This is a beautiful dance. I love to see the Somali people perform their ancient Kemetic folk dances and music.

I can't stop looking at this video, for some strange reason these dancers, music, clothes and traditional songs take me back to the Nile Valley Civilizations. I'm amazed.

+ShabazzAllah1 Yes ! Dear , we are lucky to keep our ancient pharaonic Folk Dances ! As I researched this dance 'Hoy Dadoo' is linked to Thebes ,in Ancient Egypt ,the women are performing and symbolizing the hieroglyphs of Thebes (greek version) called 'Dado' in ancient pharaonic language

Ok My dear ! I become nervous ,because since my childhood in Djibouti,i used to listen that and all my Somalis brothers and sisters danced Hoydado and Harimaadee "Wilwile" ! I know that Afar dance is different ! You are Innocent ! The family member is maybe from the south of Somalia where there is another dialect ! But this Dance and Poetry is from the North of Somali territory , Djibouti,Diredawa and North of Somalia ( called Zeila,Lughaya region in Somaliland) Ask a Somali from Djibouti and from Somaliland or from Diredawa ! They will tell you , are you a foreigner , this is Somali Dance of our region !
