    When people make comparisons of diamonds to cz they say that a cz scratches easily. This implys that if you buy a cz ring, then the gem will get scratched easily by normal household items, but that is not the case and that is what this video is trying to show. I am not trying to show that nothing scratches it, only that normal household items that are not made to be hard like diamond coated files or corundum coated sandpaper. it is just to show that a cz ring will last a long time without getting scratched, which is contrary to the videos that make out that cz scratches easily.

      same just that I see the Cz's are a bit whiter ( clearer) and the moss ( some ) have a yellow hue to them

    The cz in that video wasn't damaged by what I was doing. I haven't been able to scratch it with anything listed as being under 8.5 mohs. This video was in response to another video where it says that cz's scratch easily. I know that I could damage it by hitting it with a metal hammer and the same would happen to a diamond, but scratching is something that would worry people who wanted to wear it in jewellery, so I showed it doesn't scratch easily.

  • @Diamondcz
    @Diamondcz  11 ปีที่แล้ว +14

    Those are bits of metal coming off of the knife and file, the cz is blunting them. If the dust was cz then it would show damage on the cz, there is no scratches under 10x magnification and I can't magnify it more than 10x. I have tried it with sandpaper for a long time and there were no scratches either. It was intense in the video, I was pressing hard on the file, but it looks weak cos of the sound. If metal can scratch it, then it needs more time or intensity than in this video.

    Thank you for this. I STOPPED admiring diamonds for quite a while now after seeing that Leonardo Di Carpio movie. I never knew about the war and inhumane conditions, sexual abuse, child exploitation (i could go on!) africans suffer just for the trade. No more diamonds for me. I now prefer moissanites or even CZ over diamonds. Affordable and ethical! Jewelers are aware of this but of course why would they care? Because profit.

  • @Diamondcz
    @Diamondcz  11 ปีที่แล้ว +5

    If you mean the trail on the file, then that is where the file is rusty and the cz is taking off the rust and revealing clean metal underneath. Maybe it is scratching, but the white isn't cz shattering and I cannot see scratches with a 10x loupe and I don't have higher than that. Anyway the point is to show that it doesn't scratch easily, what happened when you tried this? and in your opinion, does cz scratch easily?

    • @Diamondcz
      @Diamondcz  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If you dropped it on the floor then that's a chip or crack, cz can chip if you drop it from a height and so can diamonds. If it went cloudy then it's not the best quality cz.

      Edit: I'd also say that the industry makes even more money out of cz. They are made in huge stacks for cents but set in cheap silver they still cost a fortune.

    • @Diamondcz
      @Diamondcz  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      If the cut is round brilliant then you can see distorted words underneath a cz if it is upside down. This test only works if the cut is round brilliant and the reading words test is to show the stone is not a diamond because with a diamond or moissanite you cannot see anything at all through the stone.
