      I'm not a sophisticated skier but I have a lot of days on them with 88s and 105s. I've skied them back-to-back with F1 LTs and I'd say they're pretty similar except the flex feels nicer and more cushy (and maybe less rattily) on the XTs. The buckles on the XT work well and seem durable but I'm not sure they're worth the weight penalty over the LTs for what feels like similar performance - my 27 XTs weight around 1140 grams with stock footbed and ps

      @benkraft1558 please can you weight the insoles of the xt? About the xt will be better descender since the 15° cuff position right? Also have the extra posibility +2° with the rear velcro spoiler?
      Im owner of a LT and use with 95mm ski and will like a bit more descend performance but in size 28 not more tha 1300grams.
      Thanks

    Are there any pure touring boots that don't flex like crazy?

      Quattro xt is stiff as rails. Most 4 buckles are certainly sufficient but Quattro is the stiffest I've tried and I've flexed them all.

      depends on your weight as well. I am around 70kg (154 lbs) and I am on regular maestrale, they are just right for me in terms of stiffness, also love the middle buckle, which pushes my heel down and backwards...

      @@sendit6683 - I was more thinking lightweight touring boots, not the crossover touring/freeride category.

      I think the skorpius is decently stiff for a 1100g boot that tours nicely. The zero g pro isn’t much heavier, almost certainly skis better, and walks much worse.

    Pretty sure the lower shell is the exact same carbon infused shell as the LT. Maybe you're confusing this with the GT that has the punchable shell? My XTs came with the same card in the box telling you not to modify the shell. Otherwise I like how they ski but I'm no expert

    • @thicccboyztv
      @thicccboyztv  ปีที่แล้ว

      Per the website they do state the shell is a different material. I agree however it looks and behaves similarly

      @@thicccboyztv you're definitely right about this - the card telling you not to punch the F1 XT's probably only applies to the carbon infused cuffs, these do seem to use the same non-carbon lowers as the standard boots. Stoked that these might actually be punchable!
      The gator pulls and cam buckles on the powerstraps have failed on my boots, would be curious if you've seen the same issues

      @@thicccboyztv @ben kraft I just received a pair and they look very fragile to me honestly. I would be wary to walk on a rock with them. Also what about that nut inside the shell that holds the upper end of the cable right in front of the navicular area. Do you think the liner will effectively protect from this for more than 3 outings? Funny that you punched near the RP of Scarpa, thats exactly where I would need it punched as well, as my foot doesnt rest so perfectly well on the outer shell as it did with the original F1.
      I didnt like so much the disclaimer saying that the boot lasts 3 years. The nut thing inside. And honestly the general finition quality. Also the front section of the cable doesnt move at all even if I crank the buckle. That lower buckle is just there to press down the foot but it doesnt tighten the shell at all.
      The promise of improved downhill was nice but side by side with an original F1, im not so sure. Also the mobility is not really better, but maybe thats due to the liner being brand new and unbroken.

      not so sure I want to trust these boots in the backcountry.
