learned this when f(x) released rum pum pum pum in 2013 because the korean title mentions sarangni as well (forget the exact title) so it was cool to see the metaphor(?) used again. illit was much more direct with the tooth imagery but it’s cute.
사랑니 (sarangnee = wisdom tooth). In Korea wisdom tooth called sarangnee bcs they come in at the age when many young people experience love (and the pain of first love) for the first time. That's why at the end they 'propose' their crush with wisdom tooth ring 😁
It's what I wanted after Magnetic, it's different and chill but shows a different side of ILLIT and that was the goal. ILLIT could have fallen into the trap of making Magnetic 2.0 but they took a risk and it worked Cherish is just as good as Magnetic imo!
really, for me the MV style and the structure feels like mgnetic in a less good version...its not 2.0, but its quite the same vibe and idea...personally
I love the concept for this comeback and love it even more that Yunah suggested it. It’s great when the artists have a hand in their work in some way! I hope this comeback is full of amazing memories, they deserve that!🎉❤
I love you’r honest opinion, I really like this comeback is very soft and dreamy, ILLIT start to grow on me so mush. Moka is also very cute. Can’t wait to watch them live with this gentle choreo too.
Lil bit of context for the MV, "Sarangnee" in Korean means wisdom teeth which also symbolize "first love" there cause wisdom teeth usually grow between the ages of 18-25, around the first time we start developing feeling for someone. Plus, the pain we feel when wisdom teeth grow is often compared to the pain of the first heartbreak. That's why in korean, we call wisdom teeth = love teeth or sarangnee When singing , they always said ch ch ch ...from cherish word , the sound as same as when we brush our teeth
Hybe and BELIFT really are so good in producing songs. Lots of very good composers work for this and the whole album with illies cutesy voices to make this masterpiece
He was me when i first listen to this song. Now the "Ch Ch Ch Ch Cherish my love" is going round and round non stop in my head like stop, i'm trying to take a nap 🥲 Love the song tho
I used to watch your reactions a long time ago, but couldn't deal with the constant pausing. I'm surprised you've changed it, and it's obvious you're struggling to adapt to this new format. I respect that, because I do think this is a better format and makes for better reactions, especially because in my case I found out about new music through watching reactions.. This new style covers all bases. I'll be most certainly watching more of your reactions from now on.
I wanted to add, I appreciate the honest opinion. Most reactors should understand that it's ok not to like EVERYTHING. You can respectfully dislike something, or not completely love something. At least on a first impression. It's fine.
I loved how you watched the mv without any pause for the first listen, instead of, (like other content creators, no shade to them though) paused every 10 seconds to talk.
The album is very good, but I feel this song sounds more of a b-side, so I was actually expecting "I'll like you" to be the main track cause it has the album name on it and has the title track feeling to it. Either way, I think the overall vibe fits very well to all the members c:
Day 13: You should react to Stray Kids having fun recording- it shows their studio and some of the processes of their songs, but it also is just hilarious
I noticed that instrument aswell, which sounds not good for me and the chorus is really repetetive and the overall style and concept looked really similar to the magnetic MV. Something about the beat / melody made it hard for me to enjoy it and the MV story doesnt make sense for me, they choreo is good and they really focused on the execution, but the MV, melody , lyrics and overall song is just not for me
Yea the teeth thing was kinda weird to me (eventhough I understand the meaning). At least its SO out there, there won’t be any plagiatism allegations lol
The image of wisdom teeth appears throughout the video because for Koreans, they symbolize them as "first love". As we usually grow wisdom teeth at the age of 18-25 and this is also considered the age when we start to have feeling for someone. In addition, when wisdom teeth grow, we often feel a lot of pain just like "heart attack" because of first love, so people named wisdom teeth "love teeth". - someone commented this on the mv
The girls are ready to find love and not even God can stop it :) Wisdom teeth are called love teeth(= "Sarangnee") in Korea. This clip symbolizes first love, growing pains, and rites of passage for adolescent girls. Love teeth usually appear after puberty or secondary sexual characteristics, so the expressions and metaphors in this clip are very clever and interesting

"CH- CH- CH- CH-" is the sound you make when you brush your teeth 🦷🪥
Yaaah that's smart. And it make sense with the tooth everywhere... The MV reminds me to take care of my teeth lol
I didn't notice, so smart!
I know right
Chika Chika (when you teach your child to brush their teeth in Korea )
Ouuhhhh, make sense 🤯
I love this song so much! If you liked twice’s early songs you will definitely love this song! Its so fun and fresh
😂 twice early songs were bunch of h*rny songs
@@bjird7278WTF NO
For context - 사랑니 sarangni (written here as sarangnee) is "wisdom tooth", but a literal translation is "love tooth"

omg so cute
i guess it was saranghe (love), wow didnt notice
I think it’s pretty catchy, sweet and dreamy. I loved it. Such a chill follow up to energetic magnetic

This is as catchy as magnetic, but has a dreamy vibe like 'Midnight Fiction'. This is another #1 from ILLIT.
I love the concept for this comeback and love it even more that Yunah suggested it. It’s great when the artists have a hand in their work in some way! I hope this comeback is full of amazing memories, they deserve that!🎉❤

ANOTHER BOP SONG AFTER MAGNETIC YESSS!!!
Me at first> postive song, good MV but magnetic was better
Me now > CH CH CHERISH MY LOVE
This curisve singing girl is soo good
The pipeline from “meh” to “I want to get this song injected into my bloodstream” is so real honestly
Minju!
That’s Minju😂
i hope you'll check out their b sides bcs its rlly good imo
i love this song🧡

thank you for the reaction
All I know is that this song is addictive😂

This song is super cute and laid back and the MV was brilliantly creative 👏
ILLIT! I love ILLIT!

In Korean, wisdom tooth are love tooth. SaRang(love)Nee(tooth)
It's funny how cultural differences can change the same word into different words.
What if it is actually a brand collaboration song and they are only about to announce it hahaha the toothpaste or toothbrush is called Cherish heheh
I loved how you watched the mv without any pause for the first listen, instead of, (like other content creators, no shade to them though) paused every 10 seconds to talk.
Pausing every 10 seconds is what I actually used to do for the last 5 years lol. I switched up the format recently, glad to hear you enjoy it!

I didn’t really get the point of the teeth lol but the song is good
That is the meaning of sarangnee
Yea the teeth thing was kinda weird to me (eventhough I understand the meaning). At least its SO out there, there won’t be any plagiatism allegations lol
@@xoluciaxo_3721It’s a wisdom tooth concept.
