[Baymax hugging GIF] The bad men's who can't follow instructions to kill a ONE-EYED ADULT MAN can't hurt you no more! Ironically, had they actually followed orders, it would have removed one of the most powerful weapons Team Green had. But, NOOOOOOOOOO!!!!
Well, they ruined Blood&Cheese all right, could have been one of TV history's most haunting moments, another Red Wedding, but instead the show's version was a complete let down, rushed and underwhelming to say the least. If only they adapted the book's version which was perfection!!!! In the book Daemon gave the order to murder Aegon's heir not Aemond, a son for a son he said. It wasn't a mission gone wrong, typical Daemon didn't give a rat's ass about the babies, in the book Viserys adored his grandchildren and used to tell them stories of ancient Valyria. Blood and Cheese sneaked into Alicent's room through the secret passageways Rhaenyra used to get out of the Red Keep in the first season, they gagged Alicent and waited. When Helaena arrived with her three babies, Blood killed her guard before proceeding to grab her eldest son, Prince Jaehaerys, while Cheese took hold of her younger son, Prince Maelor. Then she was asked on which of her sons she wanted them to kill, the queen pleaded with them to kill her instead, which was turned down and Blood reminded her that it has to be a son, warned Helaena that she and her children would die if she screamed. They threatened they would rape her baby daughter if she didn't make a choice soon. When she was once again forced to make the impossible choice under the threat that all of her children will be killed, the queen tearfully chose Maelor, the youngest son, she believed that Maelor was too young to understand. Seeing that she had chosen Maelor, Cheese whispered into the boy's ear, mockingly saying, "You hear that, little boy? Your momma wants you dead." Instead they decapitaded Jaehearys to Helaena's horror, and she began to scream. This is by far the superior Blood&Cheese version. In the show the guards had vanished, made no sense, kicking the dog was more impactful and Alicent humping Cole at the end took away from Haelena's tragedy, people were laughing. Idk, and it's not like the book readers anticipated to witness the beheading of a baby, it's just that GRRMs version of a mother's impossible choice would have made for great drama, a lost opportunity indeed I might add.
This takes me back to Jay’s comments part way through season one where he asked how watching this makes anyone’s day better….they just beheaded a small child.
As the father of a son, 14, and two daughters, 12 and 8, I can empathize with you Jay. The worry ebbs and flows as they grow, but it never runs dry and some things, like this episode, will make you think thoughts that you wish you could just permanently delete out of your mind the moment they happen. But even with all that, they are an absolute joy and totally worth it (to me at least)
Blood & Cheese was a lot more darker in the book then what they showed, but the tension leading up to that moment was still great. Also we got a name drop in the epsiode for Dalton Greyjoy aka the Red Kraken😈, but they'll probably save his appearance for season 3. I'm just hoping we see the lads & bloody ben this season along with my girl Black Aly !! 💯🙏 #TeamBlack !!!!!!!
Sadly we won’t see black aly nor bloody Ben this season. The list of all the new characters for this season were revealed earlier this month n their name weren’t included, so we won’t see The Lads, Black Aly, nor Elmo Tully. I just really hope they don’t cut them out at all 😬
God, this kind of reminds me of when (I think it was when I was watching Season 2) I was still more or less post partum (and having a lot of problems with invasive anxiety/thoughts about terrible scenarios/violent harm coming to my children) and there was that scene where they kill all the baby bastards by drowning, stabbing, etc. I had to nope out a bit.
Thank you Jay, for your reaction, mine was the same. I saw tons of comments from people complaining that the last scene was too little and not like in the book (I haven't read the book) and I thought what's wrong with you people!!! I have a big imagination, as a mother of a child of a similar age, it hit me very hard...
Emma D'Arcy had just ONE line the entire episode. All the rest of their story was told through their face and the help of the costuming, makeup, and hair depts.
My wife had the same reaction. She said she refused to watch the rest of the season for fear of more. She eventually read what happened in the books to ensure she could watch the rest. Spoiled everything (if they stay true) but she kept it to herself and said she could watch the rest.
All great answers. Also, re: regular guards (as in, non-KG - of which there are only 7) = Just got murdered by Larys. Possibly guards are in-training/not at full strength.

