Im from Finland and I'm 183 cm, pretty much a flat 6 ft The driving test on ice is not nessecarily done on actual ice, it can be but we also have some special facilities where they recreate the condityions of driving on slipery surfaces, it's mostly about learning what to do when andif your car loses its grip, how to reverse a skid and regain control etc
As someone living in Finland, I'm 5'9" (~175 cm), which would be the average in the US, but is slightly below average in the Nordic countries (for men). 180 is more like 5'11". My experience has been that most guys seem to be taller than me, but I do see guys who are shorter than me very regularly, despite being pretty much a homebody. I don't consider myself "short". Although obviously I'm not a "tall guy" either.
181cm I think that in Finland you learn to handle the car, but in France or Poland you learn to drive in traffic. At past "ice driving test" aka slippery driving education was done in course where there were oil on steel plate. so it was possible to do in summer time.
That ice test is that you learn how the brakes work on ice, a bit steering and acceleration too but mostly brakes. Like you can spin the car if you press the gas a bit too much on ice but usually not braking in time leads to the more serious accidents or just driving at too high speeds on slippery roads.
Its really more important for city people because they lack the common sense part of the brain. Most accidents I have seen in rural areas are city people or then locals that have played around. Accidents in city areas are people not understanding that black roads can have ice on them or that you can drive in the ass of others when its winter.
If Finns would truly be considered good in bed, I think few possible reasons for such a statement could be a) Finnish mentality of not being selfish b***ks and consider all members of partnerships equal so we give as much as we take b) we speak our minds more easily and honestly, open and honest communication is very important for these things c) and of course the fact that we are extremely comfortable with our bodies/nudity due to sauna culture and almost total lack of religious puritanism that can hinder these things in many other countries d) we are always open for constructive feedback, especially if it is given with good intentions and makes things work better What do you think? Swedes might make more grammar mistakes than Finns when using English, but in pronunciation Swedes are far far superior to Finns. Swedes are one of the best non-native speakers of English (Dutch are even better, but they seem to be able to learn any language incredibly well), which isn't all that surprising, since English and the Swedish languages are so closely related
Swedish and English are so similar langauges and Finnish totally different so of course it's easier to learn for them. And they don't study Finnish as their second language like we do Swedish... Sweden has been best English speaking country many times but Finland is still in top 10 too.
In sweden everybody sounds native english speaker pretty much because of the germanic background and us finns have this thing called rallyenglish with really flippin strong accent, but grammarly etc we are really good usually.
my ice course was super smooth concrete and water. one driving straight and drying to stop and correct the car kinda stay on the road aka between and behind traffic cones placed on the track and other was on a curve to figure out how fast you can go without drifting and spinning. some hated it but i would so do it again, it was fun! :D
Don't worry about not being able to drive. I can't either, lived my whole life in Helsinki and you really don't need a car here with all the public transports and in summer you can use bicycle too. I do miss the opportunity to not have driver license as there are some situations where your own car would make life easier, but I have literally saved thousands of € for not wasting money on car expenses.
Oh, one thing that would be interesting, is to compare the shoesizes of nordic people. My son is 12 yrs, he has 44 size shoes. When we (finns) had an aciment in tunnels, they had to order workboots for me and my work partner specially 🙄 There were 220cm, 130kg guys with 42 size feet! 😳 I asked for 46, my work partner asked for 48 🙈 They did not believe it at first 😆
OMG i'm Finnish and 163cm and feet is size 40 and my ex was almost 2m high and shoe size was 48 i think so he had to order from specific factory lol, it's so weird how some ppl are small but huge feet like you said your son! that's insane my friends daughter is 12 yrs and she uses my 39 size shoes so weird to always read how some has small feet and some huge ones! My sis is almost same hight as me but her feet size is 37
There is a saying here in Sweden about finnish women... "Making love to a finnish lady isn´t love - It´s self defence!" And my personal experience is that it´s not so far from the truth... 😛😂
