Same here man most barbers cannot get that almost perfect square shape all around the head. Back home I went to the same guy ever since I was a little kid so I guess that helped him master how to shape my very thick straight hair. I also have an egg head lol so that makes it even harder.

When cutting the hair on top...is that just a straight razor? Or is it a razor with teeth?? Awesome technique!! I'm going to use it next time. Asian Hair and Alaskan Native hair are very similar!
His doesn't have the metal screen, it's just a razor.

Barbers always leave a line on the back of my head lol. All that bulk w/o blending the long hair from short hair. Wish they could do it like this. Nice one

one and a half guard to remove the bulk.
One and a half blade, not guard. So it would be close to like a 2 and half, 3 guard

What razor is that? The one you used for cutting the hair?
is there another way to debulk this type of stiff hair? since you almost practically did the fade with free hands, that is impossible for most beginners beginner barbers.
Dear MC, I have a question: have you ever tried cutting hair with an open blade? not the replaceable ones you’re ( and everybody else) is using but the actual straight razor ( for shaving).. I am thinking about trying one, because it’s is basically half a scissor.
