long time viewer, first time commenting. I wanna thank you Matt for taking us along on your golf journeys and your guidance. I golfed the other day and for the first time broke 80 (hit a 78 when I normally hit upper 80s) and I put away from driver. I was focused on stress free golf and used my hybrid off the tee each time as I can hit that consistently straight. Cheers mate!
Just did the EXACT same thing, that is wild. 5 wood or 2i off every tee. shot 78 back to back rounds. First time in my life breaking 80 as well!! Congrats what a feeling it is
First time ever breaking 80 today. Was at my favorite course and hit the ball insanely well. I’ve used a lot of your advice about putting and was hitting putts inside 10 feet left right and center. Also didn’t let my ego get the way. Thanks for the advice! Now on to 75!
I love how this TH-cam channel is more immersive and interesting to watch than PGA which has millions to work with. The shot trace, hole map and thought process brings you right into his game.
(Among a lot of other useful things) This channel got me away from taking out the "big boom stick" at every thinkable tee box, my scores are rocketing towards single digits now!
Interesting watching you do heads up putting last year. I read "Putting out of your mind" yet again and tried the same thing a few times. It really helped to remind me to find a target for every putt. I found that I often missed the ball as well but I still feel that it was a valuable exercise.
That’s the worst I’ve seen you off the tee, but your game is robust to it and you still managed to score well. This round was fun to watch and learn from.
Hey Matt! Just wanted to say I started golfing September 2021 and have recently started breaking into the 80's, my lowest being an 87, and I wanted to give you hella credit for me keeping my head during tough rounds and for my course management. I find my driver to be a coinflip either being fairway-ish and like 250 yards, or 100 yards offline with a slice so I've ditched it completely and hit 3 wood or 5 wood off of par 4's and 5's. Hoping to break 80 in the next few seasons. Cheers for the great content.
Just wanted to comment after watching a lot of your videos and let you know you’ve helped me finally break 80 today. High Bridge Hills golf course NJ USA- par 70 6541yds from black tees - front 9 - 41 ; back 9 - 37. I had your commentary and mindset in the foreground. “No hero shots” and “being 100% committed to the shot” were the pillars that got me through it. Cheers!
Matt's a really good iron player. Didn't drive it all that great but still hit I think 13/18 GIR. Throw in a couple scrambles and voila, a 73. Thanks for sharing.
Loving the polo and shoes! Was away from youtube more while you were traveling the states. Amazing to see you play pebble beach and experience the course and caddies! Did you have to get on a wait list to book your tee time?
Also long time viewer and also appreciative of the content you bring to us! The soundtrack you use to highlight the highs and lows really showcase the rollercoaster ride golf is. Even for you, as a really good golfer. In a way nice to see, but on the other hand, if you also suffer such variation in shots, how come I still score so much worse..
Always love your videos. For some reason I don’t recall ever seeing you get this frustrated and upset after some bad shots and I’ve been watching for a long long time! 🤷♂️, no judgement of course but I know that’s something you talk about not doing!
Quick question. How are carry distances affected in Malaysia? Here in Ontario Canada, we are about 500 above sea level. In Vancouver BC (at sea level) I find yourself half a club. In Arizona you can gain 1 to 2 clubs depending (heat and altitude). You've been to the States etc. How does it compare boyfriend?
Hey Matt!! One of your big fans in Bangkok, I started playing golf about 8 months ago and currently shoot in the 100-110 range. I’ve been having a hard time transitioning from driving range to real course, was wondering if you’d wanna play a match with me and give me some tips and pointers!
Curious, how come your voice sounds different when you talk will golfing versus your older videos which you’d do voice overs discussing the “way of the playa” (for example). How you do that?
How did you develop your game to become so good and how long did it take you?, I work a lot and am desperately trying to improve but i feel that i am stuck. I've spent lots of time at the range trying many different drills to fix my slice, It seems to be getting worse. I have become very good at chipping and putting. But my overall ball striking is lacking. Ive tried many different things to fix my swing path etc. But just cant. Is it time for me to get lessons? I have also been told thats not going to magically fix my game
Time to get lessons. The pro will fix your problem in a most simple way. You cant fix your own swing unfortunately and you will be adding in all sorts of residue and creating small problems that will accumulate and confuse you. A pro finds a root cause and fixes that so the rest falls into place
@@GolfSidekick Thank you for the response, Much appreciated. I am definitely adding more problems without realizing it. I will be looking into a local pro to get to the next level
Bad drives.. couple bad approaches Still shooting 1 over with a bad 3 put on 17.. and you dropped from the tee box on a par 5... just shows you can play very imperfect golf and still have a GREAT SCORE WADDAPLAY
@@conshymatt In between distances - still working on them. Plus avoiding lightning on hole 18 to get into the clubhouse asap. Also depends on how tight I was in the body
Luckily thai people enjoy messing around and having fun at work. You should try it some time. Laugh a little don’t take like to seriously you don’t make it out alive
this guy is good, he should start his own channel
I would watch it if he did
He also dresses pretty sharp. He should sell golf apparel.
He also should move to America
It’d be really cool if he could design a ball mark repair tool shaped like a bird…. Better yet like a feather 🪶
@@jamesthrower3865 lol 😂
Shot 40 for the first time at a 9 holes… as a 23.1 hcp. So happy! First time with new clubs as well!

That's pretty boss to shoot a 78 with hybrids off the tee.

That back to back birdie train was unreeeeal playa. Love it! What a baus driver of the ball!
5:00 - 5:30 Love it! The birdie jingle followed immediately by "The Tuba". That's golf🤣

Matt, just love the way you drive thru impact on all your irons. What a Playa.
I want to thank you. Your videos have helped me finally break 80!!! Understanding my abilities and playing my own game is a game changer playa!

Love that birdie music! Gets me semi turgid every time.
The follow-through in your first drive is just immaculate! Still piped💣

Most impressive part is how u walk up to the knee knocker putts and casually just tap them straight in
caddie got that model figure :P Also nice golfin game
You were forced to lay up on 5 and subsequently hit a 9i, AW and one putted for birdie. Shots saved personified!
Extended dance version. Love it playa
Plant em and watch em grow!!
What a great video! As a mid handicapper watching how you play makes me feel like I can play better
That's how to keep mentally tough. Some of those tee shots would have made my head go but yours was rock solid. No drama

Are you trying heads up putting at 2:58 ? I've been thinking about doing it but I never actually took de courage to try it out on the golf course
Most of the round is heads up playa
Love me some back to back birdie music
Holes 15&16, never heard the birdie music play for so long!!!

8th hole is everything that’s good about golf. Including the bad shots!
Immediately follow by the tuba on the 9th!
"Caddie no good" never gets old on the first putt of the day

"i like those difficult shots thats why i dont land in the fairway" see i love golf so much i lose my balls. Course looks amazing
Love the videos playa! Just a quick question...are you South African? Anyway, lekker videos brother
Your follow through on your wedge shots seems short. Do you always do that?
depends on the shot
Punchy playa 🏌🏾♂️
I've said Oh Shit many of times on the golf course as well as other colorful metaphors. Peace!
I was wondering about Teaski. Her content was entertaining hope she will resume in her bro's footsteps

imo Matt's short iron short follow through is costing him significant distance. he's hitting a P wedge at 131 and coming up ten yards short.
Loft management.

We all miss Teaski. Much more talented than you hack.
