Gabo well done, I coach the same way (in tennis, padel & beach tennis, different sports but similar in few aspects) with many elements in consideration, kinetic chain , foot work etc and it's so rewarding on clients side of making progress when they really understand the concepts, psychology behinde every sport and as you say ''your shot will be as good as your overall preparation''!!!

Why did you say that you're not a big fan of the bandeja?

We teach vibora mostly or a flat overhead for a beginner. We don’t really teach the overhead as in hitting under the ball as ”bandeja”.

Hi Gabo, at about 0:55 you refer to ear or nose height (and prefer hitting the ball higher to have more margin for error and hitting from high to low if I understood right. )
My problem with hitting the ball higher is that the back glass rebound is then higher. My racket face is probably too closed? How could I get the spin (or something else?) so that the rebound stays low even if I hit higher?
If I hit lower the trajectory will be different and rebound lower but it’s a riskier shot as you say.
Thank you for the videos, they are very inspiring and I try to put the teachings into my game.

You can catch the ball high but still hit the ball on the side (of the ball). It’s hard to know without seeing your technique but what we see with our customers is that the bounce is up if the ”slap” the ball or hit it more bandeja style, under the ball.
But remember, also professionals hit bouncy shots, they just aim it to the sides so the rebound doesn’t matter.
