Great!!! Love the atmosphere or vibe(as someone stated below) this game brought to me back then and even now. The idyllic french country side and ambiance brings a lot of childhood memories. I was 10 when I played this first thought Normandy was the only track on the demo version I had.After one year I had the full version. I like how you gave described the old woman in a rocking chair outside of the porch and her working neighbor. Myself had stopped countless times near them admiring their animation and sometimes ringing the horn just to see if their are having any reaction. But my all time favorites characters are the waving Helga(from Schwarzwald) and Hans the sailor(carrying the box crate) from Zone Industrielle on the suspended bridge. My humble opinion is that this was the last and best game of the franchise who captured my attention and my time even after 23 years after its release. 3 days ago now I've reinstalled it. A great community from IPLounge kept this game alive and up to this day still organizes multiplayer races after the EA cut the plug for PU and HS servers back in 2004. So yeah you can play it with other fans from across the world. All of the bonus cars are available and patch to latest version! EA went the extra mile with NFS Porsche 2000 but the other games of the series are just dull..too dull for me!w

I agree. The older NFS games had more personality, more character. I like the new ones but the older just... play better!

All the tracks in this game have this cozy vibe to them. My favorite was the Cote d'Azur track.
Also 4:24 at max graphics I remember them having faces and better textures

Dude this is severely underrated and underviewed. Like you, I place NFS2 and Porsche as my top two NFS games. This track and all the tracks in Porsche were immersive and let me imagine that If one day I drive down those roads, this is what I would see.
It’s cool to know the games took you me and many others to the same place. Hope you’ll do more video essays on all the Porsche Unleashed tracks - that game was a vibe by itself.

I have a Win 10 machine, and it works rather fine on it. I believe a friend gave me a copy + some cracks & patches. If you can provide an email or something, I can wetransfer the files over to you.
