Purchasing raffle tickets for the house automatically puts us in for the 7/28th motorcycle event?
The house raffle goes to the end of the year. Would we be automatically entered in subsequent motorcycle events, or would we need to buy more raffle tickets for the house?

The Twincam for maintenance, check on the Cam and Cam Chain Tensioner, Oil Pump along with that and check the final drive belt.

“From a Buick 8” was a GREAT book and it’s connection to the Tower series was excellent.
IMPORTANT shadetree have shelby check the cam chain tensioners. Stock it came with spring tensioners instead of the hydraulics . Usually after 35,000 miles with the spring tensioners they are wore out .. maybe convert it over to hydraulic tensioners. Just need the cam plate and tensioners 👍
Up until a month ago I owned FIVE Sportsters 😂 I sacrificed two of them for a hotrod Superglide.
I actually already own a police bike that has pulled me over before. My XT225 was the first female ridden police bike in Ole Miss history. Currently in my living room awaiting the clutch under it in a box and a new choke.

@shadetreesurgeon funny story about that shiny and proud BMW seat. What had happened was…we shaved down the seat then went to JoAnn fabrics and found the most obnoxious fabric we could find and re-wrapped the seat.
The 1979 Sportster was an odd duck . It was the first year of a new frame. They used the same frame as the 1977-1978 XLCR Cafe Racer. Notice that the rear master cylinder is mounted higher than later Sportsters. THis was to accommodate the rear-set foot pegs on the Cafe Racers. This will also make it difficult to find an exhaust header because the m/c is in the way. Paucho used to sell straight pipe headers for the 1979 Sportsters.

I swear Harley owners and classic Brit bike owners are like weird versions of tabletop miniature wargamers.. The amount of bits in their bits box is probably enough to build another bike or two at any given moment. I always say "if you want to buy a Triumph, Norton, or BSA and it doesn't come with at least one box of parts... DON'T BUY IT!"
I just read my first Stephen King book last week, too me 2-3 days, I read the entirety of The Green Mile. I've tried reading Christine a couple times but I always get part way through and stop.. I'm sure it doesn't help that I've seen that movie so many times so I just keep comparing the book to the movie.. I did the same with The Green Mile but I dunno, it just held my attention better.. I will say the ending is a LOT more emotional than the movie, even though they glossed over John Coffey's execution, the movie definitely made it a MUCH bigger deal.

When i moved to Pinellas county back in 1982 .49th street was 2 lane .one lane north and one lane south and it wasnt paved yet .was still a sand road 😊
I have the 85 sporster iron head I’ve just been throwing new upgraded parts at it and runs great without the vintage look

Most police bikes have an upgraded intake and exhaust. Mine has that plus a perfomance cam.

Josh, you need to add colors to those tats. I use to do fine line and color tats. 7 surgeries from a car crash kinda screwed up my plans, hobbies, and careers. I was stopped for a red light and a woman wasn't paying attention and hit me at 35 mph. I was in a work van. If I was on my bike, I would be dead.
Cool vid man. If I had the choice I'd go for the BMW or iron head. Mainly cause I haven't ridden in years and no one would cry if I changed them lol. Not sure if I'd fit on a iron head though...or the BMW lol. Still cool to get a choice. When I have time I tell people about the channel and FA raffles. There are purists on every bike out there. Don't be afraid to change a bike for you. Some will hate it, some will love it, most don't/ won't give a shit.

1979 was a one off year. You may never find pipes to fit and have to make some. If you look at pictures of the 79 sportster the rear pipe has a dogleg in it where previous and later years do not.
I think the KZ would make a sweet drag bike. But at 46 im looking for a larger touring bike. Maybe one of these years the newesr Yamaha Venture will be affordable. That bike just looks badass to me. Id take a glide though!

About to do the msf course and start riding! Deciding between a honda rebel 500 and iron 883. What do yall think i should begin with???
883. I started on an older 82 honda 450 and it was great but there are some situations I found that you want a bit more power for. So 883 would probably be a bit better starter bike as long as its not thrashed.
The rebel 500 is around 140lbs lighter and has about 8 less HP. I think powerwould be a wash due to weight difference. Honda 6 speed, sportster 5 speed. Sportster might hold value better.
The pan am should be called the Sho Dan cuz you gotta do a mawashi geri just to get on it.
