If you observe there is a gap between screen and body so what happened is every week dust accumulated in that gap i used to clean with my finger rubbing it hard but over the time it got loosen and suddenly when i was in my class it popped out i terrified screen went black but i can still listen audio so i sent it to service centre first they said its a display problem and after 25 days i.e today now they are saying there is some problem in the board , a pin is missing etc so i asked is display good or both display and mother board damaged they unable to answer one thing i understood is that i should pay some extra bucks. They charged me around 110 us dollars so i want to ask is is it really motherboard problem or they want more money??
Has it been previously repaired? no amount of rubbing the gunk out of the gap on the screen would make it fall out with a screen falling out it might pull on the flex cable which would pull on the board connector and possibly damage that but with this model there isn't much that can be damaged from the screen falling out, i replaced one yesterday and it has a single cable and adhesive around the screen and frame.

@Mike41 I sent the glass back too. and ordered the lCD combo, I got it, and when I plugged the two up, I think the data cable from the tablet to the screen got distorted, it has a little hump in the contact. not sure if something got under it or what. My same tablet has quit. I did all the things for a black screen. Do you know where in the physical tablet the photos are stored so i can remove that part and try to retrieve the photos?
I don't have the knowledge on how to do it sorry
but it's an extremely technical procedure
So I got the screen replaced. Touch was not working, so did a reset and it worked. Turned off the screen glued down turned back on and now no touch. Is the screen faulty or something I did? I got the screen off again and still not touch.
I saw your video, I hv same tablet but front glass screen cover become a separate his glue leave his strength what shall I do
i would reglue with B7000 Frame adhesive
@@rickstechrepairs ok thanks my dear on precious opinion
Hi Rick thanks for the help. Followed your intructions. The screen works fine but the touch sensor isnt working. Any advice?
Double check the touch panels cable
Possibly a dud touch panel also
Hi Rick I'm having the same issue I've checked the connections and still nothing., I've also looked online for a replacement touch pcb board but to no avail :(
Can you do just the digitizer or is it all glued the whole screen I mean??
The Whole screen is glued, so i would go the path of LCD+Digitizer as one replacement part
is it possible for you to link the item you bought from aliexpress coz i see a lot of em xD?
I'm gonna give this a go for the first time. Let you know the results.
Good Luck
Are people doing a digitizer only replacement on the 2019 model?
there would be but that would require more expensive equipment to do it
Do the flex cables break easily? It was working but before i taped the PCB component down wanted to make sure screen turned on which it did. So i disconnected everything and taped down that and reconnected all the cables back now the screen wont work. Any suggestions?
they can tear, they arent super strong, apart from disconnect and reconnect i cant suggest anything more sorry
Samething. Give us a link where you bought that screen replacement
Just a local purchase to me
Can you give the link where to get the lcd part?
Search the model name and number on ebay or Amazon.
Where did you order the screen and digitizer? That's what a lot of viewers are wondering.
purchased locally
What is this fluid called? Nice Video
Isopropyl alcohol
I am having some issues on the same model where the new or old screen will not show a display now. Any suggestions?
check flex connector that goes from the screen to the mainboard.
make sure battery is disconnected when you do that
what would be the approximate price please
For the whole job or just the part?
I did it all just like that. I finished I tried it and it worked normally. before I put the glue stopped working, what could be wrong?
check digitizer cable and flex cable where it connected to the mainboard
Hi. At 3 mins 25 secs can any help and tell the correct part for the smaller flex what stuck on the back of the lcd? Cheers
sorry, i cant make it out for you
Could you also show how to just replace the digitizer instead of the complete screen? I want to know if that is possible. I have ordered a replacement digitizer but have not managed to get the backcover of the tablet. And the repairshop says this tablet can only the complete lcd+digitizer.
Hi, Im doubtful I could do a video on digitizer only as I only do digitizer+LCD on this model
@@rickstechrepairs ok. I cannot see in the video whether you put the tool from the top of the tablet under the screen or on the side of the tablet. I tried to get the backcover of the tablet, but was not successfull so far. But perhaps, I did it completely the wrong way.
Good tutorial. But I have an issue. Touch is recognized but swiping gestures are not. Any ideas why?
Not sure on that sorry
@@rickstechrepairs I noticed that swiping is working if I apply pressure to the edges of the screen?
where can you get a new digitizer to LCD PCB and ribbon?
Aliexpress
I just want screen replacement pls
Hey I followed everything but the volume button doesn’t work any idea what it could be?
Have followed your video and had a go fixing my smt510 samsung tablet did everything the same but still not turning on no screen showing have charged device could u possibly be ably to help if send photo?thanks
No sorry I no longer have this device
Did you find a fix? I am having the same problem 😭
Thanks a lot. Great help.
Thank you...you helped me to fix my tablet
Great
did this got my kids screen working and as i fliped it a accidentally pulled out the lcd cable ribbon i put it back in now theres sound but the screen is black did i break the screen ribbon
It's possible.it was torn from the LCD itself, even a tear so small it doesn't look like anything has happened
If you still have the cracked screen to test, give that a shot
Did you fix this issue? I'm having the same problem.
