I had PAF that was occurring more frequently and lasting longer each time. I started Acupuncture and after the second treatment have not had any more episodes. It's been two months of going once a week. My Acupuncturist also gave me a Chinese Herb called "Dan Shen Wan". I feel great and I'm no longer living in fear of my next attack. I was getting at least 2 episodes per month before and they were lasting for a couple of days each time. The difference in how I feel is astounding! Thank you for producing your videos. I have been watching them trying to find a non conventional way to stop the AF. You are doing a great service.

I am taking acupuncture for my afib now. It is helping. I have had afib for 15 years, took medication for 5 years and weaned off, but now that I am 70, the afib starting occurring more frequently and lasting longer, one episode lasted for a week. After once a week treatments for 3 weeks, I am calming down again and feeling better. I also had gone off my low carb diet and I think it had something to do with my afib getting worse. Back on low carb and taking acupuncture once a week is working for me. I take all the vitamins and minerals that I can to stay healthy and get 7 hours of restful sleep per night.
Thank you Dr Gupta. I watch all your videos on Afib. I really enjoy when you refer to the different studies that have been done for different treatments for afib. I don't like invasive procedures with risk for side effects. They really scare me. I know several people that have had ablations and still have afib. I may have to have one one day, but for now I prefer to take care of myself through non invasive methods and I am told by doctors that I am healthy in every other way. I do get occasional echos, and stress tests.

Nothing I love more than seeing main stream doctors embracing alternative treatments. Thank you for being open-minded, kind and communicative. I have been doing acupunctures for two months, and after the fifth treatment my episodes became less frequent and shorter. Hopeful this will reset my parasympathetic nervous system.

Hi Dr. Sanjay you explain in straightforward terms.I believe you are helping people and informing them of the options. That is excellent as they can make decisions based on your expert advice.Very fortunate as you cannot get this anywhere other than you tube. When people see any doctor or specialist they only have a certain time to diagnose and do not go to lengths to explain fully.Honestly I have the greatest respect for you . I at one time worked in the past for a professor of oncology. He wrote papers and they got the lancet every so often. His wife a doctor and paediatric was her specialist field. How very hard they worked and so many meetings. Therefore you are a shining example of a hardworking doctor who spare time for others and you are full not only information but caring and compassionate. How lucky are we. I am immensely grateful. Thank you so much. Thank you for video and blessings and greetings and hugs from the north east of England.xoxo

Thank you so much for these videos. While not necessarily going to try Acupuncture, what I gleaned from this video was the view that AF is caused by an imbalance between fight/flight and rest/digest. That is so true! My events have always followed a too long period of stress without appropriate resting periods.
I love your clarity of thought and your articulation of the issues you discuss. Keep up this good work!

Ian Stewart Tip for people like yourself regarding being over stressed. Have your adrenals checked out BEFORE they become exhausted from being stuck in sympathetic mode response. Don't wait because it will further depress your system and will take exponentially longer to recover from adrenal exhaustion! See a nutritional therapist for testing and nutritional supplement treatments that work to replenish your adrenal glands and health. you'll feel RESTORED! ALSO MAGNESIUM, magnesium, Magnesium!

I told my cardiology nurse I took co enzyme Q10 , which I felt had improved my blood pressure , diabetic control , etc . Her reply was she didn't know of the tablet , but if I wanted to continue taking it and wasting my money , then carry on . This is Birmingham advanced cardiac failure clinic . Utterly shocking and not an isolated experience . Having worked in psychology for much of my working life , if you feel something is doing you some good , there is a very good chance it is , if only on a psychological level ,.

I am an acupuncture futurist and in my time I have had several people with AF that I have treated and have found similar results where the AF length and frequency improved. I have a classmate in school who developed AF after being electrocuted and the acupuncture helped tremendously. I have also noted a number of patients who are having a pulse indicative of AF ( I am also a Paramedic) without an AF history who during treatment convert back to a regular rhythm of pulse. Most of those cases did involve a fair amount of anxiety as well which was similarly improved. Thank you for addressing the study issues as well. Acupuncture is very scientific in the foundational way of observing natural phenomenon and reproducing results in a reproducible manner however it is very hard to do an accurate double blind (pharmacology preferred) style test and should be addressed more like surgery from the standpoint of observing individual improvements. You explained this beautifully

Hi Doctor, love your channel, been watching it since last year. I'm from Indonesia and I have mild MVP with trivial MR after being diagnosed 3 years ago. I've been going to acupuncturist for 2,5 years now and I feel much better after ever since.
Before doing routine acupuncture I have severe anxiety although I've already on beta blocker (Concor 2.5mg), I was too afraid of driving, I'm also too afraid to go out side of my house alone, I was also too afraid of being left alone in the house by my self.
After 6 months of acupuncture the anxiety is almost gone 100%, in the first 3 months I can even drive my car again. My EF is also getting better from 53% to 61%, I can also do routine morning walk, my record is 2KM in 30minutes, I know it's not much but compared to before... I can't even walk 300 meters without panicking along the road :D

I've been doing accupuncture almost daily for three weeks and it has made dramatic improvement in my paroxymal AFIB. Went from being AFIB about 60% of the time to just a few hours in three weeks. If I have an afib episode, accupuncture usually stops it immediately. Daily nap helps reduce relapse.

