- The build-up to their dramatic separation which resulted in Adam Rickitt's departure from the show so that he could pursue a pop career. This just goes to show how foolish the couple were to get married at such a young age although you empathize more with Leanne because of what she had to go through thanks to Nick who wasn't all he seemed to be when she first met him. Again, superb acting from Jane Danson who was only 20 at the time.

the actress was around 48 here, having said that 90s people in their 40s looked significantly older than people of that age today. Like in Eastenders compare Pauline Fowler in the 90s to actresses of the same age today like Sharon and you will see what I mean.
Right now, she looks fantastic for her age, considering Helen's nearly 70
I love how Karma has treated Leanne , she got what she deserved all in the 2000's and 2010's
She's barely done much wrong, especially compared to how Nick treated her in the marriage. She certainly isn't perfect, but here she isn't in the wrong.

Nick and Leanne simply weren't meant for each other. They married too young. If she wanted to, Leanne could have dumped Nick after a few months then found herself another lad or two because that is the way she was when she came to the street but obviously the producers and writers wanted to make her a lot more likeable and sympathetic so they had her married to Nick.

Leanne went away for school after this and maybe she didn't have a abortion in the first place but gave the baby away when it was born
Doc Ramsey Susan Barlow aborted a baby back in 1988... then suddenly it turns up as Adam and no one knew he existed

they say good looks are a curse and when i watch clips like this i see why-Adam rickett was very handsome and looked such a pin up boy but to watch him here it's impossible to take him seriously as an actor simply because he is just too good looking and all you notice is his beauty. It diminishes the story telling and drama which is what Corrie was famous for and it makes it harder to engage with the character. That's fine if it's Home and Away or some naff teen show but Corrie isn't that style nor does it cater for that audience market and he just doesn't fit into the culture of the show in any way. I can see why actors say it is a hindrance.
To be fair if Gail was my Mum I'd loose my shit too