What Happens If You Remove the Touchscreen Digitizer While the Tablet is Still Turned On? I'm replacing an unresponsive touchscreen digitizer so I am unable to power down the unit.
i would keep digging until you get to the battery and disconnect it
i got the screen to turn on but i have no touch inputs. can anyone help me? do i need to buy a new daughter board and if so where can i buy just that part from?
Double check the ribbon cable for the digitizer
Remove and reseat
@@rickstechrepairs i ordered a whole new broken tablet and took the digitizer off and the cable. i tested them before i took it off the broken tablet i got for parts. they worked so when i put it on the new screen i have i still cant get any touch functions to work at all. if you can help i would be really greatful. i had this customers tablet for 3 weeks. all bc the first 2 screens i bought didnt come with the digitizer board so i had to wait on refunds. its been such a mess.
Any ideea if i did all of that and is not working . What can be the problem??
check connections
@@rickstechrepairs i did nothing wrong.
Has it been previously repaired?
no amount of rubbing the gunk out of the gap on the screen would make it fall out
with a screen falling out it might pull on the flex cable which would pull on the board connector and possibly damage that
but with this model there isn't much that can be damaged from the screen falling out, i replaced one yesterday and it has a single cable and adhesive around the screen and frame.
@@rickstechrepairs glad you replied
No it's the first time I sent it for repair and the work is still going on I don't know they are telling truth or looting me :(
@@rickstechrepairs will this effect the display or motherboard or both ??
Hlo there so i received it after almost 2 months and also they didn't close the screen perfectly i mean screen didn't fix well ..
The service is terrible at my place....
So should i use any gum or it will be good if i take it back..??
I am having the same problem it's not becoz of rubbing edges it might be cause of your device cover coz it might hold the outer back cover but not the screen itself so when you tilt the device the mass of screen pulled it off its cover so it might be a problem in disconnection of the ribbon umm I am still having my problem tho idk why
I just ordered a digitizer (front glass) for a sm-t510 - It looks pretty simple to separate the broken one from the LCD ?? If I was doing this as a business I would not think twice of charging the customer more for the part to save my time, but my LCD is fine, the glass digitizer just took a tumble. 25$ v/s 70$ LCD. BTW: Thanks for your video
@Mike41 I sent the glass back too. and ordered the lCD combo, I got it, and when I plugged the two up, I think the data cable from the tablet to the screen got distorted, it has a little hump in the contact. not sure if something got under it or what. I wound up sending the screen combo back to amazon and just getting a new tablet, someday I might get brave and try again. it's not for the faint hearted to attempt but for right now I need a tablet and not a project. All in all this looks like a simple repair, I am worried I damaged the tablet electronics.
A new screen/digitizer shouldn't cost more than $35.
Heyy i have a problem. I have the same tablet. i was using it when the display suddenly fell and the orange thing connecting them detached. i watch this vid so i can see how to reattach it again. i did it but it still wont turn on. what should i do? i rlly need help
the orange ribbon cable is called a flex cable it might be have damaged the connector when the screen fell out
i tried to check and i see no damage (at least with what i see with the naked eye). plus it didnt fell hard, and earlier the screen was black but has light, but it disappeared again
I did everything u did but the replacement screen is still black. Not lighting up
Check connection
Possibly another fault
@@rickstechrepairs hmm. Trying to fix it for my daughter. Can you email me? gadawgs16@gmail.com
Anyone know where i can buy a pcb preferably in Australia? Threw my old lcd/digitizer away since it was badly smashed then new one turns up and i need it 😭
i hope you dont mean PCB as in mainboard :(
for something like that i would be looking at getting a damaged second hand one off ebay
@@rickstechrepairs no the little one stuck to the back of the lcd
did you ever find a place that has that little board? im in the same situation
Hello everyone, can someone perhaps help me? The new display is not working even though I have connected everything. I suspect it has something to do with the silver adhesive strips on the back of the display, as the new display doesn't have any. There are black contact points on the circuit board at the corresponding spots. Thank you in advance for any support. :)
Thanks heaps!
Hey can it work with the same screen
Compared to other video's makes a real pigs ear of it. Wanted to see how to replace the digitizer shame did the whole unit.
nar just a simple LCD+Digi Replacement

Dear friend, Thanks for your video. I need a little more help. I did exactly same thing as you shown in video but the screen of my tablet is black after connecting the cable. I de attached and reattached the cable several times but the problem did not solved !!! I am hearing the Bib sound when I am pressings volume UP / Down button , but I see nothing in screen. Please Help me !
Sounds like the new screen might be a dud, or the flex cable that connects to the screen may have damage
Do you know where I can buy a new back and screen?
AliExpress.com would be the place
I need help
what with ?
Thanks that tiny little PCB was a pain in the backside
Glad it helped
you sound like the australian version of Jerryrigeverything.
Cheers, high praise
After LCD Replace Touch Not Work
Check connection on the touch panel, or a faulty touch panel
As soon as I got the pry tool in the screen cracked
Damn
not a good design, cant disconnect battery before working on it..........
agreed
@@rickstechrepairs I have another one here today for screen replacent and I tested the small digitizer board.... It is secured to back of screen with conductive tape to ground it.
very informative
