    Thank you for this video. We just got our first van and all the salesman told us was that he didn’t like Truma. He left our switch on 60 degrees and said the power switch beside it was for the water pump and the red light meant it was on. He also told us that the water tank was our grey water tank. So basically we have had to work most of the functions of our van by ourselves. Thank goodness for a friend who is an experienced camper and was able to help initially but your explanation here was invaluable for us newbies!

      We’re happy that our video helped, feel free to subscribe to our channel and check out our other videos that may also help. Sounds like your salesman didn’t know much about the product he was selling 😢

    Craig, did you install the HWS or was it installed by StarVision?

    • @AusCamping
      @AusCamping ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi David, it was factory installed. The Truma UltraRapid is actually a very good and reliable unit which is factory installed in most of the StarVision hybrid models

    In my just purchased CX2 I found the power cord without a plug or not connected to a switch. I queried Star Vision. Their reply " The Truma is gas only". The discussion is ongoing

      Hi Dave, I do see on their website that for the CX2, they only specify gas for the hot water. I wonder if it is not possible for them to cable a 240V outlet to the location or maybe some other safety reason due to the location and the Australian regulations. Have a chat to Kyle at Head Office, if there’s a reason why it’s like that then I’m confident that he would tell you and if not, then he should be able to organise to get it fixed.

      @@AusCamping Yeah ! Just waiting on a reply for my warranty work, plus an extra battery, dcdc. Had the van out for a weekend already. It is just what the doctor ordered. I am sure there will be a happy ending.

      @@AusCamping they might be using a (cheaper) system which is designed for 110VAC.

      A possibility, although they build them all in the same factory so it would seem strange that they would use a different water heater in only one model 🤔

    Does the system have to be full of water to use gas?

    • @AusCamping
      @AusCamping ปีที่แล้ว

      It should always be full of water before heating but generally it will stay full between trips unless you are draining it for safety in cold climates where damage might occur as a result of water freezing in the pipes

      I didn’t install it mate, I’m just helping others understand how to use it. But I agree, the manufacturer could have done better.
