+1 on being able to use the EFX slot for compressors. Like Yamaha boards. Also A&H, please add a pitch shifter and guitar amp for efx. I use a -12 semitone pitch shift on a bus to add lower harmonics on things (the amount is so slight that you can't hear it but feel it). Adds girth to anything from kick and bass to tinny vocals.
Have you recently had any issues with laggy GUI? I have used Avantis in a couple of venues and a festival and noticed delays / lag when I have a lot of D-pack processing in use. I'm so close to buying an Avantis Solo.
I haven't had any issues like that. I also don't use a lot of the D-pack stuff: a couple of de-essers, *maybe* dynamic EQ on a channel or two etc. I would LOVE to replace the X32 in one of the rooms where I mix with a Solo! You can transfer scenes between the regular and Solo too, with a little tweaking.
can you place the multiband comp on the fx rack?
Sadly, no. I also tried cheating the maul-the-band compressor into acting like a wide-band compressor but it doesn't really work for most situations.
