I like how you show a demo and how it works up front, so we can decide if its something we want, then you move to the installation. Probably the best way to handle this.
Thanks!! It took me a while to start doing this, but that's why I did it: so the viewer can see how it works and then follow the install if they want :) Thanks for watching and commenting!! :)
Hi there, I am happy to see a video on paperless ngx on your channel. Been using the software for about 2 years now, and it gets improved constantly. Can't imagine having been able to do my paper stuff for my own office without paperless before.
@@DBTechYT my pay stub is emailed to me weekly, now paperless just gets the email and processes it for me. Any time I need to provide check stubs it is a 2 second search.
@@DBTechYT been thinking as I was driving and the ability to have PDF files automatically processed would be an excellent protection from malicious files disguised as PDF files. Paperless would fail to process them.
Paperless is so awesome and I should be using it more than what I am. I may look into adding a second user and use it for my work files as well. Can't wait for the in-depth videos so I can learn more of the uses and features that I haven't explored myself yet.
Awesome video. I was completely unaware of this, and now I really want to try it. Remember Visioneer Paperport from the late 1990s and early 2000s. It was a document manager with build in OCR the HP bundled with their SCSI-powered scanners. Needless to say, this looks a bit nicer. :P
I remember my dislike for those with a passion lol. It never worked 100% unless you printed something with 20pt fonts lol. This is WAY better than that. You can even set most scanners on you r network to scan to a specific folder now and allow Paperless to auto-import as DB is doing on his setup.
@@DBTechYT I feel like I might need to read the manual and spend a week making sure I know how to use it before I'm comfortable putting critical data in it. It feels like an enterprise Document Management System. :)
My current setup is having all personal files meticulously ordered in my Nextcloud directory that seamlessly syncs across devices and only files relevant for the local system outside, so I don't really see the benefit for me. Seems like it would be great for someone, as you've said, who doesn't keep every file named properly, so my first impression of this tool is more of a bandaid to get some order into the chaos. But that doesn't beat a system that is ordered to begin with or am I missing any further advantages?
I'm in the midst of implementing it in our household and just saw your upload, sweet! Do you think, from the short time you've used it, you could see it as an option for a DMS in a small business?

great tool indeed ; however from version 2.10 to version 2.11 they changed the version of postgres from 15 to 16, I had to do reimport the data using a dump

And added these two lines 1) "//192.168.99.3/paperless /mnt/paperless cifs credentials=/root/.smbcredentials,uid=100000,gid=100000 0 0" in fstab of Proxmox 2) a mount point of "mp1: /mnt/paperless,mp=/mnt/paperless" to paperless container The mp=/mnt/paperless will match the lines in yml file here volumes: - data:/usr/src/paperless/data - media:/usr/src/paperless/media - /mnt/paperless/export:/usr/src/paperless/export - /mnt/paperless/consume:/usr/src/paperless/consume but the container can't write to the two folders. Any suggestions on how to fix this? Thanks

If you have pdf’s that are not searchable, move them into paperless, and they become searchable. The ocr is pretty good
Been using paperless for a while now. It makes life so much easier and I haven't even got it set up to the point that I can use it at it's fullest.
Once I realized I could point it to my scan folder, I new this was going to be an awesome addition to my homelab. Still SO much to dig into with it :)

Nice video and review, little detail: it seems that your camera is having a constant focus battle with the moving image on your TV
Yeah... It was having those issues without the TV as well. I've made some adjustments recently to help prevent the focus issues
Great application. Only thing stopping me from using it is that I can't find any info on backing up the documents in the application.