I watched this episode and I knew poor jay was not gonna be okay
This takes me back to Jay’s comments part way through season one where he asked how watching this makes anyone’s day better….they just beheaded a small child.
the way my first though after watching this ep was to be worried about jay, says everything about how much yalls channel lives in my mind rent free.
Sending hugs for this episode and the next, good lord
Giving Jay all the love
As the father of a son, 14, and two daughters, 12 and 8, I can empathize with you Jay. The worry ebbs and flows as they grow, but it never runs dry and some things, like this episode, will make you think thoughts that you wish you could just permanently delete out of your mind the moment they happen. But even with all that, they are an absolute joy and totally worth it (to me at least)
We love you Jay.
Wish they did it like the books, so Jay could go catatonic
Jay: I just need to mentally prepare for this show.
Illidan Stormrage: YOU ARE NOT PREPARED!
Larys Strong be creeping around scheming like an early version of Little Finger, hell he now called Big Toe from henceforth
Adam, "WAIT we don't know what happens yet".
Me, "Dude, don't you hear that slicing and crunching"?
Blood & Cheese was a lot more darker in the book then what they showed, but the tension leading up to that moment was still great. Also we got a name drop in the epsiode for Dalton Greyjoy aka the Red Kraken😈, but they'll probably save his appearance for season 3. I'm just hoping we see the lads & bloody ben this season along with my girl Black Aly !! 💯🙏
#TeamBlack !!!!!!!
They also showed Corlys bastard son Alyn and Hugh the Hammer
Sadly we won’t see black aly nor bloody Ben this season. The list of all the new characters for this season were revealed earlier this month n their name weren’t included, so we won’t see The Lads, Black Aly, nor Elmo Tully. I just really hope they don’t cut them out at all 😬
You dropped this, Jay👑you’ll be alright, bud😊they also kicked a dog so I’m waiting for them to get their just desserts as well
I can relate with Jay man, this SHOOK me
That dog.....thats Poppins from Always Sunny. Literally. He lives forever.
Hey Jay, we all love you and I think we're all super nervous about your reaction to this, especially those of us who read the books. Big hugs
Yeahhh I figured this would hit you hard Jay. I’m so so so sorry you weren’t aware of this plot point.
All the rest of their story was told through their face and the help of the costuming, makeup, and hair depts.
ooof, I hope Jay is okay, that was great but also understandably rough... What a way to return to this, damn
I've got you jay
Looks like I hate it.
A slight tonal shift from Bluey!! I don't think I've ever seen Jay quite that traumatized 🥺
My wife had the same reaction. She said she refused to watch the rest of the season for fear of more. She eventually read what happened in the books to ensure she could watch the rest. Spoiled everything (if they stay true) but she kept it to herself and said she could watch the rest.
She's goig to into orbit when she finds out how badly the target was missed, and, it' a time of war, where were all of the guards?
Thee guard was in Alicent's red-haired keep
^ but we also saw earlier that the guards are more worried about dragons attacking at any moment
That as well. they were vulnerable in the most possible way.
Literally 75% of guards were in the throne room with the king. Cristen was banging, and remaining were probably walking around looking for dragons
All great answers. Also, re: regular guards (as in, non-KG - of which there are only 7) = Just got murdered by Larys. Possibly guards are in-training/not at full strength.
Jay, I know it's a tough one. All the best, sir.
Poor Jay. ❤
not a total monster ??? babes Alicent is the least evil in this world of aberrations
Rhaenyra is the least evil
Haven't watched the reaction yet, but I can imagine what Jay is gonna go through. As a dad, it's a tough watch.
That ending was GNARLY
I’ve been worried for Jay for this episode since they announced the episode titles back months ago. I really hoped someone in their Discord community would like warn Adam to warn Jay so he could like brace himself- I haven’t even watched the video yet. I guess I’ll find out if he goes in blind or not 😓
I'll never forget looking over at my partner when those noises were ringing away thinking.... what the fu-............. They went STR8 end of season mode with that scene... right off the bat...
Ah, thanks for identifying Kieran Bew! Ive been trying to figure ot out. Warrior is a great show, and they have to bring him back on HOTD for more scenes.
