn't do a good job of cleaning the coils. If the cleaning solution, even highly diluted, can corrode the coils at weak points like solder joints then not thoroughly rinsing the coils while cleaning them could have caused the coil solder leaks. It looks like an opening in the market to hire, maybe senior citizens(?), to come by in the wee hours of morning and clean the coils and take their time to do a good job. Clearly you get what you pay for. I also think any service that can offer a video record of them doing the work is invaluable. Keep up the great work.

Just a question. Why not use something like Dawn Dish Detergent instead of that nasty coil cleaner? It'd be cheaper and safer, because it's shouldn't attack the coils, just the dirt. Also a pretty good degreaser. A ton better for the environment as well, compared to coil cleaner, and safer for yourself incase you were to accidentally spill it all over yourself. You just get a good bath/shower instead of a trip to the hospital for chemical burns.
think about the sudsing power of dawn (yes it's great on oils but...). Now consider just how much bullshit it would be to remove that from the fins. That's why you don't want to use dawn unless you have to.

i have alerton/compass controls on Lennox equipment. one company does the controls only and one does the repair. end up paying two companies and waste time getting it running.
Big blue is better than dish soap! One reason is big blue doesnt sud up and foam up, our areas we work in see alot of moisture and water so if you leave soap in a unit the customer is goimg to keep seeing soap bubbles and suds coming out of the drain etc.... Some units are used with food or around food so soap would be the proper thing to use. Big blue is biodegradable as well
If you like your refrigeration tech heavy duty coil cleaner try some special HD calclean by nu calgon. Just as good if not better and will destroy any kind of grease and get greasy nasty plugged coils squeaky clean. Stuff is feckin wicked and can do better than nu brite in some situations.

Micro channels? Most manufacturers say water only on micros but I do use ph neutral cleaner with them. You are just asking for a leak using the "foam bright" cleaners on an aluminum coil.

I hope I'm not bugging you with comments. I'm betting that people dont take the covers off because they lazy. I have been working with all types of contractors and see it all to often. I know people have bad days but when u are tearing up equipment because of it you need to step back and reevaluate your life. Just saying. Thx for the video.
@@HVACRVIDEOS I would recommend it. It's biodegradable and not etching. They also have products a little stronger as well. I will try the one-shot condensate drain cleaner when i am back from holiday.

I found that kids bubble liquids works good on finding leaks in tires. You know the stuff that comes with the wand for kids to blow bubbles. Walmart usually has big bottles of the stuff for cheap. I wonder if that's what big blue is?😁

At 0:48 to 0:50 Did anyone else notice that exactly one half of that outside condenser was cleaner than the other? (Right half appears cleaner) maybe a weak fan?
Oh lol he mentioned it 4 minutes later haha
Love these package units, so easy to work on, had to replace 2 compressors and a condenser fan motor last week on these units

How do you like those particular Lennox RTUs? I work at a movie theater, we've got 11 of those in various sizes
I love them, they are super easy to diagnose and troubleshoot
You are humbly incredible!
Is that a Simpson260 on the top right shelf? My first meter 43 years ago. I still have it and it still works lol.
Yes it is, it was my dads
Very cool
I was wondering if you can put 2 different coils on a single compressor? And at work are make line keeps freezing, what could be the cause of it freezing
Those filters were so clean OMG!

Measure quick is a separate app that works with the field fieldpiece products.

I would say no longer than a minute or two

Refrigeration technology send Chris a pallet !
He's sold more of your coil cleaner that all the advertising you paid for this year!
Hi, do you just provide repairs for this client as if you service and maintain these units how are they so dirty and in such a mess?
Where I live its illegal to charge a system with refrigerant if there is evidence of or you know that there is a leak.
Yeah here in the UK it's like that too.
Also strength and tightness tests are mandatory.
not only that over here r22 has been banned for years ,can't get the gas nor is it allowed to refill.
you were liquid charging through low side is liquid charging a compressor can actually damage the compressor??
Aslong as you flash it, it’s ok
Not as dangerous as it seems... think about the “orifices” the liquid has to go through. First, the valve on the tank he’s opening by hand and the schrader valve on the access port (at a minimum). If he’s also using a manifold and low-loss fittings there may be even more.
Combine that with adding just a little at a time as he’s doing and it’s very unlikely to get liquid in the compressor.
Only when you dont know what your doing.

Nice sir
Your video inspired me
quesiton - ODP requires no topup until the leak is fixed. how this is justified in this trouble suppoting?
We are allowed to top off the charge in the united states, we can leave a system leaking for as long as the customers likes if the total system charge is under 50 pounds... I’m going to discuss live on TH-cam this evening 6/29/20 @ 5:PM (pacific time) come over and check it out th-cam.com/video/qAVMB2gj6Kc/w-d-xo.html
What will happen to your readings if the condenser is wet?
Ralph Castro high head pressure

It doesn’t work good on what we find in the systems. We do use dawn soap when units are too close to exhausts
think about the sudsing power of dawn (yes it's great on oils but...). Now consider just how much bullshit it would be to remove that from the fins. That's why you don't want to use dawn unless you have to.
Hmm is this near a desert we’re desert sand comes from?
Good vid.

i have alerton/compass controls on Lennox equipment. one company does the controls only and one does the repair. end up paying two companies and waste time getting it running.
On this leak check, did you need to pressurize? Or just you dectctor and bubbles? Thanks Also link on that leak dector
why not use dish washing detergent instead of Big Blue?
Im serious! Is Big Blue worth the additional expense vs detergent? Love your videos and respect your professionalism in all you do. Thanks!
Big blue is biodegradable as well
@@carlgill5946 OK, thanks for your reply...

Listen to those compressors at work. So cool.
I've seen some Lenox units say to only use water for coil cleaning should i go by what the manufacture says?
Purple Giraffe I’ve been asking myself the same question. We mainly install Lenox and all are new machines ask for water only.
Micro channels? Most manufacturers say water only on micros but I do use ph neutral cleaner with them. You are just asking for a leak using the "foam bright" cleaners on an aluminum coil.