  • @edwardsanderson4392

Excellent video. As an acupuncturist I would like to say that there are always several ways to treat any given problem. If I was not seeing improvement, I would not keep doing the same treatment for ten sessions. After 2 or 3, I would try a different approach. I usually find paroxysmal AF responds very well to acupuncture. Although I have found the points you mentioned to be beneficial, they are not generally my first choice.

If someone has had an ablation but the a-fib eventually comes back does having had that ablation make acupuncture treatment less effective? Do the changes that are made to the heart (as a result of the ablation) affect a-fib acupuncture treatment success? I have not had ablation as of yet and am presently receiving acupuncture treatment.

I don't have AF, however, I go regularly for acupuncture and have to say that I am astounded at the benefit to my quality of life. I am generally healthy but had some issues with mood disregulation and found quite a transformation after each session. I am a Reg. Nurse and have worked in cardiology, so I am familar with many of the sessions used. I used to notice how uptight many of the patients were, and I understand that there is a link between depression and cardiac events. I am now semi retired, but if I was starting all over again, I would pursue a career in acupuncture. I was interested in the physiology of acupuncture ..... was told that it had to do with morphogenic fields. I've also read up on pulsed electromagnetic field therapy, and actually purchased a PEMF matt. This is a therapy that is offered at many private clinics, and some insurance companies pay for this. Love your videos. Thank you for your input/interest.

    I'm a nurse turned acupuncturist
been at it since the 90's.
I used to treat a guy for shoulder issue; one shoulder stuck up, one down. I treated that by needling his back thoracic region to balance his spine. He told me after that his bursts of SVT stopped!!
Anyhow, my friend told me that she has afib, so I'll be doing a good friend experiment.

I am convinced that my a fib is injury related. I have injured myself in many ways over the years. I also have tinnitus which I feel is bio-feedback from these injuries. It used to present as a whole brain issue. Through acupressure and TaiJi Chi Kung I have reduced this to a left side issue. I had a cerebellar stroke in ‘18 from a whiplash injury, that affected my left side. Through consistent work I have virtually recovered all sensation and mobility in that side. I still have a way to go. I am absolutely convinced of the benefits derived from the Chinese bodywork systems.

After 3 acupuncture treatments in August and September 2022, I was able to cry again. Then in October 2022, I had an episode when my heart paused while standing in my kitchen. Thought I was going to collapse but then heart started beating again in normal sinus rhythm. I laid back in recliner and went to sleep. After I recovered and awakened, I have had no more palpitations, pauses, flutters or afib. I continued seeing acupuncturist every 2 weeks until February 2023. Now I go once a month for maintenance. Heart in normal rhythm. Either it is the acupuncture or I experienced what I call a God-blation. We’ll see how long it lasts.

Another good video. There is one issue I have though that I feel you didn’t give much thought to. Towards the end you mentioned about trying acupuncture as it would be affordable. I have to disagree as for many, particularly those on State Benefit would not be able to afford it. Quite some time ago acupuncture was sometimes done on the NHS, but sadly this was worlds apart from the proper oriental method. A family member had the grand total of 5 sessions to see if it would help with demyelination. They did not do a proper inspection of the tongue or lifestyle and medical review; it was just a quick flip through his notes. The ‘acupuncturist’ caused a great deal of pain too which lasted for 2-3 days after. This should not happen at all; at worst there should be mild tingling.
Despite this though, it is encouraging to hear about the results of the study. Do you know if there will be any further studies? Also any follow ups for those who took part?

I had afib and did not want go on with medication. I went to a chinese doctor and got acupunctur around 20 times. I liked it very much and I felt trust for the doctor. But sorry to say suddenly I got worse and had pain in my breast and back. They sent me in an ambulance to the emergency center in the hospital in Stockholm and I was put into a room for one week. My pulse was very high around 140-150. They twice tried electro chock the heart with no result. I got more betablockers than earlier and dioxin and was sent home after a week. This was a year ago. Today I feel much better and I don´t feel any AF any more and ultra xray said that the Afib is disappeared. My pulse is now about 90 and the doctor recommended me to not stop taking beta and dioxin because the pulse was still too high and the medication had helped me control the situation. The things that surprices me is that the chinese doctor did not see any problem with my pulse. Maybe the effect had not come yet.
Will also say that I appreciate your videos very much and had learned a lot from them.

I did take a little Acupuntor before and didn’t know how well it work. Until one day, we got trapped on an Island, and I got so sick of the Tiger bond, the little sister put on my hold back, I felt cold all the way to my bone in, and thought I would die. And I have an uncle who did learned, just two needles in a little below my knees on bottle legs, I got warm instantly. End of December 2016 I got Stroked, my mouth was dropped on one sigh, and my hand could not pick up things, and mind was foggy, I heard but I can’t right, I went in Emergency stated one hold day in Hospital and all they give me was baby Aspen. I went to Acupuncture right the way, I feel it work for me. After three months every other day Acupuntor I now recovered completely. So for certain muscle or tissue I think it will work, maybe take a little slower but no side effects.
