I just purchased this device. I was able to change how quickly the device times out my going to menu - settings- screen timeout and selecting desired time
Your video helped me. I couldn't figure out how to get to the home screen. I didn't know to swipe and wasn't mentioned in the help. 😄 And now they added the screen timeout to settings!
Great question... It'll pull data from whichever provider is best and you'll connect to it as you would with any Wi-Fi network (so doesn't matter if it's a Verizon phone or otherwise). Hope that helps some!
Hello, does it catch network better than just using 5g sim in 5g phone? Because we get 5g phone at much less cost than this. Is this router worth over the 5g phone itself?
Why are 5G mobile routers so much bigger than 4G ones? Sure there's a lot of processing and power usage but smartphones didn't also grow in size like that.
Just to clarify, you can put in a sim card from your provider and just use your own data and not pay for their plans and it will work ? Uo in Canada we have unlimited data plans on some of our carriers amd if you go over the data limit you pay for, such as 20gb per month, they just lower your speed and you still get data with no limit....so this would still work fine as there's no limits correct?
@@gearupaaronI saw though that using your own sim card in these things doesn't get you as fast of upload speeds compared to its own data plans...I need 4mbps minimum and more if possible
Thanks for the review, which is the best I’ve seen on this new device. I also wondered about Solis (US) vs Acer (EU). The two devices appear basically identical. The former is $400 and the latter is €300. However, once the device is purchased, is there any difference in available eSim rates, I wonder? For example, the Solis purchased in the US currently includes 1GB free per month (worth about $8 monthly) for the life of the device, which more than offsets the price premium if this offer is not included with the EU device.
@@gearupaaronI'm from Europe, and my Acer M3 came with 20GB international data that are available for 6 months once activated. Your 1GB free per month is pretty cool too! 1GB / month in my available plans are worth 3.5 euros.

I'm going on a cruise in November, and it seems really expensive to pay for internet access, so I thought about buying this product. My question is, could I use it while I'm on the cruise?
Great question, but unfortunately this works best on land in proximity with cell towers. So unless the ship is close enough to the coast with good reception, I don't think this will do.
I take mine on cruises. I use it from about 7am to 7pm while the ship is docked at port, and while I'm exploring the port or on an excursion. Once the ship leaves port, I'm eating dinner, or at a show, or I'm sleeping, so I don't need Wi-Fi. You might need a plan for sea days, though.
Sorta, but in this case, the service isn't provider-specific. It'll hop to the strongest signal possible no matter the data provider (Verizon, T-Mobile, etc.)
@@gearupaaron cell phones do that already. 5G needs a strong signal, so is there a external antennae option? seriously i must be brain dead or something wrong with me, im not getting this.
@@michaelbrownlee9497 It's not the same as data roaming on phones - usually throughput is greatly reduced when you're out of network. @@michaelbrownlee9497Hotspotting on a phone typically has a cap, published or not, that’ll throttle you down at a defined usage level. And, as already pointed out, roaming for data is even more constrained and problematic as carrier interoperability agreements don’t require full speed obligations.
Do you know if it actually connects to Verizon? I have the Solis Lite and it will ONLY connect to AT&T and T-Mobile. I know your device is the 5G model, but, that's why I'm asking.
Your one SIM card limits you to a single carrier though. Base functionality gets you multiple carriers, so you can actually have more coverage and signal strength capabilities.
Yes and no. If parked and have a solid 4/5G reception, you bet! But in transit, weak reception could definitely affect game throughput. Hope that helps some.