Getting taller with speed generation by generation.. my father is 175cm, I am 185cm and my first born is 194cm, but youngest (14) is already as tall as I so he'll be near 200cm when done. My two other (living) sons are 180cm and 188cm. Wife is 165cm.
I am swedish. My sons are 185, 186, 187 and 188 and my daughters are 175 both of them. They are in age between 24 and 39 years old. I am 172 and my husband 180.
About 17:35 and the ice driving test. It used to be awesome, used to have 2 hours of track driving mandatory. Now, technically, even the ice track driving isn't mandatory as you can do it with a "simulator" that graphically resembles a 1990's era driving game and is really low quality in every meaningful way. It's complete crap. Same with dark time driving training, most do it with a simulator now. Some people still choose to do the slippery conditions training on an actual track, if a track is available as those are starting to close down too due to low usage. Quite shame. During summers, the tracks have this special surface that is often kept wet, it's as slippery as ice if not more. The test vary between collision avoidance at different speeds to driving into a long curve and then having to avoid a collision (or the teach pulling the handbrake and you have to recover), this also is done at different speeds, often increasing the pseed for so long that you fail to recover (unless you manage to handle the car at the tracks maximum allowed speed, often between 60-80km/h). Some of these tracks are used to train first responders too, technically anyone can rent the track and go train there (with some terms and conditions of course).
I know plenty Finns that don't have driving licence. It's really okay if you don't need it and use public transportation instead. Also, I think Finns get into rally especially in the countryside where cars etc. is actual hobbies for many. I mean, I have driven a car first time as 14 yo on a rally ring made on a lake ice :D At driving school the "ice driving" is made with oiled boards, I think. We also practice dark time driving and avoiding mooses :D I'm 182cm woman, so I am taller than average men in Finland. To be fair, I have very tall family and close relatives, around 170-205 cm...
I'm a Finnish woman and I'm 162cm so nor that tall, I would be if my spine wasn't a bit bended, then I would be 170-173cm, I think common here is guy's hight is like 175-180-cm-> Like most said, it's also about genes, for example my mom's family has been very short, my grandma was 150cm but my brother is 190cm--> so I guess the average with women is 160cm----> and men 170cm---> but genes is all what's it's about :)
Yeah, so in the 2nd part of getting your driver's lincense you need to go drive a ice course. So if you do it in winter its already frozen and slippery and if you do it when its not frozen then few turns of the course are made slippery by other means.
All the finns are commenting their heights, so, since you asked, I'll just add to the pile that I'm 193cm, 6'4 :D Also, on another topic mentioned, I'll add that difficult driving conditions cannot in reality be really related to the amount of professional drivers, since if you are to drive in f1, you probably started karting at like 6 years-old at which point you're obviously not driving on public roads yet lol
We have had enormous immigrant groups from Finland since the 1950s. Mostly poor working class that did not speak English nore Swedish. Now however Finland is a much richer country and their school is one of the best in the world. Young Fins are probably as good or better as young Swedes.
If you get in a car on a regular northern finnish 20 yearold and go for a drive on an icetrack on a lake, I bet you will need to use that bumbblower (I can't remember what you used for it 😆) We have a word for it too, it is the pu%%ytelephone 😂 Why are finns so good in bed. 🙄 I'm 6"9, my shoesize is 46 EU. 😉
Yes, Finland (and also Sweden) is sparsely populated, if you think about the average: about 17 people per square kilometer. But Finns have not spread evenly throughout the country. For example, almost 20% of the entire population lives in the Helsinki area. In addition to the countryside and forests, Finns have always also lived in towns, close to other people. Still, we value personal space.
in sweden when I was supposed to do my national service I was a little above the averige but now in old age I shrunk an inch. then I sneaked away to australia
Im from Finland and I'm 183 cm, pretty much a flat 6 ft

I learned to drive on the sea ice in the winter, there was a track where you went, you pressed the gas to the bottom.
Im a 183cm guy, so pretty much bang on 6ft. The average height for men in Finland is 180cm, like they said, which is 5'11

I'm so disappointed that Nackagubben quit youtubing. His channel was so amusing!
Oh no! I didn't know he quit, that's a shame. I love his videos.
@@dwaynesview yeah he hasn't published anything since 2019.

Siri is so wrong - 180 cm is 5' 11''. My height is 179 cm, and earlier I was exactly of average height. It may have gone up a cm after that...
