I've done this replacement as well on my 07 VFR. The real problem with these, along with similar issues with other full fairing sportbikes is the location of the stator on the bike. They just don't get enough air circulation to cool them down. They constantly run hot to the point of failure hence reliability issues. The permanent fix is to either relocate them to a better more open spot or more efficient cooling fins

Why not using a torque wrench?

will the updated R/R also work with 98-2001 VFR's where you eliminate the battery plug that goes directly to the battery?

My VFR800 has a problem with the battery recently. I replaced it with a new battery but it ran out of power after only 2 hours of driving. The situation is the same as the host said.

Hey guys great video. On a healthy VFR is just one of your new MOSFET R/Rs good enough as a total solution for the VFR?

Hi and thank you for this video.
I got the same bike and my stator wires get a very high temperature as soon as I start the engine. However the regulator remains cold and the battery doesn't charge well.
Is my situation similar to the problem encountered by the vrf on your video?
Thanks ang greetings from France 🇫🇷👍

Can you explain why you didn't do the same with the 5th gen(2000/2001) R/R (SKU RM30505H)- connect directly to the battery for the voltage ? Can you use the 6th gen R/R you are showing here on the 5th gen?

At 8.27 you say the connector will not be used. Previous owner has a sat nav wired to one those wires so when bike is started is at nav gets power. If I go for mosfet regulator what happens then given regulator is not connector…sorry if this is a stupid question as a result I’m leaning to buy old style…can anyone please help

What if my charging system reads 14.77 when the throttle is pulled?

Just to confirm, you apply a light coating of RTV on BOTH sides of your gasket? So the cross-section is:
Stator cover - RTV - gasket - RTV - mount?

only on the casting side necessary, the cover is 1 piece.

Hi guys what's the name of that black thing rapped around the fuel tank?

It's a tank bra. Not popular here but more so in Europe
