Guru Zasep Tulku Rinpoche now lives in my heart. Thank you for the recent Chöd and White Mahakhala initiations. I'm looking forward to recieving Black Manjushri initiation from you in 10 minutes. Thank you for pouring the pure gelug lineage into our hearts 💕 💞 ♥
So grateful to receive this teaching -- a wonderful practice during a time of need for so many! Please, Rinpoche, stay a long, long time, continuing to shower us all with your many blessings! Holly
Thank you so much Rimpoche. I just sold my home and am in between in rental car and a hotel so this is a great great support and blessing. Thank you! Much love and gratitude:)
Thank you for your reply on another video about my son's epilepsy. I searched for Black Manjusri and found this. Since my son is too young to follow, can i do this meditation and visualise for my son and dedicate the merit to him?
Dear Dharma Friend, According to many teachers, it is helpful, yes, especially if you have faith. When practicing for others, you try to visualize the healing light going into your son. In this case, it's a blue light (blue is healing and also the color of Black Manjushri -- he's a dark, dark space-like blue black). Always try to start by taking Refuge in the Three Jewels and Bodhichitta intention (any mantra, really). Something like: I take Refuge in the Three Jewels, Buddha Dharma and Sangha, until I attain Enlightenment for the benefit of all sentient beings. Then chant the mantra. Enjoy the peace of the experience. Visualize your Yidam in front of you and your son (Manjushri's body made of healing light). If you do not have empowerment, visualize Black Manjushri's peaceful form (he looks like Manjushri only blue black). While you chant, blue healing light (this is also Medicine Buddha's color) comes from Manjushri's heart and enters your son's heart (you visualize this, and have faith that it is happening.) When you are finished, you dedicate merit, but it is important to make the motivation for the benefit of all sentient beings as well (regardless of our aspiration, we aspire to benefit all beings.) Something like "I dedicate the merit of this practice to the cause for Enlightenment for the benefit of all beings, and especially for the healing of my son." Something along those lines. You might also add Medicine Buddha's Dharani to your meditation, its' very wonderful, famous for healing but also just helps you feel calm and empowered. In kindness, Metta, BW
May I ask, besides chanting for someone for illnesses, in my case I am chanting for my son, is there any mantra that is recommended to chant for his past lives' debtors? Or shall I chant any repentance prayer on his own?
Yes, Vajrasattva practice is the the ultimate purification practice. Even Sadhanas of other Yidams usually start with Vajrasttva's mantra as a purification prior to formal practice. We have an introduction, visualilzation here on our channel titled "Vajrasattva Visualization and Practice for Buddhist Healing and Purification" th-cam.com/video/533-VY_x04k/w-d-xo.html&t THE FOUR RS: Vajrasattva (and other practices) have the formal FOUR RS which are important for purification are undertaken formally in Vajrasattva practice (but you can apply them with any Yidam if you have one). They are: REFUGE (or Rely, if you prefer): Relying on the Three Jewels as your Refuge REGRET Regretting your past negative karma, both deliberate and accidental REMEDY The Remedy in this case is Vajrasattva practice including his purifying visualization and mantra REFRAIN Promising to refrain from negative actions in future. In Vajrasattva Practice these are all explicitly meditated on step-by-step including the promise to refrain. His mantra is also beautifully chanted on our channel in a shorter video and a long play 2 hour (I suggest if you're doing a purification session, longer is very good if you have time and can combine it with the Vajrasattva purification visualization.): th-cam.com/video/hpg4h4XqqQY/w-d-xo.html&t His mantra is: Oṃ Vajrasattva samayam anupālaya Vajrasattva tvenopatiṣṭha dṛḍho me bhava sutoṣyo me bhava supoṣyo me bhava anurakto me bhava sarva siddhiṃ me prayaccha sarva karma sucha me chittaṃ śreyaḥ kuru hūṃ ha ha ha ha ho ḥbhagavan sarva tathāgata vajra mā me muñcha vajrī bhava mahā samaya sattva āḥ THE FOUR Rs can be used in any practice. If your Yidam is Tara or Manjushri you just consciously apply these four resolutions in your practice. But, for people struggling with purification, the most often recommended is Vajrasattva. Hope this helps. In kindness, BW

THE FOUR RS: Vajrasattva (and other practices) have the formal FOUR RS which are important for purification are undertaken formally in Vajrasattva practice (but you can apply them with any Yidam if you have one). They are:
REFUGE (or Rely, if you prefer): Relying on the Three Jewels as your Refuge
REGRET Regretting your past negative karma, both deliberate and accidental
REMEDY The Remedy in this case is Vajrasattva practice including his purifying visualization and mantra
REFRAIN Promising to refrain from negative actions in future.
In Vajrasattva Practice these are all explicitly meditated on step-by-step including the promise to refrain.
His mantra is also beautifully chanted on our channel in a shorter video and a long play 2 hour (I suggest if you're doing a purification session, longer is very good if you have time and can combine it with the Vajrasattva purification visualization.): th-cam.com/video/hpg4h4XqqQY/w-d-xo.html&t
His mantra is:
Oṃ Vajrasattva
samayam anupālaya
Vajrasattva tvenopatiṣṭha
dṛḍho me bhava
sutoṣyo me bhava
supoṣyo me bhava
anurakto me bhava
sarva siddhiṃ me prayaccha
sarva karma sucha me
chittaṃ śreyaḥ kuru hūṃ
ha ha ha ha ho
ḥbhagavan
sarva tathāgata vajra
mā me muñcha
vajrī bhava
mahā samaya sattva āḥ
THE FOUR Rs can be used in any practice. If your Yidam is Tara or Manjushri you just consciously apply these four resolutions in your practice.
But, for people struggling with purification, the most often recommended is Vajrasattva.
Hope this helps. In kindness, BW
